I think he makes Germany better than they actually are. They are better off than many other economies right now, but their costs of borrowing have gone up recently (as can be seen in CDS spreads) and their government also has huge amount of debt, similar to any other Western country.

@mikka6 Actually a recent study made by scientist regarding the households debts and govt debts in countries shows that Germany is the country with least debt increase on both ways summed up. Both type of debts are interconnected and serves as same function as whole, but it only looks different on paper. So he's spot on.
