aw was in dublin, in a bar and the guy singin started talking about annie moore, oh my gosh i got sooo excited, he seemed shocked that i knew the song... i welled up listening to it, and sung my heart out! then he sang spanish lady for me... i woke up with no voice! as good as he was, and as much as i loved it, i prefer and always will, celtic woman i wish it was them i heard live!
I've been singing this song from memory since I saw them perform it once at the last Celtic Woman concert I was able to go to (two years ago about). I listened to it now and can't believe I was able to remember it exactly from hearing it only once. I'm buying this song right away, it's my favorite one by far. :)
I am Italian, not Irish, but I am going to move to the US in two weeks.. and this song gives me very deep feelings.. sadness for what I am going to leave, hope for what I am going to get, and I can distinctly see myself walking the path that many of my fellow countrymen walked in the last century.. away from home, towards opportunity..
My ancestors came over from Scotland and Ireland, through Ellis Island...this song makes me respect my heritage much more. Keep on doing what you're doing, Celtic Woman - your music blesses all of us in so many ways :)
@8SexahBitch8 Somehow I doubt that someone who calls themselves "sexah Bitch" has enough self respect to sing this song with the humble beauty present in the original...
Loving hunger, pain, tears, and fears make us human. We can't be human if we don' t feel anything negitive. We live in a balance of hatred and love, tears and smiles, but most of all, we live in a world of family, friends, and people who make us feel special. All we can do is thank any type of god, or whatever you believe in for this wonderful life we live in. Live your life how you want to. :)
A beautiful, timeless song! Anyone who says America is stupid, and it's people are uneducated or whatever, needs to look back in history and realize how many people came here from different countries to get a new start in life! So many foreign people appreciate the opportunities America has given them, and we can't let that die!
@tiediedraindrops Oh my gosh another young fan! I am 10 and they are the best! And not trying to brag (REALLY) but I met chloe in February 2010! She is such a sweetheart I love her <3
I agree with @hestlund I've always loved the pure beauty of this song. It's so deep, so expressive of a hearts sorrows and struggles. It's simply moving.
My grandma got a little teary-eyed when she heard this song. She was seven years old when she came to America from Italy. And it was at the docks at Ellis Island she met her father for the first time. I always smile when I hear this song because this memory is so important to my grandmother.
@venica99 It should be long because the "intro" is actually a whole other song entitled, "The New Ground" (written by David Downes). "Isle of Hope Isle of Tears" (written by Brendam Graham) begins when Chloe starts her singing.
@venica99 awesome sadly when i got up that day my voice was very bad and crackly it gave out and i couldnt talk the night before :( but i made it through then like a second after my voice cracked again
this song makes me miss USA of the old. When the values of the Founding Fathers were witheld. When America was the Land Of Opportunities.I wouldn't mind setting my feet on Ellis Island.
@jettiesgirl....The Potato famine...they had no choice....it was leave, or starve. Harsh choice, but I'd have made the same choice. Back then, America was "The land of opportunities" Not at all like it is today.
I love Celtic woman they have amazing voices and their songs are so inspirational let alone beautiful these girls truely have the angel of music smiling down upon them ^_^
I have parents who were irish german Cherokee and Also I have African Blood in me I'm Proud of my Family who were Irish I Love to show my Celtic Heritage
this is a gorgeous, nostalgic song. My ancestors were immigrants to America, and I am so thankful for this country, where hard work is rewarded. this song makes me cry.
Me and my friend are going on britain's got talent next year called celtic girls because we are in love with the music and are both irish! xx So wish us good luck x :)
Celtic Woman rocks! I love listening to their music! It never grows old! What makes this album, Songs From The Heart, more special to me is that it was released to buy on my parents Anniversary. :)
@cornpop234 I know exactly how you feel. I've loved this kind of music & classical music all my life & to this day (I'm 18) not many people my age like this kind of music. Just this past school yr I took Intro To Art & I was the oldest person in my class. Everyone else were either Freshmen or Sophomores. Our art teacher would put on Classical music sometimes when we would be drawing. Me, I liked it. It relaxed me. Everyone else hated it. They were like "OMG! This music is making me mad!" etc.
I am almost eighteen, and I love it. I don't know how music like this could make anybody mad. It's so calming. I think some of them might have been too immature to admit that they liked it.
@NumOneJoeJonasLuver Yeah it was. I know the words to this song and have been thinking of making a video to put on here :D I'm not sure if i will considering some people can be real assholes and im a little shy lol
@8SexahBitch8 I think you can control who comments the video so you can only approve the positive ones. Like make it so comments pend your approval and then you get to decide who's comments you want and who's you don't. If you do post a video do share it with me, okay? :) I know the feeling of being shy.
Åw... My heart is moved! Beautiful music for my ears! My soul is overwhelmed!
