Your comment applies to many presentations by economic theorists. Too much notation is indeed distracting. For that reason, I used lighter notation than the original paper does. But I didn't eliminate the symbols completely, since economic theorists (one of the targeted audiences) like them. To them, the lack of symbols means too little notation or too much English!
