Mr Leatherneck, Knowing that that is a Term for a Marine, might I ask if you have served? If you have, I wish to salute and thank you. I'm actually looking at getting a 1965 with the 200. I just lost my Jeep, and I stumbled into this mustang. Anyway, thank you for the vid.
@TheFoundersWereRight I served The Corps from 1955 to 1961. The 200 is a great engine but expensive to build up.. It has 7 main bearings and I have seen them built up to 300HP..
@leatherneck1955 I am about to go pick up the car tomorrow. I don't intend on building it up at least for now. The Car is almost completely original stock parts wise, and I don't want to mess that up right now. It also has 35K actual miles on it. It was just such a beautiful car and an amazing deal that I could not do anything but jump at the chance. All I should need on the engine right now, is a header and new seals. Thanks for the Reply, and for your service.
I just got a 1982 Cougar 200... that's pretty much the same engine right?
I am planning to tear the engine apart for a minimal rebuild. Should I still have a machine shop look at everything for cracks, fissures, or anything else?
Thank you Maecus. I still have more to come. Next will be valve clearance, push-rod length and dual roller rockers… probably in a couple weeks… take care and good luck with your build…
Upload More 200 ci rebuild videos. Great video. Helps me a lot with my 200 ci engine rebuild. -67 mustang coupe with 1975 maverick 200 ci engine in it.

@benknefelkamp It is critical for you to have the engine inspected before you start your project... Good luck with your build..

I'm glad you kept the 200 inline 6 in the Mustang. The 200 inline 6 is one of Ford's best motors.

That is one very fine looking fastback. I also applaud your choice to keep it original with the 200 inline six.
