  • That's not a valid biceps curl, you're supposed to use your biceps, not your thighs and lower back.....

  • @N1gg4J3w He really didn't use that much legs or back or he wouldn't have gotten the lift. Regardless, this is still alot harder then it looks.

  • Using his back.

  • how is that tiny thing with the 2 tiny weights on it 245 lbs? Are these futuristic compressed weights or something? lol

  • @Ibrahim110 The Golden plates are 100 plus lbs a side. Plus the aound 20 lb bar and te small weights on the side make it about 245.

  • Oh and haman curled 275.

  • WHY do people post video of them curling when it a bitch curl. I dont care if its 245. He used his whole bidy for that. Not a real curl. I can curl 135 once but atleat i keep my back streight. If i did what he did, id be able to curl 145 150.

  • Magnus Samuelsson does 308 lbs for 5 reps?

  • @Nils3OWN The video I saw he did 308 for 4..

  • wow you can curl some weight why don't we stick to the real man lifts called deadlifts and squats...

  • @stallionsm8atwill he doesn't squat or deadlift most liekely because this is his specialty lift. I will tell you what though, try curling that weight and tell me it doesn't take some real man strength to do it!

  • @stallionsm8atwill heavy curls builds a powerful looking upper arm and postural strength.

  • That is one huge weight he is curling regardless of what magnus samuelsson had curled in his videos this is still very impressive feat of bicep strength

  • Kaz did 315 x 22 reps on a straight bar, match that Powabuilda.

  • @MrJimmyjonesjr Well he sure was a strong guy but I would sure as heck want to see that for myself. Alot of times things can be exagerated...

  • wtf that cant be word record im 16 and curls 75 kg

  • @viking95boxer This was the WR in NASA although he previously did 254 I believe. Keep in mind this federation is NATURAL and TESTED. And if you can do that in comp form then great lets see it!

  • world record my ass. Magnus Samuelson does 315x4 with a straight bar which is even harder. See this clip: v=l4GzrW2-ovM

    owns this guy.

  • @xzu He actually recently did 254 in competition. And also Magnus does not compete in NASA and don't know wether or not he's even truely natural. NASA is a drug tested fed. Also, Im not sure magnusse form would have passed in competition. Although Im sure he could still probably do more then this for sue but thats not the point..

  • I Find it funny how it walks around like he's the biggest motherfucker there is. He's big but he doesn't have to walk around like a dumbass. Nice curl nonetheless

  • @Unsafekiwi well I guess thats the way he is. I think he is just being as confident as he can. Ive seen him in the warm up room not lifting and he does not seem to be a cocky guy.

  • Cheat rep.... Still pretty impressive....

  • People shut up this curl is fantastic I curl 170 and 250 is just far beyond so stop complaining and go buy Britney spears new album and sing like a little girl

  • Gay vid swing it alittle more next time it will go over your head...idiot

  • @jethrobodine011 And you can do better? Yeah fucking right.

  • @killyou45 yeah i could do that same shitty lift and im pretty sure my girlfriend could do it as well.

  • This is the real shit people don't even fucking understand how arm curling takes the longest to get a record. I can do a 205 raw arm curl while weighing 190lbs and being 6'2 so you know it takes years!!!

  • Who the fuck curls in competition. This is retarded

  • He may have used his back a little bit, but that is crazy strong, Would love to see trolls here in cyberspace try it. Guarantee most couldn't even move it an inch.

  • what a joke.

  • thats a curl, everyone can shut up, the whole point of powerlifting is using the whole body to move a certain weight, ik this isnt a traditional powerlift, but the same concept still applys, btw good job dude

  • Sorry, not a record from a pure standpoint. True, if they recognized it, then it is a record.

  • For me , even through it asks lot of strenght to perform a clean... for me it is a clean with underhand close grip.... raw strenght uncontestable through... Good job mate!

  • @StrenghtAthlete Well if he was doing a reverse clean thats some pretty bad clean form in my opinion! No droping under the bar and not much leg drive! Im glad you see the difficulty in it, but In my opinion its still a curl beause its not really even close to a true clean...

  • @powabuilda U are right, my point was simply that a barbell curl is meant to be curl... not swing... thats is still some really heavy poundage on that and we must give him credit for what he achieved

  • @StrenghtAthlete Well I guess see what you are saying. To me its cloe to a curl then clean but none the less impressive as we agree on!

  • Cheated put his back against a wall then try to do it

  • @CrAzZzEdxAH Well in the NASA rule book it does not say a thing about being against a wall last time checked. Even though the lift may have been a bit questionable, they still gave it to him. And it doesnt take away the difficulty of what he did. Try curling 245 no matter what the form and I can almost gaurentee you wont get the weight from point A to point B. Ive done this weight and a bit more before and cheated more then this although I weigh way less. If you succeed cheat or no your strong

  • @powabuilda I must respectfully disagree with caption. The NASA rule book does mention the following with respect to the Strict Curl: "5. The legs and hips may not be used in any way for momentum to complete the lift. Any thrusting of the legs or hips for momentum is strictly forbidden." The above lift does not comply with NASA rules; ergo, not a record.

  • @powabuilda Actually it does, that call cheating. Even though it not in the rulebook, then why is it call a curl? The definition of "curl" is to put your back FLAT. not like him and curl all that without moving an inch except his arms.

  • @DH5354 It really isa matter of interpretation. If you want to see curls up against a wall, they have competitions were that is the protocol so watch those. This on the other hand isn't and it doesnt take away he difficulty of the lift at all. Seriously load this weight up on a curl bar and try to curl it even with your back and legs helping some and you will see the difficulty.

