  • so gay

  • ALL THAT HAIR.

  • I'll advocate for one, LOL, thanks!

  • this is just sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A definitive teeny bopper one-hit wonder...in all its charms.

  • @arkady714 two-hit wonder, actually.. LOL

  • @Bigearn003 I remember only this song charting. What was the other?

  • @arkady714 Abra-ca-dabra

  • @Bigearn003 I don't think I ever heard that one, but there you go. I was one of those (nerd) kids who (at least thought he) owned every 45 rpm on the market. Thanks for the info.

  • This song is mentioned in Resevoir Dogs movie at the dinner table. HAD to look it up.!

  • Unapologetic lip syncing!

  • I really like this song. It is the epitome of a catchy pop song.

I also like the skill of older brother, he can sing, he can dance, he can be stage hand all at once. lol 2:00 as he repositions a mic stand in the way of the show.

  • One of A.M. radios finest songs.

  • looks like an episode of the Brady Bunch. But still brings back old memorries.

  • You must have STD's of the brain moron...your reply just proved it. Your shear ignorance proves it and pity your diseased demented mind. It solidifies my description of you; dumbed down so much that leftists use you as a useful idiot.

  • You are not making any sense. Your education is so poor that you need to go back to school; bet leftist teachers kept you so dumbed down for controlling purposes.

  • @pgs5719 Is this really the place to discuss race, STDs, etc.? It's a comment page on A DEFRANCO FAMILY VIDEO!!! Fucking loser you are.

  • @thutton67 You are the demented/loser one; pity your deficient/drug or STD damaged mind...it shows dude/gal.

  • Those were the good old days.

  • and dont forget the cowsills and the pat boone family and the boones sisters to also

  • This is better than anything from 2011!!

  • @dakert40 ??? Really?? The Defrankco Family is better than anything from this year? Grimes? Purity Ring? James Blake? Paolo Nutini?? Korallreven? Alabama Shakes?? Toro Y Moi, The Sandwitches (I'm no Beyoncé fan but Countdown is pretty amazing), Dum Dum Girls, WHITE DENIM??? Really if you can't find any better music than this, in 2011, you gotta go to an Ear Doctor. Defrankco family was pretty much the nadir of western music

  • the Canadian Osmonds

  • This is just so full of 70's awesome. Love the song, the dance moves, purely sensational

  • I remember this song. Fun.

  • I had such a crush on Tony...not as much as Donny, tho!

  • @MissCat1958 I had such a crush on his sisters. Not as much as Toni Tennille though.

  • @Sarasdad91 What happened to all the fun that came from music? Now you have to censor music before you can let your children listen because of language and content. I miss the Osmonds, the Defrancos, the Jacksons, the BeeGees...*sigh*

  • I miss the days of the 1970's and 1980's dance groups compared to disgusting/condescending rap and most hip hop chatter of today; glorifying animal gang violence, sexism, sexual perversion, stupidity and racism. No wonder why most minorities today have criminal records and STD's because some lyrics encourage risky sexual acts.

  • @pgs5719 very ignorant comment.

  • @jlong908 you are just imbecilic in your reply due to the fact your brain can't read more than a sentence; retarded beyond repair.

  • @pgs5719 not all rap is like that. rap is the first type of music to actually tell the listeners what was really happening in the streets and in their households.

  • @pgs5719 oh poor PGS. Calling strangers retarded from the confines of a dank little room. Who is the one beyond repair? Who's the one with no soul? I'll give you a hint, he's the one defending the Defranco family....

  • Comment removed

  • @pgs5719 really, criminal records and stds are limited to minorities? I am worried for you. Because you think that lyrics cause std's are caused by music you are at great risk.. or perhaps the syphilis has already affected your brain.

  • @pgs5719 so many minorities? How about "so many young people"? Racist douchebag.

  • @thutton67 So condescending your reply...why don't you go to the medical clinic and check yourself for STD's. Remember some STD's affect your mind years later when it establishes itself. Face the harsh reality today and don't be in self denial; minorities today are like that and so are stupid young white trash that ape black animal rapper thugs. I hope you have enough brain cells to comprehend what I just put into your thought.

  • @pgs5719 Regardless of it being teenie bopper music these kids were talented and could actually sing ! Real talent. As you say compare this or ANY music from 50s 60s 70s and even 80s to todays talentless crap..full of vulgar illiterate garbage..what will kids these days have to look back on? Also do you notice no 2 groups or individuals sounds the same back then ? INDIVIDUALISM !! Today = Sheeple...

  • K-Billy's Super Sounds of the Seventies.

