It's not hard to design a battery that doesn't work until you add water. It can even have a mechanism that makes it absorb that water away from the "switch". It then has room for only 5 fill ups. The total amount of energy it outputs is less than what a normal battery outputs.

Oh dear... it's just powered by oxidizing the carbon and magnesium electrodes. It's literally a normal battery, albeit a primitive one. The electrodes (which are the real source of the power) will eventually be used up and the batteries will stop working (probably quicker than a normal battery will). The mild advantage to these would be that without liquid the batteries can be stored longer.

this battery is not amazing. It is basically a standard zinc carbon battery minus the water which is added later. It does not have magnesium. It has manganese dioxide .

2009 Guinness Book of records says that the longest lasting available double-A battery cells is Panasonic's EVOLTA & that they last 20 percent longer than other batterys.I would use them till these water powered ones come out.Then I would use the water powered ECO FRIENDLY battery.
