  • Where can I see this?

  • @ussoccer26

Wow, get your fucking head out of your arse. DeMerit was decent, but he was only a very average footballer. To compare his story to something like Rocky is an absolute joke! And honestly, if yo don't agree with that then you're seriously deluded!

  • I put the trailer on my facebook and am pushing this movie hard. This is a story worthy of being told.

  • this is fantastic jay was an absoulute professional for watford he is sadly missed, glad he is finally getting some recognition, amazing story of a man who refuses to take no for an answer

During the World Cup, I made sure that everyone knew who he was and his story and ordered the DVD and can't wait to see it.

  • To Watford fans, Americans in London or football fans in general! A screening of the film will be coming to London very soon. If interested in attending, message me. Thanks!

  • the sad thing is he never made it to the premier league

  • @dondappa85 He did make it to the premier league. With Watford.

  • @mooreao And that lasted all of one season.

  • @dondappa85 Actually he did play in the Premier League. The team got relegated the next season. But still to go from a nowhere team to the Premier League is amazing.

  • jay demerit is the epitome of a role model! what an inspiration.

  • wow. what an inspiration. i live about 15 minutes from where Jay grew up and i play the same position as him on the field. i also had his mom as a gym teacher kindergarden through 5th grade :)

  • what a hornets legend i was at that playoff final vs leeds wat a game

  • you should consider crowd-sourcing this production using the "buy-a-frame" model being pioneered by the guys producing the tunnel. Google "the tunnel bittorrent guardian" for more info as i can't post a link

  • @bistchen youre canadian your football suks you got no real talent

  • @bistchen Spare us your condescending rants... Canada is not in a position to lecture the US on football or any other sport for that matter.

  • This trailer looks amazing!! Jay has a really inspiring story as do the makers of this film. I can't wait to see the full movie!!! Its going to be INSANE!!!

  • Hey guys,

I'm really looking forward to seeing this! The trailer looks terrific. Jay's story is great, I hope you guys get the financing done soon.

  • I've seen this film and it's simply unbelievable. Jay DeMerit's story is incredible and this film does an amazing job of telling it.

The filmmakers did a great job in conveying the uplifting and inspirational aspects - so that it appeals to everyone, not just soccer fans.

If I had the resources, I'd finance it myself - this film is going to find success all over the world.

  • I just saw the premier last night, in vancouver WOW this is amazing truly an inspiring story.

  • Tune is the XX, intro from the album

  • Whats the tune that kicks in after 20seconds?

  • I went to the private screening they did for the movie up here in Vancouver. Amazing piece of film, even though it's not fully finished yet. Definitely a must-watch for all whenever it comes out.

Nick, here's hoping someone with deep pockets will finance you guys. I've gave whatever I can at the event.

  • @waterboy99troop Thanks waterboy, glad you enjoyed it. The support means a lot! Keep spreading the word, the story is too good not to get out there. Just a matter of time

  • that gives me shivers down my spine!

fantastic article on the guardian website.

definitely start a just giving page to get this financed!

  • When can i get a copy of this film to own?

  • Watford legend <3

  • this is a great story...applaud you guys for doing this!

  • america, fuck yeah...

  • I have chills!

  • @laurentracyfilm Thanks Lauren, that means a lot to us. Here is a great article that was just written on the film

Actually I can't copy and paste it - just google Jay DeMerit UK Guardian

  • @nicklewis222 yeah I'm a friend of Zach's so he's sent me everything. I am so proud but I also am really excited for the content. I am a player myself.

  • Have you thought about using Kickstarter to raise finances? You could charge more for things like adding contributor names to the credits, providing special edition packages etc. It works for lots of creative projects--why not this?

  • What if you received a pledge of $1 from every youth team player/coach in the U.S. to finance this film? They could play their part in bringing your movie to the screen, after all, they are all looking to emulate your success/story. Start a social media campaign around this & see what happens.

  • @stoneylad13 Thanks stoney, we are working on it! Will get you more info in the next few weeks

  • I was there at the Millenium Stadium, I have to say it was one of the greatest days of my life, I have to give all my thanks to Jay for making that happen.

    3-0 to the Golden Boys!!!

  • dunno how i could help since im not a distributor but just a lover of the yanks

  • Looks like a really interesting documentary! I work for AMC Theatres and if you are interested in distribution, you can submit it to the AMC independent submission form. Can't post a link, but you can find it on our website. -Shane Adams, AMC Theatres

  • @amctheatres Thanks a lot Shane, I will look into it. We are still seeking funding to get the licensing rights for all the footage, etc. We are on our way though, keep spreading the word

  • i wanna watch it man

  • I will buy a copy when this becomes available! (Notice I said "will" and "when" not "would" and "if"). This looks too awesome not to be released in some format. I love Jay. What I know of his story is amazing, and I'm told I look like him. Win win.

  • @wjaiv

Thanks for the support wjaivvv. You speak the truth!

  • just put it online for free

  • Some one distribute it I wanna watch it!!! SUPER J from the USA!!

  • To whomever ends up distributing this....I will buy a copy.

BTW, you might want to contact the guys who put together Road to Roubaix and Chasing Legends to ask them about distribution options. Seriously. They are cycling films, but they also "homebrewed"!

  • should add stuff about america in it aswell as he did make it to the top :)

  • @want2playalilgame

Film is 92 minutes long, we cover all the way through the World Cup!

  • LEGEND

  • cant wait to see this

  • this film would make a great part of the 30 for 30 series

  • Looks awesome.

  • , This film looks like it's a perfect fit for ESPN's (in America) documentary series 30 by 30 or whatever it's called. Have they contacted ESPN about selling it to them?

  • what song is in the background

  • @dano121284 intro by the xx

  • Sweet. I'm buying.

  • Looking forward to seeing the full documentary. I just called your number and left you a message. Check out KickStarter. In my opinion that could be a great platform to crowd source your funding. Love the irony of Jay's real story and the story of how this documentary needs funding. I am sure it will work out.

  • Is this a joke? WFC legend and all that but really, who cares?

  • Dudes, bring it to the AFI Silver Doc Fest. Got to shop it on the Fest circuit!!

However, I'm not quite feelin HIS story based on trailer. Dempsey has a good tale.

  • This is a great story!! Go Jay, Go Producer Nick Lewis !!!!

  • WHITE...CAPS....WHITE...CAPS

  • I would love to see this film. Hopefully you guys find a way to get it out there. Its one of those stories that the American sports fan needs to hear.

  • I really hope this gets the funding needed. Truely inspirational and a Watford ledgend in my eyes.

  • Wow! his story must be told to the masses! but don't let the fame change ya Jay!

  • Ooooh Jay Demerit! Jay Jay Jay from the USA!

By far one of my favourite Watford players ever. Hope you guys get this onto DVD. Sent shivers down my spine when you showed (well kind of showed) his goal against Leeds at Cardiff.

  • never forget you jay! watford til i die.

  • Thanks, just spread the word and share the link Ratty!

  • i wish i could help, i love jay demerit
