Argosax was referred to as "the most evil God of all time" but he's so fucking weak that it doesn't matter how evil he was, we could just kill him. he was a total letdown...although DMC2 was easily easier than DMC1 and DMC3.

He wasn't a letdown, and he wasn't by any means weak - the reason he, and every other enemy, were so relatively weak was to emphasis how Dante had embraced the demon energies inside him, and how much more powerful he had become. The Dante from DMC3 or the first part of 1 wouldn't have even been able to hurt Argosax.

i know that, i know how powerful dante is in dmc 2, but my problem is that what the game portrays is that Dante has become so powerful that even the praised argosax pales in comparison to him, and that makes dante far too powerful.

in dmc 2, dante seems to be the most powerful demon out there and i dont like that

Dante IS the most powerful demon out there; Either way, though, you'll get your fair share. Rumor has it that a DMC5 may feature Dante's quest to bust out of Hell - with some help from Nero that is.

vergil is not better, in fact he got defeated by Dante twice, and Sparda couldn´t kill Mundus and Dante did... so I don´t know...

Vergil got defeated and ended in the demon world, after that he is defeated by Mundus and then he turns into Nelo Angelo...

In devil May Cry 1 Nelo Angelo is defeated by Dante, and that way he gets Vergil´s amulet and the force edge turns into the weapon known as Sparda... (Sparda´s sword)

I know. Mundus changed him and controlled him. You're talking about Nelo Angelo. By the way, Nelo Angelo removes his helmet on DMC1 to reveal that he is Vergil then he drops the other half of the Medallion so that Dante can get it.

LOL, Despair embodied what a joke. Theres a reason why hes a lesser Underworld lord. The greatest demons that lived in DMC are stated here:

Mundus,Sparda,Dante,Vergil, maybe Abigail, and maybe the unkown Father of Mundus.

Agrosax or Despair, is no where near as strong as Mundus. His level of power is that of maybe DMC3 Dante, probably less. These demon's are the Newer generation after Mundus's rule. Still no one knew of them since the path to the demonic realm has been closed for 2 milenia.

Finally, I believe Despair Embodied is Argosax's true form, just still greatly weakened from Arius' botched ritual. If Dante had fought a fully powered Argosax, he would've required Sparda, as I think a fully-powered Argosax is at least as powerful as Mundus if not more so.

Also, it has been said that Demons worshipped as Gods have been so large in number there were too many to count. In fact, I think Lucia's Demon fish boss (that goes transparent) is one of these Gods, since it's considered sacred.

Not only is this supported by the instruction manual's statement that Sparda (only referred to as "a great swordsman from the outside") aided the Vi De Marli (Matier's group) in fighting Argosax (referred to as "the most evil God of all time.") with the help of the four Arcana a few centuries ago. This means it happened long after Mundus' reign, which was 2000 years before DMC and at least 1500+ years before Argosax's reign.

Actually, it's never been said that Argosax ruled before Mundus did. In fact, it's impled that he ruled after Sparda's rebellion.

Argosax was the true king of hell until Sparda imprisoned it, then Mundus takes the throne (Argosax is the King and Mundus the Prince, as the games state). Argosax is much more powerful than Mundus, but in DMC2 you fight an incompleted and weakened form.

Beat what DMC? In DMC2 you fight Despair like anyone, but he's still an awesome boss. DMC2 Dante got DDT, a Devil Trigger with the same powers of Sparda.

for the record he isn't the new ruler of Hell, Mundas is. In Devil May Cry 2 the story talks about how various gods ruled....blah blah. point is some demons like Sparda are so powerful that they're considered gods. Depair Embodied is one example of that
