  • We Brits will buy some. We closed down all our railway works, threw the workers on the scrapheap, and now we buy from abroad

Due to buy some from Japan. We need to help their economy out

  • ya i work there but we dont sing and dance when were welding, maybe assemblers do

  • At first I thought this is a crazy commercial - then I watched the "making of the commercial" part and it makes some good sense. Less dancing, and more scenes of employees actually doing what they love doing, might have made this more eloquent and "taken my breath away."

  • lol i spent 3 months inside the Erie plant working for a company that did cleaning, and we cleaned all over the plant. it was pretty cool getting to see them build the engines, and watching them swing on the crane, etc. and looking inside of them, lol

  • I wonder what GE and EMD locomotive designs would look like 10-20 years from now?

  • @Trainmaster189

I don't know... The GE C40-8W was first made in 1989, and the GEVOs today still share the same body design.

  • Finest Asian women **busizz4me.info**

  • Sexy Asian women **busizz4me.info**

  • I'm sorry to report that EMD locomotives are Better. old Passenger Locomotives used to be made in La Grange, Illinois.

  • @TheLifeOfEpic Qualify that statement

  • That guy at 2:28 minutes sounds like a right faggot? he's as camp as a row of pink tents at a liberace memorial convention lol.

  • GE is the real thing! mean really EMD no offense but can't compete

  • Commercial very interesting and well done. Those locomotives that appear in the video of MRS, are of a railroad of Brazil. I hug all.

  • GO GE!!

  • GE made the geneshit I mean genesis locomotives nuff said.

  • GE The number one maker of War Heads too........

  • GE FOREVER!

  • At 0:46, she got the entire reporting mark backward. She basically said AC44ES. It's ES44AC.

  • Isnt it a AC4400CW

  • @ConrailForever hush you foamer nerd lol

  • if GE is such a great locomotive, then why is the Union Pacific putting 250 GE in storage for bad turbos? (and I suppose other rail lines have too) Anytime the GE in question are running at run 6 or above, there is a danger of turbo failure.

  • My guess is that the chinese workmanship isn't reliable. What say you?

  • good point

  • Yeah, great job, General Electric. GE has announced 1,700 job cuts in their Pennsylvania locomotive factories, even as they advertise excessively (and uselessly). As a stockholder and an Erie native, I say Jeffrey Immelt's got to go.

  • You left out GE/NBC's liberal agenda, including cap in trade, which will net them billions. Yeah, they're real a great American co.

  • Thanks for posting this I've been watching TV all weekend trying to find this commercial. Only to see the GE Airplane one instead.

  • love the engine, but could there POSSIBLY BE A LAMER COMMERCIAL? i cringe like my nuts were caught in a combine everytime i see it. should get whoever is in charge of the CSX commercials a call next time man it SUCKS

  • @bfishma buttcheek clenchingly embarrising.

  • No, but a good locomotive is what they make. I could care less about toasters Allan. The advert itself did not take my breath away, it was stupid. However, listening to the employees, that is what sold me.

And since Allan Load Jr, you have never run a locomotive in your life, stick to something you do know.

  • Funny, I have yet to see an add from EMD.

  • I have yet to see a product in recent years worth advertising from EMD.

  • Good point. SD70ACe and SD70M-2 carry on that trend.

  • You mean like the SD60's and SD50's before them?????????? Yeah, great products. That is why so many of them are in deadlines now. And the SD90MAC too. Great stuff.

  • and the GP35's before them.

There's nothing like the sound of a few GE's wound right up. And if they all whoop at the same time? Bliss.

  • Like the chemtrails at 0:16

  • They should have used the workers not the actors.

  • I am a conductor for BNSF, and have to say it certainly does, "take my breath away"

  • i wonna work for bnsf i like bnsf

  • when they load us all on the trains is this the song that will be playing when we get to the fema camps

  • Oh, shut up about the damn FEMA camps. We got enough problems

in our lives. We don't need your

crap now. Say hi to the doctor in

    the nuthouse for me.

  • This is a great spot ! Music by Berlin, lead Ron Kennard looks good, and where is the GM Electromotive Division commercial... none to be found.

  • yeah, cause GE is run by a bunch of meat gazers, that commercial looked like a pride rally.

    sorry EMD don't do that.

  • Comment removed

  • GE the next ENRON

  • GE's pussification is now complete. If Jeff Imelt would take Bammy's cock out of his mouth for one minute he too would notice.

    Disgraceful

  • Whoever sold you this POS commercial needs to be shot. Worst commercial I have ever seen. I thought you wanted to express power, economy, and earth friendliness? Instead you express the complete opposite.

  • GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • CN They are Full of GE ES44DC.

  • CN actually doesn't have that many. CN has lots of C44-9Ws and SD75Is.

