Most American shows just buy bulk shells from China, but the Maltese actually have a unique and attractive style of their own that is passed on at the various fireworks factories on the island. It is hard for anyone to compete with a country that has fireworks so deeply embedded in their culture. They seem to be absolute experts in canister shell construction, and have perfected attractive break patterns with such shells. Not that I don't enjoy stateside shows also...
