Wow, get your fucking head out of your arse. DeMerit was decent, but he was only a very average footballer. To compare his story to something like Rocky is an absolute joke! And honestly, if yo don't agree with that then you're seriously deluded!
this is fantastic jay was an absoulute professional for watford he is sadly missed, glad he is finally getting some recognition, amazing story of a man who refuses to take no for an answer
Ive been a USA afficionado(thats spanish for fan) all my life. Being a hispanic American soccer fan brings a lot of haters, but this is what its all about. That Grind. Go USA!
They are going to start making movies about the Cascadian teams of Seatttle Sounders, Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps and soccer is going to be America's favorite sport. FOOTBALL RULES. Can't wait to watch this football movie!!!!
Jay I have coached for 16 years in Green Bay at our practices your name is GOD these kids respect you and love you. Keep up the great job you do. There is one player from your hometown he doesnt play for BayPort he plays for Preble High School because he just moved to Howard. But you have to check this out. Youtube, Audi Jepson's bicycle kick.
I attended UIC and learned about Jay and learned about Jay and his story as I got into the going to the UIC Soccer games. His story is incredible and proud to say we have the same alma mater. During the World Cup, I made sure that everyone knew who he was and his story and ordered the DVD and can't wait to see it.
To Watford fans, Americans in London or football fans in general! A screening of the film will be coming to London very soon. If interested in attending, message me. Thanks!
@dondappa85 Actually he did play in the Premier League. The team got relegated the next season. But still to go from a nowhere team to the Premier League is amazing.
wow. what an inspiration. i live about 15 minutes from where Jay grew up and i play the same position as him on the field. i also had his mom as a gym teacher kindergarden through 5th grade :)
you should consider crowd-sourcing this production using the "buy-a-frame" model being pioneered by the guys producing the tunnel. Google "the tunnel bittorrent guardian" for more info as i can't post a link
i live about two hours away from where jay grew up and its astounding how few people around here know about his story
i would love to help out in anyway possible please let me know what i can do, i have a few friends who want to see this reeased and were willing to jump aboard
This trailer looks amazing!! Jay has a really inspiring story as do the makers of this film. I can't wait to see the full movie!!! Its going to be INSANE!!!
I went to the private screening they did for the movie up here in Vancouver. Amazing piece of film, even though it's not fully finished yet. Definitely a must-watch for all whenever it comes out.
Nick, here's hoping someone with deep pockets will finance you guys. I've gave whatever I can at the event.
@waterboy99troop Thanks waterboy, glad you enjoyed it. The support means a lot! Keep spreading the word, the story is too good not to get out there. Just a matter of time
@nicklewis222 yeah I'm a friend of Zach's so he's sent me everything. I am so proud but I also am really excited for the content. I am a player myself.
Have you thought about using Kickstarter to raise finances? You could charge more for things like adding contributor names to the credits, providing special edition packages etc. It works for lots of creative projects--why not this?
What if you received a pledge of $1 from every youth team player/coach in the U.S. to finance this film? They could play their part in bringing your movie to the screen, after all, they are all looking to emulate your success/story. Start a social media campaign around this & see what happens.
@nonotnowjim Thanks for the support. We are going to get a donation option set up soon as well as pre-selling the dvd. Right now just spread the word to anyone who loves the game and loves an inspiring story.
I was there at the Millenium Stadium, I have to say it was one of the greatest days of my life, I have to give all my thanks to Jay for making that happen.
Looks like a really interesting documentary! I work for AMC Theatres and if you are interested in distribution, you can submit it to the AMC independent submission form. Can't post a link, but you can find it on our website. -Shane Adams, AMC Theatres
@amctheatres Thanks a lot Shane, I will look into it. We are still seeking funding to get the licensing rights for all the footage, etc. We are on our way though, keep spreading the word
I will buy a copy when this becomes available! (Notice I said "will" and "when" not "would" and "if"). This looks too awesome not to be released in some format. I love Jay. What I know of his story is amazing, and I'm told I look like him. Win win.
To whomever ends up distributing this....I will buy a copy.
BTW, you might want to contact the guys who put together Road to Roubaix and Chasing Legends to ask them about distribution options. Seriously. They are cycling films, but they also "homebrewed"!
, This film looks like it's a perfect fit for ESPN's (in America) documentary series 30 by 30 or whatever it's called. Have they contacted ESPN about selling it to them?
Looking forward to seeing the full documentary. I just called your number and left you a message. Check out KickStarter. In my opinion that could be a great platform to crowd source your funding. Love the irony of Jay's real story and the story of how this documentary needs funding. I am sure it will work out.
I would love to see this film. Hopefully you guys find a way to get it out there. Its one of those stories that the American sports fan needs to hear.
By far one of my favourite Watford players ever. Hope you guys get this onto DVD. Sent shivers down my spine when you showed (well kind of showed) his goal against Leeds at Cardiff.

I've seen this film and it's simply unbelievable. Jay DeMerit's story is incredible and this film does an amazing job of telling it.
The filmmakers did a great job in conveying the uplifting and inspirational aspects - so that it appeals to everyone, not just soccer fans.
If I had the resources, I'd finance it myself - this film is going to find success all over the world.
