  • Elaine is so gorgeous.

  • 0:28 Trollface

  • i feel the same way right now with girls posting there sonograms on facebook!!!!

  • The look on Elaine's face before she says "maybe the dingo ate your baby" XD

  • For all of you who don't know, its from the movie "A Cry in the Dark" with Meryl Streep, about an Australian mother who's baby died and people thought that a dingo ate it.

  • @718Gilbert I think everyone thought that the mother actually killed the baby and was just saying that a dingo took it, everyone thought she was lying.

  • ok so i know the story about Lindy Chamberlain (if thats her name) and the dingo and the baby... and whatever. But what has this woman looking for her fiance got to do with it and why is this funny?... im not knocking Seinfeld, love it and everything, just dont get this reference

  • An innocent woman was imprisoned for 2 years because of this incident, It's sad it's such a huge joke to other countries

  • @xXMarsOzXx 'Kay, I'm not Australian, but even if I were, I would still find this fucking hilarious.

  • No it didn't. I checked.

  • Who cares? Really, who cares about the newer generations lack of taste? Funny is ageless. Bad taste is always irrelevant. Way to go Elaine!!!

  • this show is fucking hilarious

  • I'm Aussie and I know its been like 30 years but that joke is just terrible. That family went through alot, its a really sad story :/

  • is this what everybodys talking about ?

  • what is a dingo?

  • The look Elaine gives her is priceless. "Yeah that's right you annoying bitch, fuck off."

  • Oh my God. haha. I love this scene. My mom and I say this line all the time. :)

  • shes a billionaire

  • You gotta love Elaine.

  • Ya know, I forgot where this happened but at some crowded place once me and the people I was with heard one lady near us say "oh my gosh I can't find my baby, and we all bust out laughing cuz one of us had just made a comment on this(not a YouTube comment, a physical comment)

  • Ah shit, here we go again.......camping near a mesa? ..... there are no mesas to speak of in Australia.....they were camped near Ayres Rock in Central Australia.......it is only assumed that a dingo...(just one), may have taken the baby..the mother was charged with the baby's murder and put in prison....the charges were later dropped and she was set free..do your homework knightflyte ...

  • Elaine should have said the Dingo ate her fiance !

  • @agamemnon419 it wouldn't have been funny if she said that.

  • @liberalinthedesertaz: It wasn't funny anyway. I don't understand the fascination Americans have surrounding the whole dingo thing. Could someone explain? I love Seinfeld, but what on earth has a dingo in Australia got to do with some jerk who won't shut up about her finance??

  • @1981macman She wasn't talking about finances, she was talking about her fiance'.

  • @JonBenait06: Thank you, I obviously dropped in a rogue n. One thing you tube needs is more english teachers. My question still stands?

  • Hahaha wtf?

  • It was funny at the time, still funny now. A dingo ate my baby.

  • If I may say so, as an Australian, I find it hilarious reading all the American comments trying to explain the humour in this clip.

  • Elaine is hotter than a match.

  • Did this woman suffer a miscarriage prior to this video? Because if so lol ZING

  • For everyone who dose not get the reference

So this lady's baby was killed and she said a dingo (a wild dog ) killed it but every one else said she mured the baby. So the lady in this video said where's my fiancé and the lady in the case said where's my baby so when she said maybe the dingo ate your baby it suppose mean you mured her fiancé

  • I didn't get the reference at all, and I laughed my ass off.

  • by the way did you hear the part where she mentioned she had a fiance?

  • The dingo really did eat the baby.

  • The dingo ate her accent.

  • haha i no the whole story. Wait- who ate my chocolate?

Maybe the dingo ate my chocolate.

  • yess yess we do

  • The bad thing about this is when I go around saying it at school no one gets my reference... Teens these days need to learn the value of comedy from every year... like me :3

  • @WeLcOmEtOmYfREakSHow we need to teach our generation comedy (I am 12)

  • @bambinobabymonster LOL, you're my lil' soldiers age.

  • @bambinobabymonster An you need to stop frontin' like you're 18 *mean stare*.

  • @TheNostalgiaJunkie And you need to stop acting like a 21 yr old bitch like you know shit *death stare like a demon straight from hell)

  • @bambinobabymonster LOL, ahright.

  • lolololol always makes me laugh :3

  • Like like like like.

I've been living with this scene for year.

Always makes me laugh harder and harder.

  • Yeah, after researching the background of this joke, I find it much less funny

  • I love this line and episode so much, that I have this line on my coffee mug! It always makes me laugh :)

  • Funny!

  • I woke up with this line in my head. I've been saying it all day.

  • This is one of my top 5 favorite Seinfeld lines - ever!

  • This was so hilarious when I first saw it

  • For once, a women in a sitcom is funny enough to nearly make me die of laughter. I fucking love this show!

