As far as I can check the Islamic sources, neither Allah nor Muhammad ever laid out any rules for Muta. All Muta is, is legalized prostitution. The "marriage" is simply shameful, with the sole objective to "divorce" the women after they have quenched the men's lusts. How is this not prostitution already? You pay a woman a small agreed fee and you are "married" for an agreed time period.

However, the rules set for muta is that it must have a time limit, the woman is refferred to as your wife and treated with the same rights and after muta there is a set period of time before the woman can marry, idda (3 month period), the last rule makes prostitution impossible. Look up rules of muta.

Prostitution is paying for sex, in islam muta' or no muta there is a payment that signifies a bond when any type of marraige is made.. In muta or no muta marraige consent of both woman and man is needed which seperates it from prostitution and ontop of that she cannot re-marry, muta or otherwise, until a period of 1 month (40 days) has passed from her last muta marraige, this makes prostitution impossible

I am from the West and I do agree completely with you; beside not being an ignorant fuckwad like these two I know that 'temporary marriage' is a very old custom of Shi'a muslims, hailing back from the time of merchant caravans and pilgrimages, when pious Shi'a would leave their wife at home and secure a 'travel wife' to care after him (and also have sex with him) during the trip.
So even if this is true it's part of their Culture.
