  • Very well explained! Thanks.

  • Wow you explained it so clear and fast thankyou! :)

  • So no need to indicate before turning into the space ?

  • @owncompany The reversing lights should be enough, although a signal should be given if you think it would help someone.

So if you was in a busy road a left signal as you approach a parking space should give following traffic an idea of your intentions. They might stop and wait for you to reverse or will drive around

  • so it would be the opposite for driving in america

  • Post more

  • I passed my test 25th July.

I thought thought that the point of turns were

    1) just passed the car - 1 circle turn left

    2) As the lights appear the in front passenager winow - 1 circle turn right

    3) As the front passenger doorhandle touched the kerb - 1 cirle turn right

    4) When the car is parralle - 1 circle turn left

    no full locks :)

  • we need to see your hands and face it makes it easyier to follow but very help follow as well !!! :)

  • Great tutorial, makes it look so easy. Sitting my test tomorrow for the second time, just hope I can keep calm enough to concentrate. ended up so nervous I completely lost it last time.

  • or just park 1 space infront of the car man people are lazy what you have to walk another 3-4 steps not hard

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. This helped me so thankyouuuu :)

  • this sucks dosnt even show us his left mirror when he started reversing lol

  • Was this instructions for a manual? At no point did I hear him say sink the clutch. Then he said "stop, handbrake," but then he started reversing, without saying to release the handbrake. I didn't even see him release the handbrake. The instructions in video could have been more clear.

  • @KnicksScholar24 You shouldn't need to be told to depress the clutch etc. to go into reverse.

  • If there is enough space to reverse back a further car length, then a reverse park wouldn't be feasible!!!

  • @antokane Your asked to finish the exercise 'within about 2 car lengths' including the car your driving...

  • so much space lol..

  • God, right sided cars makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason XD, thanks for the lesson!

  • @AlexEttelis Well, left sided cars make me feel uncomfortable for some reason! O_O

    What say you now! XD

  • if i lived in central london i would not bother with a manual gearbox.. manual gear boxes are a bad idea in urban areas which invovle lots of stopping and starting. you will wear youre clutch out in no time and be punishing youre self. an auto makes life much more relaxed in urban areas. i've driven both and an auto is much better in urban enviroments. i kind of wondered what was the point of a manual when you are on the motorway you just leave in top gear most of the time anyway

  • @210482fmj I don't live in London, I live in the midlands, but I learned in an auto and passed my test and have a full auto licence. I agree it makes life (or driving life anyway lol) so much more easier and less complicated but not only in urban areas, but in rural too :)

  • I learned that steering while standing still is very bad for your car... My driving instructor doesn't like that when I am doing that by accident..

  • I fucking hate driving.

  • how the hell was that a 45 degrees angle

  • Anyone else think this guy sounds like fucking Snape from Harry Potter? Holy shit hahaha

  • I've got my test tomorrow, and i'm not very good at these cos i haven't practiced much lately! The reason i don't like it is because you have to look behind as much as possible which means it's hard to tell if you're at 45 degrees or how far away the car is in front, or how far away from the curve you are. I think it's pretty hard. I hope i don't get this on my test tomorrow, would love it if i had a turn in the road!!!

  • I just passed my driving test a few days ago!

  • @DCT0000 hi did u do the new independant driving? i just want to ask how is it, because ive got mine soon.

  • In Soviet Russia Car Parks You!!!

  • carly fiorina u sucks

  • Ido we need to indicate at turn in the road?,I got serious fault on my tes because of turn in the road, then the most amazing thing for me was using of indicators ,I always use indicator except where there is no one follow or where there is a sign on the road,SO I was told I fail because I did not use indicator I disagree but the woman she told me,how do I know if there will be another car while I am turning if I do not use indicator? I don't know what she means by that,

  • People you dont need to use the handbrake in the U.S. If takeing the road test in the U.S. you will fail if you use the handbrake.

  • arent u supposed to be on the right side of your car? your steering wheel.

  • @10timeworld what?

  • @dregg his steering wheel, maybe its just me but isnt it on the wrong side of the car?

  • @10timeworld there's a whole world out there which isnt USA.

  • @dregg lol okay. ill talk to you later let me have text sex with this girl real quick

  • @10timeworld in the uk we drive on the left....

  • well done but 1 hint,

where you said full lock dont do that then you have to turn fast the other way ok

turn it on way "full turn" wait for car to react then return to normal straight then you dont have to turn crazy and its easy to slow

  • Thanks for this tip. I'm training for my part 2 and this manoeuvre was my weakest. It's a doddle now. Thanks again.

  • damn fuck it. i hit the kerb of my brother's car. now its got a real bad tear on the bottom right

  • I spell kerb "curb", but then I'm always learning something new

  • @zatheris 'Curb or Kerb'? For the noun designating the edge of a roadway (or the edge of a British pavement/ American sidewalk/ Australian footpath). Curb is the older spelling, and in the UK as well as in the US, it is still the proper spelling for the verb meaning restrain.[129] Canada as in the US.

  • @zatheris lol me2 allways thought it was curb, "kerb" is like if some1 use "kewl" instead of cool

  • @zatheris kerb is the british spelling and cerb is the American spelling :) lol!

  • @sweetCupcake109 No curb is the American spelling and cerb is the dumbass spelling! Haaa kidding it was probably just a typo.

  • what is it mean by point of turn?

  • Its possible to pass without using the handbrake. But when a short pause turns into a wait (more than 5-10 seconds) you should use it (for securing or making the car safe).

