This video looks like an alien abduction nightmare.....
Softpaws are great if your cat destroys house and furniture. These are simply rubber fingertips glued over your cat's claws so things don't tear or scratch.
Cat keeps his/her claws (no surgery or declawing). After 2-3 months the glue holding the rubber caps (softclaws) wears off and cat gets his/her sharp claws back again.
Yes, simply put your cat into his carrier or the bathroom (no rug), and let him stay in there for about 5 minutes. This is a superglue type of glue so it sets fast, but you want to give it a chance to do so without the nail cap getting pulled off immediately.
You should hold your cat for about 5 minutes after application. I feed treats to one of my cats while I hold her so she does not object to the application at all. My other cat is a cuddler anyway, so she just loves to be fussed over for the 5 minutes. I do my cats all by myself with no problem at all.
My cat plays VERY rough with my boyfriend. He's got scratches all over his arms and hands, even his back, but believe it or not, the main thing he complains about is the cat scratching up the furniture, walls, toilet paper, anything! He's even talked about getting him de-clawed. Of course I'm not going to do that, especially since I haven't even tried these soft claws yet, but next time I go out, I'm definitely getting some to try! I hope it works! :D
i have these for my cat they work very well my cat cant tear up my furniture and cant scratch the kids. my cat doesnt even notice them and is a very happy kitty:)i got blue soft paws for him
I LOVE SOFTPAWS! i put them on my cat a few days after i adopted him and they were very easy to apply. my cat whined a little bit, but calmed down after a few minutes. he is much calmer now and let me clip his nails the other day without any fuss, so future softpaw applications should be simple. i will be able to do it by myself :)
I used these when my cat was a itten and he tore up the carpet. I found I had to use more glue to keep them on because he was determined to rip them off with his teeth. They worked, but you must check their paws daily to see if they have shed one. And if they have they can tear up anything like normal. But it is preferable to declawing. I have found most declawed cats know they can use their teeth instead of claws and you have to let them keep their teeth. luckily my cat outgrew the behavior.
I hope these things work. My stepfather is evil and wants to declaw my poor baby. I say no. No cutting off her finger tips! But he said it's either that or get rid of her and I can't live without my baby. If they don't work, I've lost all hope for my baby :[ It seems easy enough, I can trim her nails so I can do that right? It does seem rather expensive though.
Soft Paws isn't for everyone. Some cats just won't tolerate this. Thankfully my cat isn't too bad, she just whines a bit and does that thing where she jerks her paw back when I touch it.

This is a great product!

Does anyone know how long the glue has to set?

I wish everyone understood just how EASY this is to do and then declawing would vanish!

as azhketh said its not easy if you have a cat with a more retained personality, but i think this is a 99% better solution than declawing :/