  • she's so satisfied afterwards ahahaha

  • LLLOOOOOOVVVVEEEEE IT!

  • Had no idea this was a line from a movie. At least now I know what was Oz's band named after

  • Is that real fur?

  • this episode is on right now lol

  • Does anyone have a clip of elaine doing that dance jig thing. I'm not taking about the dance she did at the party though, it's like a small jig.

  • I say it all the time, nobody gets me! THE-DINGO-ATE-YO-BABY! aaand i'm laughing by myself again ;)

  • @glhmtv haha...I say it too...and nobody gets it!!

  • Hahahahahah

  • roflcopter. i laughed.

  • the Azaria Chamberlaine story is so sad... I don't think there's much tact in this joke about a nine week old babies death by dingoes, but if people find it funny, so be it. :P

  • hahahaha oh elaine...

i wanna say our accent doesn't sound like that... but it does ;)

especially when the crazy meryl streep takes it off.

  • i wish Elaine was my bff

  • @girlie347: fucking idiot!

  • I AM SO GLAD JUST THIS CLIP IS POSTED .... JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR !!!!!

  • this is the best thing ever I have watched it about 40 times

  • Why does nobody know that this is a film reference? A Cry in the Dark, people. Google it.

  • @voodoo4936 A film reference based on an actual crime... What's you point?

  • Classic as hell.

  • the way she said "fiance" made me want to punch a small animal... annoying

  • When americans tell me I don't sound Australian, I start talking like this and then they finally believe me.

    Then I am confused.

  • Please dont tell me people are labeling this as racist. What a joke!

    Hilarious scene!

  • She's sponge worthy

  • its great show, but i never understood why this scene was supposed to be funny

  • @quentin98765 It's Elaine's attitude towards the lady who keeps mentioning her fiance..

  • @aloobi ya... so the women is annoying, doesnt make the line at all funny

  • why does she keep saying fiance?

  • That was fucking stupid

  • lol im Australian and no one talks like that here. lol. failwhale!

  • @JMBofficialmusic I know you, and you sound EXACTLY like that.

  • @mistabook i know you. you were as loose as a goose when i stuffed you with my salami

  • It's not totally not racist, even us Australian's put on accents like this because we don't actually talk like that lol.

  • Is he a dog or something?

  • So,,, if we now go and shoot the Dingo,,,,with the baby inside,,,,are we then committing murder????

  • What is annoying is Lindy was a KIWI and speaks like gillard .its like the bogans..rule! its not an Australian accent..at least not in Melbourne! weather,, my arse!! best city in Australia by so far doesn't matter !!!!!!!! AND I HAVE BEEN IN ALL just my call !

  • WHO SAY FIANCE NOWDAYS ITS SO ANOYING AND IRITATING !!!

  • I'm Australian, I find this hilarious!

  • @kapow151 So am I, it's frickin hilarious!

  • was that supposed to be funny?

  • She's loving it

  • Problem? =D

  • Kind of a stupid line, but the woman should have been smacked for just wanting everyone to know she had a fiancee.

  • @Srd1126

At the time, a Meryl Streep movie based on a real life incident in Australia where a couple's baby was eaten by dingos was still popular. They were camping out near some mesa and while sitting by the campfire a dingo entered the tent and stole the child. The parents were accused of murduring the child, and some people heckled the parents with this line.

The reference is what made it funny, though after almost 20 years, the line has lost a bit of luster.

  • @knightflyte Only the mum was accused.

  • @MrGxMoto Thanks for the clarification. Been a while since I've seen the movie, and being from the U.S. I don't remember the story in the news at all.

  • @knightflyte no, actually the baby wasn't eaten by dingos, the couple killed their baby.

Do you even know what a dingo is?

  • @liberalinthedesertaz Do you? Dingos are aggressive, opportunistic, extremely strong, and possess razor sharp teeth. They aren't simple wild dogs, they're closer to wolves. They're known to attack humans especially infants left unattended.

Do you have some evidence that hasn't come to light in the 4 separate investigations?

  • @TheBernice We think for ourselves, we aren't brainwashed losers who believe the "evidence" these presented to get the murderers free.

They are NOT known to attack humans, Australian aboriginees who grew up in the outback will tell you that. But continue to believe what the media feeds into your weak little mind.

  • @Essefen You're not thinking, you're a moron whose ignoring evidence and facts to suit your personal beliefs about the couple.

There are documented cases of dingos attacking people in the same area as the baby. And there is a case where people witnessed a dingo taking a child out of a car. But what do you care... you've already made up your mind. You're the small minded one, you can't handle the idea that you're wrong.

