  • sukoi

  • the sway because they are on shock absorbers so they dont collapse when there is one

  • It looked like it was swaying cos of the clouds to me lol! Couldnt tell as camera wasnt still!

  • wtf 0:12 kawaaaaaaai ! xD

  • @xxNighthawkxx she was saying kowaii. which means scary. close though.

  • @xxNighthawkxx she doesn't say kawaii, she says KOwai, and it means, I am scared or how frightening.

  • Im so glad none of you guys are hurt.

many people died... and oh my.. my heart hurts when I think about it.

My dream is going to Japan. and hopefully when I get there we can all be safe!

  • In japan and china, a building/house cannot be built without using the chinese technique of feng shui (pronounced Fung Shway) and is given the approval that the building has the corect technique of Feng Shui from a Feng Shui Master of the corporation that is hired to make the building/house. This building has poor Feng Shui work, but not poor enough to hwere it would collapse.

  • He sounds like a northern British man. "YOU CAN SEE THE WINDERRRS!"

  • Believe that was built in 1978 :). 209 Meters / 50 Floors =).

  • THIS IS CREEPY.

This was uploaded on March 10 2011.

But the Japan earthquake was on March 11. Weird, Coincidence?

  • @xOxSweet238LipsxOx It was likely uploaded on March 11th in Japan, which would have been March 10th in the US.

  • @richbly Ohhhh Lol I feel so dumb. So I guess it's the same thing here in Canada then eh.

  • @xOxSweet238LipsxOx Time zones...japan is ahead of the united states by almost 13 hours so it was still the 10th here when the earthquake happened

  • holy shit, the thing swings like almost 10 degrees on each side D:

  • oh its swayin'! :D

  • Shouldn't build tall skyscrapers in an area prone to earthquakes.

  • Here's another video, shows how much it's swaying. Search mihdd, "japan earthquake skyscraper dancing" I think the name is.

  • WHAT THE HELL., Video uploaded on Mar 10, 2011, but

Video title: Swaying building in Shinjuku 11-03-2011

What does this mean?! ...o-oh. Different date formats.

  • Wanna have a rave in there while its swaying! best party ever :)

  • @mrcodypettit youd crap your pants if u were there

  • @zerosonico yeah but if i was high it would be a different story :)

  • "you can see the windows meat head"

  • @ChroniclesofHuff

Best comment on here so far! LOL

  • IIIIIITTTTSSS GOOOOODZILLLA!!!!

  • "kowaaaiiiii" in the backround (sorry that was just so cute)

  • that would scare the fuck out of me.

  • I'd like to be on top of that building while it's swinging like that!

I already have a need-to-pee feeling in my stomach wile being on a regular swing!

  • Wow. This happened a month from now

  • they need more buildings like this

  • I'm not scared of tornados, hurricanes or any other natural disaster but earthquakes scare the crap out of me!

  • @SuperDollface27 i know what you mean, you can see and escape tornadoes and hurricanes, but you can not outrun an earthquake and you don't know when it's coming. I remember waking up at 2 in the morning once because of a strong earthquake, i was so scared i ran out the house like crazy.

  • people in building holding on something. someone pukes.

    S*** it's coming towars me

  • @citybuster if u watch the clouds around the building the building moves away from the clouds

  • Nomura building. I was there on the 48th floor on March 11. It did feel like the end of the world. Quite unforgettable. Thames

  • @jiankabe glad you were ok ... it must have been horrifying . We get Earthquakes in California but not at this magnitude ... Take care of yourself !

  • Did the building sway or was it your camera?

  • Japanese are genious's to be able to make buildings to withstand that

  • Wow, it sway a lot!!!

  • Holyyy shiittttt ...

  • Now that what I called safe design. Why can't Los Angeles,SF, Mexico City, Seattle and Chinese cities have earthquake proof buildings?

  • @Artho You do realize they do, don't you?

  • @fallendeacon mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I see.

  • News to all, ALL skyscrapers from ANY country are designed to sway to illeviate structural degradation.

  • @19thaman79 nyc would be leveled by the quake that hit japan.

  • Hi guys, see here the effect of wind in a 28 floor building !

    /watch?v=4ZbqLFC0Sfc

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but.... aren't those buildings in Japan designed to sway to counter earthquakes? I remember hearing about it.

  • @v0ngolavsky Yes they are. Not only that, but they have been designed to withstand (in terms of force vs resonance) up to magnitude 10 earthquakes (Not much would be standing any ways at mag 10. You would see ground ripples from 10 on up to 12. In theory at least, )

  • i would probably shit my pants if i was in that earthquake

  • The worst part is when the earthquake becomes neutral... when the building is swaying just by itself after the quake ends @___@

  • And it's a good thing those buildings sway so much, so that the frequency of the vibrations gets reduced profoundly. Think of it like setting a metronome to a lower tempo.

  • amakatayio

  • i just felt like a 1.7 earthquake or something on the 3rd floor of my house that lasted for like 1 second and my house shook noticeably. that cant be good can it? How would a more powerful one affect it?

  • I can see Shinjuku from my home.

  • Scary but cool to see that it will resist on large earthquake.

I agree that it is a safest skyscraper in the world.

Japan develops its unique earthquake -shock absorbent technology as like a suspension and flexuble steel with room to sway for its earthquake Island.

  • ビルって振り子で揺れを和らぐらし

  • @aibobb2002 huh?

  • Damn!!!

  • wow seriously scary! but that womens voice is annoying

  • dizzy

  • good thing japan built the bases of buildings really deep. would have been alot worse.

  • @irishpures not exactly how deep it is there is a reckoning ball type of thing when the building swade to the left the ball went to the right so the metal was bendable. All perpously

  • @irishpures it's not really about deep foundations. It's more about advanced structures that make whole construction flexible and able to absorb tremor energy

  • needed a reference point

  • @woods9447 the clouds =)))

  • @woods9447 if you used the clouds behind it you could see how far it was swaying

  • @woods9447 and the light standard for a few seconds. U can tell its swaying, not like its going to look like a tree in the wind.....

  • @woods9447 the cloud its by worked pretty well but i agree

  • @woods9447 - You want a reference point... Look at one of the clouds.

  • @thetrainman407 OH I got it !!! So the building is running away to the left ?

  • freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • all of the world say "omg"

    I am from Brazil

  • WOW !