  • While still stars in the mid-'70s, Nino was working the counter at Beechlers Music in Encino. Beechlers was a top music store in the San Fernando Valley. The DeFrancos would often come down to bring Nino his lunch, or just hang out. Gary Busey, film star of the Buddy Holly Story, was a regular. One day, I got to jam with Benny, Nino, and the bass player of soul group, The Ohio Players. Benny was a killer guitarist. The DeFrancos were well-respected musicians, despite the bublegum image.

  • Gay.

  • @TheRonaldo666 shut up

  • its greats

  • After hearing the version from The Replacements, hearing a little kid sing these lyrics is just dirty.

  • Those pants are so tight I can tell what religion he is.

  • @TheTubePortal polyester definitely had that clingy thing going on.

  • Are they all wearing Doc Marten's?

  • hah...are you sure about that?? Mmmm...sexyyyy!

  • what are they wearing? I want one :)

  • They were from my home town --Port Colborne...take me back!!

  • Takes me back......... my cousin dragged me to the local mall to see these guys playing cuz she loved Tony DeFranco.

  • Resorvoir Dogs brought me here

  • Bell bottoms yeah!

  • Nice outfits--and people complain about the fashion we got now--Bring back the 70's then.

  • Ahhhh the 70's when everybody was 3" taller. LOL

  • yeah! things were alot better then it's so scary everything has went down the toilet

  • Yeah, heartbeat it's a lovebeat....

  • Heard this song the other day on K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70s

  • I had a huge crush on Tony..... my heart beat.....lol

  • So cheezy but so much fun....god the girls looked good in that group!!!

  • @crazyromanian1 agreed!

  • @HaywardEntertainment Thanks, this is good stuff compared to a lot of today's entertainment.

  • @crazyromanian1 ACE, ACE, and, ACE!! =>The best of the best song!<= and a great Canadian group...and no it is not cheezy but yes the girls looked good. This music is better than the music of today.

  • @crazyromanian1 Hey fancy meeting you here, my Latin friend! My daughter went to her doctor and heard her child's "heartbeat" today using ultra sound, so I quickly pulled this song out so I could play it to her on my laptop while she was telling me about it. I know it was a "cheezy" thing to do, just like this song...as you so aptly noted, LOL! Peace, my friend!!!

  • @strictlycomments Congrats on the new member of the family!!!! Bless that child with a beautiful Latin name. I still love this song.

  • "I hadnt heard it since the fifth-fucking-grade"

    Mr. Pink

  • love the clothes love those straight legs flare at the bottom with those platforms .. cool look.and trim too not fat and out of shape like today . . the clothes were cool !

  • That little greaseball really can sing.

  • Hey look its Justin Bieber

  • @orpheus2112 - Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that...not to mention they're both from Canada, so yeah, I think Tony DeFranco was the Bieber of his generation.

  • Their career lasted for about half an hour. Far too typical.

  • amazing 70's teen pop!

  • Man.... after listening to this song and seeing what we were wearing back then, forget the 60's, how did ever survive the 1970's in one piece!! LOL

  • I haven't heard this song in about 38 years!!!! I still think that the Partridge Family's "I think I love You" is the best song of this genre.

  • They're sweet because they're a bit spazzy and innocent---(they'd never make it today). It makes them endearing.

  • I was 15 and loved and still love this song. I have the 45...can't believe I'm already 52...

  • @cindylcain59 I feel the same! We are the same age. Love this song! It brings back some good memories. Didnt we have a great decade in the 70's for music?

  • They had a few minor to median hits, then faded to oblivion, like the vast majority of music acts. Longevity is the most difficult consideration in the music business.

  • I LOVE Tony DeFranco! I carried around the 45 record cover when I was 10 pretending it was a picture of my husband when my friend and I played "married women". lol I heard he went on to become a paramedic, which i find very admirable!

  • @LynHerron Really? Bobby Sherman went on to become a paramedic as well. Wonder if they ever worked in the same area and performed their old hits when they were off duty? Not likely, I know.

  • I give them credit and merit.

  • It's a shame aliens took them away.... (Don't believe me ? try to find even a trace of them)

  • I remember the song but that is it....

  • The chorus of this song is kinda dirty...

  • the sisters look very cute mmmmm

  • Did Jackson 5 ever compete with them?

  • Their poster people for the horrows of anorexia

  • i would love to taste his nectar

  • What a well written song.

  • This was a great song - loved the heartbeat sound used thru this song...only saw the singer's face in Teen Beat or Tiger magazine pictures....

  • This was a great great song.. Love that bubblegum pop sound the music and all of it the young American sound.. I never get tired of it

  • From the very first k tel album i ever listened to-Sound Explosion, i still have it. This song brings me back.

