@Skycrusher It's not supposed to be a show of skill, but merely to show what is possible to do with a game. How fast the game can be possibly beat, what kind of tricks can be done, and I guess it also shows a person's dedication to said game, as a TAS could potentially take a lot of time and effort to make.

The way I look at it, a TAS can act like a benchmark for those who do regular speedruns.

@Skycrusher that's the point of speed runs you don't necessarily have to use glitches, but you can use the exploitation of areas you never knew were there to get from point to point faster.you can beat act 1 of sonic 1 in about 24-26 seconds and people have been doing this LOOONG before TAS showed up so, any speed run (even without a TAS) is a showcase of exploitation, glitches, ect. ect. cause that's just how speed runs work. and btw this TAS didn't show off any glitches.

Back in the spring of '98, I didn't really enjoy Sonic 3D Blast over the more conventional Game Gear and Genesis Sonic titles.

i can,t see why this version was a insuccus, becouse it had nice graphics,sound,animations,cool intro and cool effects, it squeezed the console to it,s limmit.

compare to to snes super mario rpg, the graphics are good but it feels more like staring to a encyclopedy ,also if you want to traveling those levels,you get allway,s intterrupted by a batle system to ficht against koopa,s.

short this game is a must have.

OMFG THIS GAME LOOKS AND PLAYS AMAZING. i understand donkey kong for the snes has great graphics that gave the snes some breath to even fight the newer consoles, but doesn't this game give the mega drive some amazing control of your character in a 3d environment (something that would later only be completely achieved with the nintendo 64)? just saying, this looks amazing, and i wish i had played more of this game

I have to admit, I liked this game. I don't really know why, but I do. The music is pretty awesome, and the graphics are insane considering this is a 16-bit console. Sonic has a dynamic shadow... Most PS1 games didn't even use this! The 16-bit and 32-bit eras were awesome. :D
