i still have trouble beliveing this is a real thing. i think its just spoiled kids, that get stuffed with pills and get convinced they are sick. its wierd that this condition just appears in the last decades, about the same time kids were put on a pedestal.
@theDudeAbides1100 It's hard to believe something that you don't have. It's like saying I don't believe in dyslexia and the kids are just lazy spoiled assholes that don't want to read
yesterday i sat in front of my physics books for 6 hours straight but still couldn't focus enough to advance more than 2 pages !..was i being lazy? i force myself to study more than anyone who gets straight A+s !
conclusion , you are just a douche bag and you should understand anything before talking about it.
@MozLuv59 Cause if u would have had a job u wouldnt have had to feel bad. I feel like shit cause i dont have a job if I had a job I wouldnt think so much about my adhd.
I have ADD, I take adderal and it helps me. But, i still stress out and feel sad that i am not as smart as some college students. :(. I get writers block because i think way to hard about college. Maybe, college just isn't for me.
@FightingSpirt Do u think that u have to be smart to be able to graduate? Its just hard work. U dont have to be smart to do good in school. I know plenty of people with degrees that are completely ignorant and dumb as fuck.
i have adhd and i agree with everything he has said.. i am still going to go to college to get my degree in career counseling to help prove that having a disability isn't going to effect how i am going to achieve my goals in life
i gave myself a whole week to finish an essay. i isolated myself from all distractions and had no other hw and still could not finish it on time because my mind kept wandering. is that a symptom of possible add? also i have always recieved low grades even though i come from a high achieving family.
I have the same problems you might what I have. I have ADD I'm a junior in high school my main problem is memorization, keeping focus in class, and keeping organized. And btw the man in this video has a very valid point on doing things if your not doing so well
On test do what I do study! Also reread the everything you study 3 hours before your test for 3 hours. Straight hope what I said helps. My test percentage went from 54.67% to 87.56% after seeing a doctor and taking meds
im almost 100% sure i have inanittive add my mind is just blured and i cant focus..... i try to to good in school but just cant, im going to the docs about this tuesday, how do i tell my doctor that i have it? .. would he run any tests?
I think I might have ADD. It's my freshman year in college and I'm supposed to be studying engineering, but I can't focus in classes and can't take notes or study. I can't organize my time. It takes me hours to write papers and it takes me forever to finish assignments. Last semester I got away with a 3.2, but this quarter I'm failing most of my quizzes and tests. I don't get it. I was never disruptive in class, and was always shy. I always thought I was just lazy, but I'm not so sure anymore.
I basically discovered myself that I have ADD, thanks to my psychology classes, but yeah ADD can also be great, for example in my case I also have hyperfocus, which means if I'm highly interested into something, I can spend like around 10 hours only focusing on that thing without getting tired, and actually being learning a hell of a lot, However, does medication supresses hyperfocus? because I would lose that for nothing
I was diagnosed w/ ADD when I was 6yrs old. The doctor told my father I would not exceed in life. I now own my own special makeup effects company called IllusEffects Studios, I learned web design by watching training videos because I would not retain the information by reading & created my company web site. I also buy products wholesale & sell them on my web site and ebay. I have accomplished almost everything I have set out to because I was told I couldn't. I see it as a blessing not a curse.
The best thing that I have found for anger management is this: If you feel yourself getting angry, walk away and let yourself calm down. Then go back to the person later and continue the conversation.
If you are in a situation where this is not possible, I usually try my best to take slow, deep breaths and imagining a calm, quiet scene in my head.
I want that book! Just this morning, I was diagnosed with ADD (before, I thought I had a bipolar disorder). Do you sell your books worldwide or only in the US? I have problems in concentrating, getting good grades, and finishing my school projects :( is there any chance for me to get your book in SIngapore?
How DARE YOU to say that one should be OK with taking Medication? That Medication are save? I am fully aware that many peope benefit from medication. I am also fully aware that people get Sick from these meds. Helpfull or not, Stimulant medications are BAD!!! And to say that one needs get on meds to be able to see the problems is BULL!! Do some better research dude.
I myself have Attention Deficit Disorder, but was NEVER properly diagnosed with it.............does anybody remember the autism craze that started in the early '90s?
Brooney, I'm ADHD, and also have what I believe to be some mild, associated dyslexia, so you might not be as far off base as you think. My two first videos explain what I've learned about this through much personal struggle and by the grace of the Lord. can check them out if you want - and sorry about the hat :)
Reading multiple of the comments here, i'm pretty sure i got ADD :( i always thought i was dyslexic orso since i always had trouple to remember things I was reading.
I know one guy who has ADHD and he think he may have restless leg syndrome because he has that- rapid leg and foot movement when hes trying to fall asleep.
I get night fidgets in a different way. It may be because I have what I call "ADHD worst case scenario." But I can't just lay still for 8 hours. ha, thats not gonna happen. I roll and move around all night, waking up every few hours. and in the morning, i'm pretty exhausted.
ADD adults already have no problem doing 5 things at once. The problem is completing any one of them. Or even setting a priority. Pretty soon there can be 100 projects started and not a one completed. Everything in disorder and frustrating...moving from one disordered task to another...and on and on. Stacks of disorder...hundreds of post it notes, all leading to chaos. No peace or accomplishment in that.
lol....yeah, i stat many projects at once, and usually complete zero of them. i'm failing college, and was dropped from financial aid. I figured that i would just keep going to college, and use my own money, but im still failing. I'm at my wits end, and i feel like a failure.
I fear that I may become a hoarder if I collect too many things and become disorganized but I force myself to throw stuff out, and luckily once it's gone I never think of it again. Just throw stuff out you KNOW you'll never use and cancel your insignificant projects. You're going to repeat yourself and create a mess of projects all again without realizing it but you gotta do your cleaning
@mrbicycle1 im 12 and im english and i think i have add im in the bottom sets and i cant concentrate and ive been diagnosed with dislexia and im allways moving and figiting with my hands or feet and i have done a couple tests on the internet and they all say i have it so im a bit worried what to do

@mrbicycle1 me too in colombia they diagnosed me but, they gave me some therapy in 2nd and 3rd grade.............. When I came to USA my summer before entering I was diagnose again
you really shocked me with your answer to "When were you diagnosed?" So you never really were diagnosed?! By a therapist or a psychiatrist or a doctor? But your indication was that your fellow students wanted to kill you?!
I have the same issue. My son is 13, and a neurologist wanted to diagnose him with Asperberger's, but couldn't quite do it. Recently, we learned it wasn't Asperberger's but a high functioning ADD.
The problem is, his Neurologist doesn't want to recommend medication because he feels the side effects just aren't worth the issue. I hope that this book and video will help because I really believe if we can help him learn to structure and follow it, he'll be okay.
I would also like to add that in his age, he still maintains a "B" average, but feels he has to struggle to maintain it. He's just as anxious about high school/college as I am, but I never allowed him to believe I expect any standards than that of the best.
lol one question... I have to ask b/c this is a vid about ADD...
-did you stop the vid to hear that again?/ notice he had said that then keep watching?/or did you notice but keep the vid playing but no longer paying attention and just thinking about that one part?
Mine was the third...haha
I am 1000% sure I have ADD, but nobody will listen because I was never a hyper child and was always polite. Now I am too afraid to start college because I know I can't focus enough to keep my grades!