  • The Replacements' version was better.

  • Ah Family acts! They don't perform like that anymore...

  • The Jacksons and The Osmonds were sucessful; What happened to The DeFrancos? Did they fall through the cracks? Let me know.

  • In fairness to "The Defranco's" I think they did well. They never had the training that "The Osmonds" had. I love Tony's voice. "The Osmonds" all learned to play instruments from the time they were kids. The song is adorable. Times were different during the 70's and 80's. I miss when kids were just kids.

  • @2Catangel The biggest mistake was that they were Marketed to be "LIke" The Osmonds which was a very big mistake. It's like trying to make "Family" Groups like The Sylvers, The Jets and even Debarge the "Next" Jackson Five and it never happens. Their Life Stories are so sad. Aids, Prison, Legal Problems and the like was their downfall.

  • @laminage I guess some could think they were marketed or modeled after "The Osmonds" however there is simply no comparison. They eventually wanted Tony only, as did they Donny. A lot of people forget that the besides being a family that sang together "The Osmonds" produced great music. Merrill still has a killer voice!

  • @2Catangel I didn't know that. Very interesting and the same thing that happened to Donny happened with Michael Jackson at Motown and even El Debarge.

  • @laminage I had no idea that their life stories where so sad. Shame what happened to people in life especially the ones that have to deal with fame and fortune so early in life. I still remember that song growing up in the 70's. Not a bad song either. Seems the older tunes always sound better later in life. :-)

  • @laminage: Absolute rubbish! I became friends with Nino and Benny in the '70s - and met the family through them. During my 12 years in Hollywood, at WB and other labels - they were the most level-headed and humble band I'd ever met. They are all excellent musicians, especially Benny.

Last I heard, Tony is selling high-end real estate, Benny and Nino are in the film industry, and the girls are homemakers. You can't be a teen idol forever. That doesn't mean you're not happy or successful.

  • @TubeNumber1USA I think you misunderstood what I said. I didn't know that The Defranco Family were singling Tony out but he was lucky because his family never forgot that they were Family first and a Band second. I think it's great that the Family did so well. As for being a Teen Idol forever, that's so true. Where do you think Justin Beiber is going to be in Ten Years.

  • @laminage Justin Beiber well be in a rehab center

  • mr pink sent me here

  • wow am getting old

  • Dig them bell-bottoms! They look like an Osmond family wanna beess! LOL! Especial with the dancing and corriography!

  • Dig them bell-bottoms!

  • tony was cooler than donnie! agree!

  • Was a good song, but this kid singer really sucked - a cracker boy's rip off on Michael Jackson

  • This is real music positive up beat music. The reason why this group didn't last very long is this, the Elite behind the the media have an whole other agenda, to inspire fear, hopelessness, misery, etc and this is the last type of music they desire on their airwaves as they play their part for their Jesuit masters new world order.

  • @Dragongod462 - you're a fucking idiot - a real fucktard living in a delusional world up to your neck in slimy thick dog shit.

  • I had the biggest crush on this kid...lol

  • This was a favorite on the Skating Rink jukebox! Great times!

  • it's on my 45 lp thing. I can play it onthe record player if I just plug the thing in but it's so much easier to play on computer ! WOW !

  • @ahfaxthis the computer is much easier, but there nothing better than listening to an original 45 on a turn table.Guess you just gotta love em' to enjoy them.

  • And to think I was gonna be Mrs Defranco....

  • If my son ask me "What kind of music do you listened at my age?" i gonna tell him that there was no other music, only 50's 60's 70's 80's & middle 90's....never existed AUTO-TUNE :)

  • 16 retards accidently hit the dislike button :-(

  • I did read not too long ago that he was embarrassed about this time in his life. I wonder why? I loved the song then and still do.

  • Wow, I remember watching this on tv. Tony what cutee.

  • Who don't remember this song. I just loved them back in the day of the 70's forgot all about them until now someone posted it to facebook. Good Job Tony:)

  • cute sisters mmmmm

  • OMG! This was my fave song when I was a kid in the 70's :)

  • So this is basically the Osmonds if you remove the talent?

  • Is it normal for someone to want to dropkick each and every one of these people, one by one?

  • the last 5 osmond children

  • I can't believe Tarantino referenced this.

    what a pile of shit.

  • "Hi, Mrs. DeFranco. I've come to take out your daughter. And I brought her a present. I want her to open it right now. It's SOME SHAMPOO."

  • Absolutely LOVED this group. They came-out with their tunes during the Donny & Marie Era... True! But; being a Canadian Group... They didn't get the publicity of their American counterparts! D'OH!!