  • weird thought he would get redlighted for the pretty big swing in the begining

  • @muzimuzi Well its not so much that as is the feet springing off the ground and knee bend.. But if they gave it to him they gave it to him!

  • @powabuilda ah well i really dunno anything curl meets only strict curl i know the rules for

  • Can he squat?

  • he dident even use his biceps to curl it

  • @antzzz111 Maybe not completely but its stll at of weight and more then MOST people on this planet and impressive!

  • @powabuilda strict and less weight is alot more impressive imo

  • @antzzz111 He uses a tad of leg drive and back very slightly. Nothing extreme. If you watch his vid from the past were he did 226, it'sstricter then this. But this past in a meet for a WR so either way I think its impressive!

  • @powabuilda yes but magnus samuelsson did 140kgx3 with a lot better form.

  • @Henzzman In my opinion Magnus used more back and leaned back more... Not that I don' think he's stronger but I also don't this Magnus is natural and this guy is..

  • @powabuilda oh yes he is natural, that has been stated many times,he is a true natural freak and on top of that,he can bench 270kgx2 also.and actually magnus's curls are with the biggest weight i have seen around here on youtube,so unoficially he has the world record curl or curls.

  • @Henzzman Well Ive heard of that claim before but so do alot of other athletes make that claim. To win WSM like him you basically have to. If not roids, atleast growth hormones and other things close that would be illegal in this natural drug tested fed.

  • @powabuilda yes,but he is clean and he has competed in competitions where have been drug tests also.

  • @Henzzman were did you get that info?

  • @powabuilda there was some bench press competition in sweden i believe.

  • @Henzzman magnus had worse form, and is on steroids.

  • I don't know nasa's rules to the tee, but he definitely bent his knees, and his feet did not remain flat. I saw him do in the 220's by good form so can't doubt the man is poiwerful.

  • @aardvark9100 Yes, I did think there was too much leg drive too. But it's all up to the judges decision. Regardless this is still very impressive..

  • Holy shit that's crazy...

  • reverse grip hang clean

  • haha since when has curling been a judgement of someones power

  • @infamouskid31 yeah, seriously. what the fuck

  • how much can you get strict nate ?

  • @BIGDADDYJOHNSON27 Probably near 200 on a good day. A few months back I did 200 which I felt was pretty near strict.. Atleat 190-195. I also did 170 back to a wall after heavy sets so not sure might have 180 fresh but wall curls are harder then reg standing strict as you may no..lol

  • this is strong as hell most i have ever done strict is 160x2 , this guy is amazing

  • surprised they gave this to him. you can clearly see his knees bend at the beginning of the lift and they lockout when he gets the bar to his chest. great power but I have been red lighted for less as I know you have too Nate. plus the rule is that when you curl 80% or more you get to cheat a bit. Technically this is like 79% of his bodyweight.

  • @CodyV38 Ya I was surprised as well. Mainly because I thought you werent suppose to let your feet come off the ground that much like a calf rais at the begining.. I think ifI could master it I could maybe add another 10 pounds to my curl off the bat. But I guess he has a way of hiding it somehow.. But yes still much more then most people in the world can do..haha

  • Also, not trying to sound like a dick. This was a very impressive display of bicep power. Anybody know the reason for such a narrow grip though?

  • @cyberkai99 PROB CAUSE HE'S STRONGER THAT WAY MAN

  • What about you, Dave? Do you curl more with a narrow grip?

  • @cyberkai99 yeah. my pinkies are at where the rough meets the smooth bro

  • @cyberkai99 Some guys are fans of the closer grip because they feel its moe comfortable and Ive even heard a guy say it seemed like the bar traveled a more natural path.. I personally feel about shold width is just right any closer and it just hurts your wrists..

  • Is this considered a strict curl? If so, then I'd like to know what I could do. I try not to move my back at all when I curl.

  • @cyberkai99 Well NASA does allow some cheating as long as it stays within the protocal. But you cant do anything extreme for that matter.. So there pretty much like near strict curls..

  • I see. Still, a very nice curl though. I highly doubt I could curl what you or this man curls. I think my best strict curl is 115 with a straight bar and 135 slightly cheated. I've never done EZ curls for a max. How much carryover do you get from your straight bar to your EZ bar curl, Nate?

  • @cyberkai99 Well I tend to feel pretty close in strength on both and sometimes almost stronger on straight bar for some reason. So theres not much difference for me. The main thing is the straight bar takes more forearm strength..

  • Awesome! I'd like to see how much he can cheat curl.

  • @HHH396 Probably like 350!! hahaha

  • I thought you weren't supposed to bend your knees for NASA's cheat curl, I mean "power" curl? True, or no?

'cause this dude clearly uses his legs by bending them at the beginning.

Either way, it is insanely strong. I am just surprised it passed the judges...

  • @BRETZERR Well yes your knees are supposed to stay pretty well straight. Sometimes the allow a tad bend though. You also cannot rock the foot between the ball and heel which I saw he clearly did when I saw this lift from the side. idk perhaps cuz there wasn't much back movement he hid it well from the judges.. But either way it was Impressive!

  • @BRETZERR even if he bends his knees ithink this looks a lot stricter than any of nates curls. the guy barely used back.

nice work to your friend nate

  • Nice.

  • so strong! barely even moved the back, WOW!

  • Wow, that one looked absolutely easy! And with a narrow grip! If it was that narrow, my wrists wouldn't feel comfortable a bit.
