  • Yeah, I have to agree that Thunder Force V is meant to be played on Master. It really jumps up a notch. I have beaten it without losing a life on Hard, but have yet to beat it at all on Master (but I also don't continue...). Perhaps I'll hook up the Saturn and record a run-through on Hard, because you should at least get to the boss of this level with the ship intact and in previous plays on Normal, I've beaten Vasteel armor intact. If you're wondering, no, you don't keep the armor in Stage 6.

  • I cant believe how much better the graphics are in saturn tha in psx.

  • Then again, this is the Sega Saturn version. For the ps1 version the game will tell u go switch to normal mode after u beat stage 4 if ur playing on easy

  • nah, he can't be playing on easy, otherwise he wouldn't be able to go past stage 4

  • Why is it EVERY strategy I have seen on Youtube on this game is COMPLETELY wrong. And most are playing on easy or Normal. The true game is MASTER. Hmmm....

  • have some sex.

  • Have you seen my GF...???? 10/10 myspace/Nathaniel Garza/Vic Viper

  • Why is it EVERY strategie I have seen on this game is utterley and completely WRONG!!! And most are playing on easy or normal...Hmmmmm

  • I noticed the Stage 5 boss music is a remix of the TF4 theme. And I came.

  • not just that, but i think that little ship that is the boss and docks with all those things is actully the main ship from from thunder force 4 too...

  • its is, if u really want to be technical, Guardian rebuilt Rynex/Vasteel so it could take on ThunderForce 222

funny thing was when i got the soundtrack, listen through and got to stage 5 boss music, i was like, oh ****, i gotta fight Rynex

  • Sound is awful on this vid... anyhoo... this was officially the HARDEST GAME I have ever beaten. The last boss was a bitch and a half- I had to use the slow-mo function on my controller and it took near an hour. I think I game myself carpal tunnel that day...

  • For me this game was pretty sad because I was waiting for a formal sequel about the TFIV, but when they told me that other company made the one for Saturn, and then readed the story, I was like disappointed... Anyway, it was a cool game wich my brother didn't wanted me to play because the Saturn was his ¬¬ (but played it during the hours he was out to his girlfriend house, lol)

  • i love the ode to panzer dragoon's jungle boss. One of those hallmark bosses.

  • I just played it to that level on saturn :D

IT REALLY LOOKS BETTER THEN HERE !

i shoould capture it with my tv card, but it has a small delay which makes it impossible to get to that level using tv card :(

  • this game is awsome i have not been able to find it at all cept ebay and amazon!!!1

  • Is it true that this game is better on the Saturn than the PS?

  • yes. I've owned both, but I sold the Saturn version a long time ago... (slaps myself silly for doing such a stupid thing). I still have my Saturn at least. :thumbsp:

  • what is better about it?

  • This was a couple years ago, but from what I remember, it was more fluid and the load times were a lot lot faster! I believe the PSX version was a port of the Saturn version. Saturn had far more potential, but not as much support as PSX. If you get a chance, compare Myst on both systems and you'll see how much the difference is.

  • the game was made for saturn hardware, so alot of 2d scaling tricks that look like 3d (panzer dragoon 2 is another example). Plus the amount of ram available for textures was higher on the saturn. The ps version was decent but the saturn version was the better.

  • would love to have this ,was so obsessed with tf 4 ,i used to rent it put the cheat on just listen to the music

  • This was one of the coolest battles I faced in a space shooter. Great upload.

  • lol you got your ass handed to you by the vasteel/rynex

  • This game was among my favorite in the series. The rockin soundtrack, the graphics, the degree of difficulty, the little surprise in when you had to fight the Vasteel original, this was the ultimate.

  • dude how did you record this?? i wish i could have that game but i don't did you download it just out of curisosity??

  • no none of the games are downloaded they are all owned by me and bought the originals.

This was recorded by hooking an original sega saturn machine up to a video capture card.

  • and for the last comment kick ass music and stage 5

  • i need a explanation on what is going on i never played the game but want to but i have no playstation or ps2 (lost them in a flood which short-cirtcueted it)

  • Now I really have to find this rare jewel of a game...never thought I'd see the Vasteel, Im guessing this is what they meant by "One day it will rise from the ashes like a phoenix".

  • Thunderforce 4 and 3 are also jewels if you like shooters ;).

  • any body here has a tube of the ending? the special ending where vasteel fights a boss character? its got to be the best plane ending of all times!

  • I just uploaded it, but the quality is poor. And it´s not Vasteel fighting the level 1 boss, it´s several Gauntlets. The music in DigiHatesMakingNames video (level 5) is called "Steel Of Destiny" btw.

  • you know. . .

The standard beam is a far better choice for Level 5.

Especially when you still have that bulky casing.

I managed to destroy all those large ships along with the cargo ships and still start fighting vasteel with about 1/3rd of the shield left.

    Otherwise. . .you done good.

Got farther on Stage 6 than I did.

I only had one life to work with after stages 1-5.
