In the 70's there were the Phoenix Roadrunners that were winners and when teams here win, the house is packed with fans. Roadrunners were a minor league team but they sold out many many times because they were winners. Coyotes will resolve the ownership issue and remain here. Support for hockey here is greater than you think.

@savageMETISguy The Yotes have issues but they do have a nice following here. It's not easy to get to a game, especially if you live in the East Valley. Plus the tickets aren't cheap. The cheapest seat comes out to nearly $50 with all the fees. Free parking aside that is too much. When I visit my friend in Newark we get tickets for $10 and get free street parking or take the train in. Things can be changed to draw more people in.

Given the current circumstances and the past few seasons, why yes I am. Every time I attend a game, the seats are more filled and the Coyotes never let me down.
Take a look a Dallas, Nashville, Florida and Atlanta: same issues with attendance. I'm tired of hearing people say "hockey doesn't belong in the desert", well guess what? I think hockey doesn't belong on a beach front in Florida, California or in the plains of Texas, but it is. I'm happy with it. People need to quit complaining
@smorud To each his own then. You have to realize; Winnipeg was never given a chance. Bettman's first and only option was relocation. The Jets or Nords weren't given a second thought to stay. As a 3rd party, I'm not saying Phoenix doesn't deserve it, but the way it was stolen from Winnipeg was just wrong.

And they brought in about 12,000 this year, only beating the Islanders, unlike Phoenix who had another relatively successful season and still couldn't put ass in seats. Anyways, Glendale's dumbass city council has voted to string out this sad excuse for a team for at least...

@savageMETISguy The Yotes have issues but they do have a nice following here. It's not easy to get to a game, especially if you live in the East Valley. Plus the tickets aren't cheap. The cheapest seat comes out to nearly $50 with all the fees. Free parking aside that is too much. When I visit my friend in Newark we get tickets for $10 and get free street parking or take the train in. Things can be changed to draw more people in.

Given the current circumstances and the past few seasons, why yes I am. Every time I attend a game, the seats are more filled and the Coyotes never let me down.
Take a look a Dallas, Nashville, Florida and Atlanta: same issues with attendance. I'm tired of hearing people say "hockey doesn't belong in the desert", well guess what? To have a team ripped from your hands like that, and then to see bad attendance figures while Bettman holds onto Phoenix with his dying breath disgusts these fan bases. As a 3rd party, I'm not saying Phoenix doesn't deserve it, but the way it was stolen from Winnipeg was just wrong.

@jpgr331 The Winnipeg Arena sat 15,000, so that isn't a bad ratio, especially in a city whos population was about 600,000 at the time, compared to metro Phoenix area and Glendale combined, which is an easy 4.5 million. And they brought in about 12,000 this year, only beating the Islanders, unlike Phoenix who had another relatively successful season and still couldn't put ass in seats. Anyways, Glendale's dumbass city council has voted to string out this sad excuse for a team for at least...