  • @Essefen: What are you on about? There have been several reported attacks on Frasier Island alone, one of which killed a 9 y.o. in 2001. While its true that a dingo would rather run than fight, these attacks can and do happen sometimes. Dingos are a beautiful animal and not scary, but end the end they are wild and can't be trusted around young children.

  • @1981macman cause obviously the dingo will eat your baby

  • @jmb102093: Obviously. But why the obsession? Do you even know the story behind that? It's a stupid joke. But, love the show.

  • @liberalinthedesertaz Been a while since I saw the movie I mentioned. I don't live in Australia so I don't follow Australian news from almost 30 years ago. A dingo is in the canine family, thus resembling a wild dog.

  • @knightflyte Only morons who never saw the real news TV, uncaring, uncrying mother [unlike the Meryl streep performance] talking about the loss of her baby would ever believe a dingo took the baby. They DID murder her, I don't care what the courts said.

  • @knightflyte That is true of most of Seinfeld... it is becoming less and less culturally relevant and the more I watch it the more I realize the references are going to fly right over the newer generation's head.

  • @knightflyte -_- it isnt some mesa its the biggest fuckin rock in the world xD

  • @Srd1126 It's actually spelled "fiance" when referring to a guy. "Fiancee" is for when referring to a woman. Just a bit of mostly useless knowledge.

  • @pratikh I like useless knowlege, my head is full of it. If it is in my head, it is useless.

  • Stella!!!!!

    Stella!!!!!!

  • Am I the only one who was brought here by Shaycarl? ha

  • @Razberry52 no your not hahah its hilarious when shay says that in the accent

  • @Razberry52 yes.

  • @styrofoamboots94 i knew someone would do that, but i'm clearly not since someone has already told me they came here for the same reason, so touché

  • Comment removed

  • Elaine is the troll mother.

  • @CockyR4 The line "A dingo ate your baby." is from a movie called "A Cry In The Dark." (To me) Elaine uses the line as a sort of joke but also because she wants to freak the other woman out so she'll leave Elaine alone. : )

  • I should use the same line the next time I want to lose some idiot. :P

  • This is gold!

  • DINGO AND THE BAABY 97.1!!

  • 0:28 Troll face.

  • @whydontyoushootme lol she wants to laugh so bad, she always is like uncontrollable in the bloopers, which is hilarious, it prob took them about 10 tries to get this down lol

  • @whydontyoushootme ahahahah lust keep clicking it over and over again (good one )

  • "Fiancé" is hilarious, not so much the Dingo part.

  • I love Elaine's face at 0.03, it's like - is this woman for real?! Ha-ha...

  • Best female comedian ever!

  • she does a really good accent - in fact better than some of our own accents and we live here! we don't sound like that btw, these days there is a touch of American in our everyday accents

  • LMFAO!!!!!!!

  • I'm Australian and I laugh my head off everytime i watch, Julia Louis Drefuss is hilarious

  • im australian and i dont care

  • Lol, You got to love Elaine.

  • Haha her delivery is perfect

  • There was a lady named Lindy Chamberlain who, in the 1980's was convicted of murdering her some-month-old daughter, while they were in Uluru Australia camping. Lindy was imprisoned for about 6 years, until the verdict was overturned. It is said that a "dingo ate her baby", and there have in fact been other cases where dingos have taken small children.

So while looking at it from the perspective of knowing that a dingo really did eat someones baby, and there was a big case involving Australia

  • THE DINGO ATE YOUR BABY.

  • Lmao I love how Elaine's so pleased with herself

  • Koodos to Elaine, that woman was annoying, "My Fiance", the way she speaks is so prententious

  • more british than australian but ive seen plenty of americans do worse

  • I too hate it when people say fiance too much

  • God Elaine is so hot.

  • Press 9

  • worst australian accent ever

  • @sliat1981 you searched it, you wanted to see it, you clicked it of free will. so why you hating?

  • I love Elaine in Stella, so freakin funny

  • I love how ellain laughs lolololol

  • I look up this clip every few months and it gets a good laugh from me and whoever is in the room every time.

  • Bet she's hairy!!

  • ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • I'm Australian and I'll speak on behalf of Australia when I say some of you fellow Aussies need to harden the fuck up its just a show, we were no better on our Hey Hey it's Saturday incident

  • @ChordAbsolute what was the hey hey its saturday incident?

  • @ChordAbsolute True that, Australian jokes are hilarious, it's a comedy show and comedy's joke when then need to.

  • @ChordAbsolute what incident?

  • dingo is a funny way 2 say to her ha

  • <3

  • I usually don't nitpick, but because NBC showed this out of order, this episode is actually a season 2 episode, and as such, it's that way on the DVD set. True Seinfeld fans know that in this episode, George was still in real estate. And he would quit that job in haste in The Revenge.

  • @Tugnus - No one understands that what you said is part of what makes it insensitive.
