It doesn't matter what they were doing in '76, because no one listened to them, nor did they have any major recordings. It's like saying your band formed in '93, but you didn't have any recognition until 2005.

Having said that, you should have an eclectic digest of music, if only to help mold you into a more well-rounded person. And the Descendents should definitely be on that fucking list. \m/
