In the movie the part where Rob sneaked back into Costa Rica and everyone was rallying for sharks was because a Costa Rican was trying to catch footage of sea turtles being caught on longlines when he got the footage of the fisherman hacking the fins off of a blue shark. The public saw it and they were right in the middle of rallying when Rob showed up.
I saw an interview with a guy saying "fish doesn't feel pain, kill them is not a problem" my reaction => WTF is that stupid man? Oo

Most of the oxygen(about 70%) we breath comes from the ocean produced by phytoplankton, and sharks play a big roll in this, they eating fish which eat phytoplankton. If sharks go extinct the fish population will grow and they'll being consuming all the phytoplankton, I'm sure you hate breathing,
And Chickens are important as well, their excrement keeps greenhouse gases in the soil instead of the air.

All that meat you eat can give you heart disease, strokes, raise your blood pressure, etc. Having a healthy vegetarian diet has many benefits, although I doubt you could understand being that you aren't a vegetarian.

Any racist comment just take attention away from the issue here. The extent of the decline in shark numbers is obscene and will only change If countries like China, an costa rica allow limits to certain species of sharks and numbers. An independent organisation must be introduced soon as I feel the goverment/s have done to little to late. Few people understand that many sharks require 20+ years to be sexually mature enough to produce other sharks. How many will be left in another 20?

beautiful movie, my favorite animal is the shark and people always look at me like im crazy when i say im going to save the sharks as a marine biologist and swim with them, they say i will die. of course i don't listen to them, like he says in this movie, if they wanted to eat people a lot more people would be dead because of them. i don't understand why we call the lion magnificent and we label the shark as a killer. The less we know about sharks the more people fear about them.

@marinelife4eva Beautiful, yet hard to watch at the same time. I'm glad the movie inspired you to become a marine biologist and I hope everything works out for you. I think a lot of it can be contributed to the JAWS series though. I mean if there was a blockbuster series on killer lions I imagine the masses would fear them as well. I think a lot of it has to do with us being out of our element when in the water also, it's a whole other world. You always fear what you don't understand I guess.

I watched these 2 documentaries in my marine science class, and sharkwater change my whole view of sharks... and the cove is a sad but GREAT story of what people have been doing to these poor animals every year.... Hopefully the world will see these videos... Maybe we can make a great impact in our society, and help save these creatures we share the earth with.

The world will be saved by the individual. Whether it is refusal to buy plastic bottled water, or stop eating shark fin soup or just turn off that damn television, if the consumer stops consuming, if the individual stops buying, the big corps stop making money and they stop having power. Pressure Asian govts to give big media coverage for education of the people that shark fins are not medicinal, they are not for big status because they are so expensive, they are a dwindling resource because 90% of the worlds sharks have been slaughtered.If Japan, who is a big consumer, decided to educate the people, to make it not cool to eat shark fins, I think it would set a precedent because Japanese are the most educated and sophisticated in Asia and would be more williing to come onboard.

How can Sharks be so dangerous? i mean sharks are beautiful and we need them for survival and if they die out, we will die out because sharks control the food chain since they are on the 3rd trophic level of the food pyramid. I was inspired by Rob Stewart and I met him person because he came to my school and we were all trying to give the media awareness about this because of Rob, and we have to thank him for that. We should all volunteer on the website and raise awareness about sharks.