  • The GE repair man can't even fix my GE washer and these guys are building trains and jet engines?? I'm never riding on one of those.

  • Personally I am a fan of EMD locomotive equipment, but there is no jet engine on this planet that is finer than a GE. Bar none, GE makes the best jet engines.

  • and you can fix locomotives can you

  • Sure. I'll fix things the way GE repair men fix things.

A train has broken down. I'll go in and tell them they don't know how to operate it and that they need to make sure the tracks are always flat and that you shouldn't put more than a couple thousand pounds on it. Problem solved!

  • sure

  • sorry you obviously sound retarded

  • we wont be moving to janesville, wi we are being laid off soon!!

  • I love this commercial add, of course I love trains. This just closed the GM plant in Janesville, WI.. Maybe GE electric will move in and build locomotives :D .. oh well can at least dream. :) ..

  • The last American Train is alive and well.

  • after this video I wanna do my internship only at GE Locomotives ;-)

  • My favorite Locomotive is the GE P-42!

  • My favorite Locomotives is the ES44AC, AC4400CW and E60C-2; and of switcher is the B23-7 , U23B and C30-Super7N, C30-Super7R and C30-Super7MP : ) and the C30-7 of FERROSUR (FSRR)

    Railfan of Railroads Mexicans!

  • I LOVE TRAINS>

  • That narrator called that ES44 AC44CW! Doesn't she know they quit making those!?!?

  • They still make AC44s. MRS Logistica just bought some AC4400ACis!

  • yeah, and Dash 8s. GE I think still makes AC60s, AC44s, the Dash 8 line, and ES44s

  • maybe you ment dash 9's? instead of 8's i could be wrong but its just its a new model

  • er and Dash 9s. What I meant was the export market, not domestic.

  • Oh, MRS Logistica is a Brazilian train company!

  • lol

  • Oh My...

  • Dude This So Freaking Hardcore To The Bone Man! - 5 Stars And A Favorite For Sure Bro! - Git R Dun!!!!;-)Man Thats Cool;-)

    ~Bryan "BJ" Johnson - Up and Out!~

  • LOL!

  • a MRS tá ficando famosa!

    aparecendo até na TV americana!

  • Personally, i don't have any contribution to GE or EMD. However, I feel inclinded to rant and rave about my favorite. Especially if I can make myself feel better about living in Canada. All I know is that GE is an American company doing strong global business. GM got rid of EMD. For all you machinists out there, I pray that you will get to retire one day.

  • That is such an awesome commercial!! I 've always wanted to see how those babies go together !

  • lol.. my husband builds them at GE!!!!!

  • That is 2 awesome !!

  • 1)GE is less expensive up front, more later; EMD is more expensive up front, less later.

2)EMD is more reliable. P42s have to cool their traction motors for 5min if they drop below 10mph on Raton. EMDs don't. That's there are more SD40-2s than GE's equivalent.

3)I don't care about what cpbrbrakeman says. Why the are you getiing so fired up over a spectator hobby you idiot? It's unnecessary.

  • Umm...in case no one knows. Trains are diesel electric so this new "hybrid" thing they are saying is a lie because the definition of a diesel-electric means it is ALREADY A HYBRID. Maybe GE means it can run with batteries without Diesel engine running so that is where they get the term hybrid? All I know is, since the 1940's locomotives have always been diesel electric... So this is not some new technology at all, more like reinventing the wheel.

  • A "hybrid" by definition is a vehicle that can run on batteries, or fuel. Not a vehicle with electric transmission, which requires that internal combustion engine run in order to power the wheels. I understand your point though. The batteries is what makes it a hybrid - but until battery technology makes a quantum leap will these hybrid locomotives ever be more than a novelty. My $.02.

  • WRONG! You obviously don't know what a series hybrid is which trains have been for quite a LONG time. It does not have to have batteries to be a hybrid. This battery crap is recent for the purpose of reducing load on the diesel genset which helps lower fuel consumption. Perhaps you need to look up the definition of a hybrid. There are parallel systems and series systems. Also those are called Traction motors not transmissions.

    Your post = Fail.....

  • You're making yourself look stupid on the internet. A HYBRID, by DEFINITION, runs either on electricity or fuel. Diesel/electric is not hybrid - it's another form of transmission such as a mechanical transmission. Your brain - fail.

  • One more time for the internet to see:

I never said a 'traction motor' was a transmission. The traction alternator + the traction motors form a transmission.

A hybrid locomotive is usually of a diesel electric configuration capable of running on batteries, a third rail or overhead catenary in addition to the diesel engine. On a straight diesel electric, if the diesel goes down, there is no electricity for the wheels, therefore it is not a hybrid.

  • That would be better if they were Steam locomotives.

