If you want a hardware solution:

On the back cover there's a metal element near the camera hole which shorts a switch placed on the left to the microSD card. Just short it permanently with something.

i think so it's a not d permanent solution coz i have my mem.card filled with lots of stuff.repeatedly moving the file to phone memory which is having less memory will makes me irritated if we want any tone must be changed suddenly and if it again flushes from d settings in few min it makes me really irritated so,try to find better and permanent solution for it. i have a query "can i fix this by changing the cover/panel of d phone?"

does anyone know how to switch the memory car security on? i have reset the password and everything, but it doesn't ask me for the password when i go into the memory card! i know the password, and the optin is there to change it or delete it etc, but it wont ask me for it when i go in everytime :/ how do i switch it on? it asked me for it once when i first bought the fone, and never again after that, any help? thanks alot

u guys i have a serious problem with my 6500 slide and i'd real like some help.....i recently got my brand new bold and i was not using my 6500 slide as often as i use to....now that i want to use my phone cause it has my other sim card in it.....it won't charge or power on at all....i tires connecting the damn thing to the pc but the pc does not pick up the cell phone at all....i would really appreciate any help with this prob.

I got the same exact issue. The memory card reads on and off. After searching for answers , I fixed mine by messing with the tab close to the camera hole on the back cover. Now it works.

replacement battery covers are available on ebay - in the uk. however, the thing that connects with the phone and allows memory card activation can be manipulated to connect again, if not broken off. try bending the battery cover, also, in small increments so that there's a tighter connection. it's a silly design, for sure. but i fixed mine, myself. you can too...

i have the black 6500 slide.

basicly if i turn it off then when i turn it on it says message system not ready for like an hour.

another thing is it wont read my memory card at all. and it does work because i put it in another phone.

in the 3 shop there all wankers and told me that its a software thing on my phone, so they said go update it.

when i came to update it it took forever to do and now it still dosent work.

pissed off mann. can anyone help?

thanks for the tip dude, but, really it's not SOLVED. i mean, it's is right to save your wallpaper, ringtone, msg tone blah on phone memory. Most people would of figured that out.

dude... there is no problem with the 6500 slide phone... just take off the back cover and look at it.. it has some small "buttons" let`s say.. one of them.. the on close to the camera is pushing on a small wire which makes contact with your memory card.. stop acting like an intelligent ^_^

I have the same problem! It didn't tell me how to take the back off on the phone manual so i must've bent it... everytime i move the back cover when im using my phone normally it resets everything! I tried my dads phone cover and it doesn't fit right either but it fits ok on his

the thing with my phone is that the silver thing that holds and supports the memory card is broken off and without it the phone does not detect the memory card. So i was wondering if there is another way of supporting the memory card? Can someone please help me?

its a contact between the cover and the contacts on the phones back, the contact, for the mem stick is next to the camera....

and the contact of the cover, is next to the camera window...

when i take the memory card out, put it back it later and then play some music it stops after about 5 seconds and forgets the memory card is there and it becomes undetected.

i am getting the classic soon though, 1gb internal memory, great!
