i guess main ingradient od clorox powder is calcium hipoclorite and brake fluid being glycol-eter, you get the oxidation products : a carbon dioxide, steam, clorine gas and depending on conditions , other chlorine-carbon compounds

not mustard gas because for mustard gas you would need also another element not present in the reaction.

@linuxpowerification Actually under certain conditions its a liquid, but at room temperatures it is a gas, also an acid and will crystallize into salts . When we used in water treatment, we were trained to keep away from organic material such as oils so as not to create fires. Once wiped my hands on towel I thought was clean but had grease on it, imediately my hands became warm and the towel ignited 5 minutes later in the trash can.. Got to be careful with that stuff.

The only thing to worry about in this reaction is the slight presence of formaldehyde. Not enough to do anything to you, really, but repeat exposure may not be healthy. That and acetaldehyde are the gases produced, but it's mostly just particulate smoke. Quite harmless really, except for the heat.

DOT 3 and 4 are the same DOT 4 just has a higher boiling point. just dont use DOT 5 its silicone based brake fluid won't work.

it turns into nitric acid in your lungs. Which mustard gas are you refering to? if its chlorine, like used in WW1 than its the same mechanism, Cl mixes with the water in your lungs to make HCl. Sulfur Mustard, like Sadam used, is a different beast entirely.

the age of the fluid shouldn't matter. Check the bag, if you use "stabilized chlorine", it won't work. That stuff has a totally different chemical formula than this stuff. The stuff in this video is a chemical like "Sock-It" pool chlorine, just NH2CL. The "stabilized" stuff is a much longer chemical formula (it escapes me at the moment) which is formulated to resist breakdown in the water due to UV interaction and such.

This works cuz i just did it 5 minutes ago, i found this out like 5 years ago..its pretty crazy...although mine was a large fireball about 2feet tall i should have filmed it. you have to get the right concentration of fluid with powder...the chlorine has to be around 60 to 70 percent and the brake fluid about 40 to 30....basically the chlorine oxidizes the brake fluid, increasing entropy...positive delta S