  • as a machinist im involved in the repair of the engines....power assemblies, turbo's you name it......ge is more advanced than emd

but the ge's are INFERIOR to emd in terms of reliability

  • hey "cuttingwoodnow", #1 you're mis-informed, and #2 you're a typical American retard. do you know that the first AC traction diesel was developed in Canada by CPR so if it wasn't for CP, GE would never even have the technology in the first place. CP even jointly developed the dash 2 series with GM on sd40s in the early 70s because the original pussy ones built at la grange Il. couldn't handle real grades. Get your facts straight jackass.

  • The 'pussy ones built at LaGrange' were never sold to Canadian railroads. The Canadian equivalents were built by GMD at London. Dash 2 was also an improvement in the electrical system as well as the trucks, not the prime mover, traction alternator or traction motors (which remained the same).

  • GE may make more HP and use less fuel, and I'll admit they'll pull the guts out of hell. But, if you run one, you'd better have on some form of hearing protection, or you'll go deaf before you've been on the job 5 years. You also had better not mind your ass going numb from the vibration as everything shakes itself off the control stand and falls on the floor or in your lap. Give me a slightly lower powered, quiet EMD any day of the week.

  • emd changed their muffler to meet tier2 specs, GE redesigned the entire engine, cutoff 2 cylinders,& made more horsepower using less fuel. GE will introduce the Hybrid in 2010.

    emd is toast!

  • GE's r AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ha you all got it wrong, one good ol Union Pacific big boy could could leave any of these in the dust

  • FUCK YOU CANADA ROCK

  • I Heard that The Gevo's and SD70's are doing good LATELY. There are less complaints about the EVOS. When it comes to Diesel, I have to Say AC4400CW reighns supreme. And Yummy.

  • Great commercial. Job well done.

  • Beautiful MRS locomotives...

  • these commericals effin rock! i love the singing :)

  • they use that stupid fast brake system, lol it doesnt work, I work for Wabtec global services, i have heard all about it, when i was on the road servicing the air compressors, every technician i worked with told me that the EVO's were the biggest pile of junk they have ever worked on

  • I'm sorry. The Greatest American Locomotives ever made were built in America's Greatest Railroad City. the GM-EMD Factory at LaGrange IL.

  • Very cool. Watched it again and again.

  • ironically enough, i was a contractor inside of GE and i spent alot of time in Erie, especially in Buildings 10,22(locomotive production buildings), i miss that job alot, watching them build these awsome locomotives.

  • i always wondered if trains could run on pavement cause its just an engine with pistons and gigantic phybrid batteries to wheels.

  • they probely cant becous the whells are kind sharp and there specialy made for rail ways and much to heavy

  • Well done

    pit

  • all you guys talking about CSX trains are crazy.

First of all. CSX does buy AC's. they have more than 100 of them. And ES44DC do not suck. They could pull more cars with less emissions with fewer engines.and the F40PH

    is made by GE

  • No, the F40PH was made by EMD.

  • F40PH is EMD this is GE the makers of the Genesh*t

  • that was OK, but it could have used moar f40ph

  • ac60's are the best big engines ever made though

  • This may be true.

  • the csx es44dc's suck. when you are in the first notch the piece of crap drops its load every 45 seconds and reloads 6 seconds later, causing the slack on your hed 3 or 4 cars to roll in and out. besides that ge has been better since emd hit the 70 series

  • just had a set of bnsf es44ac's yesterday. they may be better than ac6000cw's. why didn't csx buy ac's?

  • The ES44AC units have better emissions. AC6000CW's have better tractive effort and horsepower.

  • I'm not talking numbers and stats though, i'm an engineer, i'm talking actual field operations. the es44dc's suck, but amazingly they are still not as bad as our pos 4700 series sd70ac's. and the ac6000cw's (cw60ac's in csx terms) are the best engines we got

  • What's wrong with the SD70's? Are they unreliable?

  • im a machinist with the bnsf....the sd70 is twice the locomotive that an evolution or a dash 9 is

  • Got a friend who is a engineer for the same company. Says he would take a SD70 over a GEVO any day just for the fact that the GEVO dynamics suck.

  • im a bn machinist bud....nothing breaks down more than a ge..period

  • these commercials rock. i could watch them over & over

  • I love these commercials!

  • Does anybody know the name of the actor who first appears in this commercial?

  • You rock Ronnie! (He's the 1st singer) :-) Way ta go on your commercial dude!

  • There commercials are SO FUNNY. I love songs they chose LOL My parents played these songs on the stereo when I was younger haha.

  • The only thing that takes my breath away about a GE is the flames and the explosion sounds when they go poof at about age 15.

  • AWESOME! Sit back and watch the awards roll in!

  • Both GE and EMD are cool. If I had enough money, I would ask if I could buy a 1989 Dash 8-40C.

  • You can. You just can't run it.

  • ge sucks EMD! JuST KIDDING
