Why not? If the Earth is that soft go for it. The real nitpick is that you should not be putting your stakes in at a 45 degree angle, they should be nearly vertical. Any wind or force on your tent is going to come from the side, and having the stake at a 45 means there is less Earth keeping the stake in the ground. It also makes it very easy for the stake to rock upwards and unearth itself.
those are the worse stake you could ever buy, I recommend the MSR Ground Hog as the best stake money can buy for your 3 season tents

don't forget about guylines.
in real badweather they help distribute the force of the wind across the surface of the tent and willl prevent tears.
sometimes two lines are run from each guyout in the worst weather
use a taut line knot to adjust the guylines too, the eagle scout can show you that.
