  • I agree, this is jazz at its best, today with with all the junk commercial trash, there needs to be a music revolution!!!!

  • Much appreciation and respect to the late great Carter Jefferson. A DC musical giant!

  • ♥ .

  • I stop by often to listen to Carter, such a gifted artist. We in met in LA many years ago...when he was touring with Little Richard, early 60's. Who could have imagined that he would become such a serious musician?

  • Carter Jeffersons playing is unbelievable. After hearing him on Stepping STones I was sold for life. Thanks for posting this. I need to find this album!!!

  • @grifbangemup I know man. I've listened to Stepping Stones so many times. The trading between Woody and Carter is incredible.

  • @nnigle That's Terumasa Hino on trumpet, not Woody Shaw. Hino is greatly influenced by Woody. Woody had perfect pitch and flawless intonation.

  • @WoodyShawdotcom I'm not talking about this recording, I was talking about Stepping Stones, specifically the recording of them playing at the VV.

  • Thank you for your support! He was my stepfather :). He would appreciate this.

  • One of the unsung heros of the music. Loved him with Woody Shaw's group. Woody's sound is all over this album that he produced. Wish the young cats today were up on Carter...
