That is a rare snake, but if you looked at the southern episode of Man, Woman, Wild they kill one and use it as bait to catch crawfish. I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure bc I collect pictures of snake patters / colors for artwork in nyc.
the only reason to catch a snake is if it's on the road before someone runs it over. then place it where it was pointed. otherwise it's best to leave them be as they have in important job to do and time is of the essence. small window of opportunity and many dangers exist. not easy being reptiles and phibians in 21st century.
Cool snakes, hard to find. I have only seen one wild mudsnake. I caught it and it was exactly 5ft. on the spot. They are very beautiful snakes, prettiest I have even caught probably.
ssuckerr and pythonattack this is the kapua mud snake only they dont show the colour change but it does imalso a big fan of snakes they always amazed me how strong and still very agile they are
I live in Ripley County, Missouri and I am a big snake lover . I have studied them since I was very young. I have known the difference between the venomous and the non-venomous for a long time as well. I like to observe the snakes that live in there woods by my house.
I am happy, and surprised, to see a youtube page all about the snakes of the great state of Missouri.
they are one of the coolest snakes in my opinion

Beautiful animal. Thanks for posting. Too bad they're difficult to keep in captivity, I'd love to start a breeding effort for these.
