I was sitting on the train on Sunday listening to this and crying. Someone came back to my life after about 20 years, held me close, promised me more and disappeared. I still can't forget. I still do wait for the phone.. there were so many late night calls in the spring. It's pathetic I can't let go.

@dadsgirl0423 I lost my best friend a few years ago as well. It was my mother, I was several hours away from home settling into my new life in a new town. Got a call at 2 am she was fading fast. Made it there in time to make the choice to pull the plug. Never did get to say goodbye. So I feel your pain.

@dadsgirl0423 You will never truly know how important someone is to you until you have lost them. It's very sad, if you have gone 2 years, as much as it hurts you can continue to live. He is waiting for you, your time just hasn't come yet, don't give up. Live how he would want you to, and all the choices in your life you can dedicate to him. Life is too short to be down all the time, make the best of everyday and live for him, make him proud and live your life to fullest before your time is up.

@dadsgirl0423 I lost my father at 14, he is alive, but not in my life, and i dont understand why it happened, or what he was thinking, and whenever family tells me to go see him, that he wants to see me, i just die a little inside, its even as far as them getting angry because i "Wont give him a chance" but i did, he threw me away, he threw all of us away, and i have forgiven him. and i love him. sometimes i think it would have been easier if he had died instead.

so dont feel left out on pain cause we are ALL feeling it..this is a awful world that just takes everything from everyone

Your father wouldnt want you to be sad about his passin he'd want you to celebrate for the life he had with you and your family. Your father lost the most important things in his life but he will never completely lose you n your family.

I cry everytime I hear this song because it reminds me of my 25yr old son Aaron who was killed Nov. 20/05 in a bad accident (he was driving a big Semi when he hit black ice and rolled). Just like the son says "not a day goes by that I don't think of him". I still love you my son.

This song reminds me of a friendship I had with a totally marvelous guy. We met at a time when I was submerged in depression and he helped me overcome it in a way I never imagined possible. He boosted my self-esteem and made me want to live again. Unfortunately he decided to end the friendship.