  • I think of the Brady Bunch, when they were trying to earn money to buy an anniversary gift for the parents went on a TV show and sang ... lol I just love this song!!!

  • Please stop comparing this clown to Donny Osmond.

Yes, obviously this was the studio trying to reproduce the Osmonds success so there are a lot of similarities on the surface, but when you get beyond the surface Donny Osmond was immensely talented as a kid, had a tremendous singing voice with incredible range and was a naturally great dancer too.

He was not a studio creation like so many teen idols, even hardened veterans in the music business were in awe of Donny Osmond's talent.

  • Comment removed

  • Please make it stop. My ears are still bleeding.

  • Donny Osmond clone.

  • Donny Osmond wanna be lol

  • I HAD SUCH A CRUSH ON TONY!!!

  • Great choreography...And way back in the day, Tiger Beat magazine asked its readers the burning question: Should Tony continue to blowdry his hair straight or go with his natural curls? (I think the curly look won out).

  • OMG what the Fu*K is this ? Menudo?

  • the last time i heard this song was 1990 i was thinking it was the osmonds, from long ago1972-1974 dam now the time has more than doubled

  • I miss days, songs like this,,, we had grown up in a Super Cool Groovy time,, Thanks God,, I enjoyed my youth.,,, hey what nationalilty were they,,cuban,, latino?? just think what thye started for these other groups later on today,,

  • I remember taking my 8 yr old daughter to their concert....what a cool mom I was back then...lol...suzi

  • "Heartbeat, It's a Lovebeat" by Littly Tony Defranco and the Defranco Family. I haven't heard that song since I was in the fifth fuckin grade.

  • Ah, vintage 70s cheez... About as classy as Velveeta & Champale.

  • His generations Justin Bieber. Better enjoy that ride, Biebs. It's a short one...

  • Whatever happened to these people? Oh yeah. they grew up. Seriously-they exploded on the scene and gone-just like that. Well they were there when they were there and i am grateful.

They sure weren't some "cover' band getting famous off of someone elses' hits like the Bay City rollers!

  • the person singing lead is a boy? o.O i thought it was a girl..my bad..

  • @itsKaylaaH That's what ALL boys looked like then. Examples: David Cassidy, Bobby Sherman, Leif Garrett. If you want to see what girls looked like, google Sinead O'Connor!

  • Check out the shoes!

  • I would have banged that little biotch right into the 80's

  • Catchy enough song...but yeah, Tony DeFranco was basically the Justin Bieber of the mid-70s!

  • Hey now...I had a crush on that kid too...WHEN I WAS 4 YEARS OLD...lol. Damn I'm old. I still have the 45...and for your information kids, a 45 was a single song record, NOT A GUN..... =)

  • @nihonjinonnanochitsu Ha! Ha! Yeah, but having the long haired one there to offer encouragement would have been over the top!

  • I'm 51 and this brings back so many memories. Love it.

  • Were these guys hispanic or italian? can't tell sometimes, DeFranco.

  • @hotathlete2 They were Italian-Canadian.

  • I used to love this song. I was like 11 or 12 years old when it came out. :0)

  • Check out the phasin' gimmick in the song. The DeFrancos hit #3 in Billboard, 11-17-73. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • It's the dance moves, the hair and the fact that the girls are covered head to toe that makes me smile!! What a change from today's videos with women. It's all about sex and black leather. Whatever sells..

  • @sylinparadise relying on talent, w/ a little devout Italian Catholic thrown in! :o)

  • @sylinparadise relying on talent, w/ a little devout Italian Catholic thrown in! :o)

Leaves a bit to the imagination.........

  • @sylinparadise I couldn't agree more. I'm so glad that I was a part of that. I wouldn't want to be a teenager today.

  • @sylinparadise - Well said. It's been a challenge raising teens to value themselves and others as human beings (w/ hearts & souls not just physiques) with so many of today's pop stars doing their singing while shaking around their scantily clad body parts. However, since we love our children, we must keep working at it. So far, I think we're winning. Best Wishes To You.

  • Oh man I loved this. I was waaay to cool and "hard rock" to admit it back then though. Thanks for posting this and and to any surviving DeFranco Family members reading the comments- Well done! That was a fun, catchy little tune you had

  • Trust me folks, he's still a babe.

  • i mean cute sisters mmmm

  • cute sistsers mmmm

  • the kids can sing and hes cute!

  • i loved this song as a young girl and i still do it is a really great song Tony and the Defranco family thank u so much and God bless all your desires in this life we miss u

  • It's fun to remember this music.
