You're singer is holding you back. The songs and playing are very good. You guys could go somewhere, but not with the singer you have. His vocals don't match your type of music at all. Listen to what I'm saying. I've been singing for 27 years.
This was your first song? I guess ur first was ur greatest I want this song for my iPod. Also I don't think the singer sucks. Just a tad high pitch for the type of music u guys are playing he's still awesome. Also Gary? I think the lead was? He's amazing I wanna play like that guy.
Jamie has an awesome voice. The EQ gets abit scewed due to the fact the camera mic was being overloaded and was sitting at my feet next to my monitor.
Gary is a stupidly good guitar player, he can play anything, very fun to play alongside.
Yup this was the first song we wrote together, Gary came up with the bulk of the song, added some stuff to t, and the rest of us developed it. But its Gary's song. I like the intro
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoy the song. As for the settings I have no idea!!! One drawback of digital style amps is you programme the settings, they sound great then a year or two passes and you forget exactly what settings u plugged in!! Most of the heavy stuff is on the Modern Hi Gain model with the gain about 12 and channel volume up full. As for EQ i have no idea. Generally fairly flat to avoid issues with guitar changes
Man i like this song. I think you guys done killer with this one. Its like a Zeppelin song, it takes you from point A to point B. Very well constructed you got talent man.
I liek my Flextone II, its my small gig and practice amp (main amps are mesa boogie tremoverb and a vintage hiwatt). I have been suing the flex ii for about 7 years now, its very reliable and sounds decent enough for a non tube amp. You could pick one up on the cheap now as its an older model. It would be in my opiion a useful thing to own alongide ur peavey
I remember listening to this on the old myspace page when it was still an instrumental. I haven't heard it in about 2 years. It's evolved into a quality tune.
Thanks for the kind words. This was recorded about 2 years ago. The song always had lyrics etc. The version you listened to on myspace was just a rough demo.
Haha. I like when idiots like you come along. My spelling mistakes were induced by one handed typing, as I was in a hurry. I dont normally justify myself to online retards like yourself , but you seem to be more retarded than your peers. You insult my intellect, guitar playing and spelling despite knowing nothing about me. I have two degrees and I am a fully qualified Optometrist. I dont claim to be the worlds best guitarist and many peopel enjoy my band.
Your no doubt just some fat, sticky fingered, lonely, uneducacted, soon to be diabetic, hypertensive creton who spends his day trawling the internet, generally being an asshole for no reason other than having nothing else to do! Maybe if you posted some videos of your own, showing some form of usefulness to society or even a slender reminent of talent, people would take your opinions more seriously and not just pity you.
I happily take constructive critiscm from other musicians, but the guy above was an idiot who was leaving abusive messages on several of messages hence my reply.
Yeh we are big fans of Line 6 amps. We all own Mesa Boogies (Tremoverb, Roadking and Tri Axis), that we use in the studio etc, but Line 6 will always be used in my opinion. Great amps if you spend the time tweaking and finding the tones. Gear snobs will disagree, but they have probably never sat down with a Flex and played around. Thanks for your comment
Yeah, when I right songs I like to mix it up but I keep it fairly simple and I find most people like them better when they are like that. I just try to add complexity and depth into the actual playing with effects and cool riffs and stuff. Exactly why I like this song. Once my band gets some decent material recorded I'll send you a link.
Generally all our newer material is fairly complex in structure with time sig changes, odd measures, key changes, tempo changes. But the effects and playing are suitably 'mixed up' we are big effects users. Having 3 guitarists also allows you to layer guitar parts en mass.
Please do send me links, would be very interested to hear your band.
Don't worry, you'll be one of the first people I'll send it to, anywho. Yeah we do have a tendency to mess with time signatures maybe not like, 11/8 and like 17/16 or something crazy and what not but we use 5/4, 3/4 and signatures like that about as much as 4/4. I've realized I've been writing a lot of stuff now like your bands to haha.
Inspiration just comes from various influences musically, bands that i like etc. Playing with something new, whether it be a different guitar, different tuning, amp, effects pedal etc seems to bring new stuff out of me.
As soon as i sit down and TRY to write a song it sucks, new ideas just pop up. also comes with practice, i dont consider myself to be a good songwriter yet, still learning and tryin new things
search ''esp m-ii maple fingerboard on youtube and you will sound how awesome this amp sounds

Yo craig,
you havent made any videos in a long time, where youve been?
This song reminds me of a mixture between
Kinds of leon, avenged sevenfold, and pink floyd.

THIS FREAKING ROCKZ eccept the singer that really sucked
hejmedmigselv 2 years ago
This is briliant! Really mature and well thought out songwriting.
Sound quality ain't great, but that sounds pretty sick for a flextone. Any reason you're not using the Mesas?
Ratfish09 2 years ago
Sound quality is awful, but it was just a digital camera sitting at me feet next to my monior!
We didnt use Mesa's as the stage was very small and there r 6 of us, including 3 guiatarists who all play boogies, so not enough space
craigmcarthur1 2 years ago
damn i love the delay on that intro guitar part. kinda sounds like buckethead's "big sur moon." very cool guys.

im planning on getting one
i currently have a Peavey Valveking 112

thanks

You could do better than a valveking also, I would maybe concentrate your money on having one good amp as opposed to having two poorer amps.

craigmcarthur1 2 years ago
"Why am I leabing random messages" "oofended?" You can't even spell no wonder you suck at guitar, practice one skill at time. P.S. your band sucks.

Furtehrmore it is an old song of ours, in fact the first song we wrote together, if that offers any reasoning for its gayness

witch one is better ?
flextone II OR III?
i want to buy one ..and go to some band..

I won the flex II, the otehr two guys in the band have flex III's
If I was to buy one again it would be the flextone III, the floorboar is MUCH better for the Flex III

Thanks you, the black guitar is an Ibanez Universe, not sure of the exact model number.

Your Riffs Are Awesome!
How Do You Come Up With Them?
FlamingIceCubez 3 years ago
Thanks for the kind words. Errrm, myself and the two other guitarists just bounce ideas around and see what happens, sometimes we end up with a song!
craigmcarthur1 3 years ago
Well Yeah But Like, Do You Use Any Particular Scales Or Inspiration?

Inspiration just comes from various influences musically, bands that i like etc. Playing with something new, whether it be a different guitar, different tuning, amp, effects pedal etc seems to bring new stuff out of me.