At night it stops the driver behind being dazzled by your brake lights while your waiting. As for doing more than 25 it all depends on the road and traffic conditions, if its not too narrow with parked cars both sides, no hazards of any kind, then you should be trying for 30 as 25 would inconvenience the following traffic

  • NO... The examiner was Pissed... After that I just done car reversing and he said lets go and he failed me..

  • FUCK n hell i failed today coz i hit the other car door mirror.. lol

  • @jawadalishe bahahaa

  • @jawadalishe hahah unlucky mate

  • Y use the handbrake theres no point u dont have 2 use it

  • @Mr1000hp you don't need the handbrake? lol.

  • is there a reverse parking video, not parallel parking?

  • Yes, its called 'Bay Parking' search for 'Video driving lesson 13' for left bay or 14 for right

  • saw it, thanks!

  • spot on

  • Step 1 find a parking space.

Step 2 park in that space.

  • The way I was told was to dive around until you find a place that's a pull-in. Or just honk until somebody comes out of a house to help you.

  • LMAO oh dear, that made me laugh so much!

  • @jeffens1991 you suck

  • suk a dick dipshit!!

  • i failed today lol aww man i gotta wait a month for another test

  • i fuckin failed today because i was nervous and thought the car was in D when in was in R while trying to straighten myself out in a parallel park. I hit the curb and he led me back to garage and said "you got 7 days until you can make another appointment." FML

  • are you in california ? i dont think they ask to reverse park in california ? which state is yours?

  • @hababdullah This is in Britain

  • My instructor teaches me this way but I am fininding it very difficult to judge when the car is at 45 degree angle. You gave some hint but did not get. What disappears and in which mirror? can you pls. let me know? Also I read in one place that 45 degree is when front seat is ligned up with the rear bumper.. does that work?

  • my instructor told me to turn till i'm at a 2 o'clock angle & then steer to the right..it helps me anyway (:

  • When you start reversing. Turn a quarter clockwise. And hold it that position. Once the rear bumper of the other car meets your left window then start straightening up Slowly. You basically have to match the speed of the car to the speed or your turning. I've like done it twice and had like 5 goes overall. So i think i'm just going to take a couple more practises before i book a test

  • 45 degrees is usually somewhere above the edge of your mirror, so if you pick a piece of scenery that is just above the edge of your driver side mirror, then thats about 45 unless you have irregular mirrors or sit ridiculously far forward or back.

  • The way i was tought was...

When you are parallel to the car you are reverse parking with, look to the opposite side of the street and find an object that is approx 45 degrees from you...

start reversing with your full lock. once your are head on with the object that was initially 45 degrees from you, that's when you full lock in the opposite direction.

    too easy

  • nice job

  • Great!

Thank you very much. you gave really clear step-by-step directions. Now I know what to do.

  • Have you had driving lessons?

  • Is it really necessary to use the handbrake quite so many times?

  • Not always necessary but a little easier.

Most new drivers prefer to use the handbrake instead of trying to balance the footbrake and clutch together. When nervous or under pressure it can be quite hard to get the balance right so it doesnt stall or roll in the wrong direction.

  • @www2passcouk Is this a manual? Are manuals more common in Europe? Because here in America, we call the hand break the emergency break because it is just that, for emergencies. We only use it if our foot break goes out or if we are parking on a hill and want to secure the placement of the vehicle. But that is on automatic transmissions, which is what is used 99% of the time in America.

  • @IisSUMMERxx Yes it's a manual. Almost everybody in the UK learn in a manual. The handbrake secures the car, it's not necessary in this because you can just balance the clutch. When you do this I assume you use brake control, slowly releasing the brake to move backwards but I'm just guessing because I drive a manual

  • @AngloAm If i was you i would get use to the hand break you no why? Forget the dazzeling, rather than burning your clutch you can just put your gear on neutral and hanbreak on which means you can give your foot some time to rest while ur in a secure place. if u like to burn your clutch then go for the clutch and break but if you like to keep ur car clean then go for the hand break now what you think is the best option?

  • dat confusing me hhhahaha

  • yes like power steering

  • You need to emphasise on the observations.

  • good lessonn thanks.. i see what i was doing wrong now

  • what happened to the dry steering rule :)

  • its so weird i couldnt drive a left hand drive vehicle lol

  • ham

  • its a lesson you complete mug

  • haha earnshaw24 is how you guys call people names?that is such a polite insult..watch and learn americans..lol

  • Americans LOL!?! Total morons... their insults are pathetic... "Douche Bag and mother fucker".

Mug isn't use as an insult, it's used as a sign of pity and to show how pathetic you are.

  • when its being done for real it's much faster. he's slowing it down for peeps like me who need to see =)

  • i mean i awlays thought during lessons this dont help me trying to park in a real tight gap. dont get me wrong yeh tis video is very helpful for people trying to pass a test but when you pass and arive at your destintion and the only space is really tight its a different story

  • That method doesn't teach you how to face a situation where you are parking between two cars. I noticed that the instructor asked the driver to straighten the wheel once the car was parallel with the kerb, when I done my lessons I got told off for doing that. I was told to keep the right lock on so that when you are driving off later on you don't need to turn the wheel at all. Also no need to reverse back two car lengths from car in front.

  • This is what you need to do to pass your driving test.

  • Exactly. If you couldn't do this on the test, where I went they wouldn't even let you drive on the road. They failed you automatically.

  • you should ALWAYS straighten the wheel when stopping.

  • flickishousimlousvisionish

  • Me too.

  • easiest way ive found is after my parents have parked and im about to go driving, i line up where the gutter comes into view in the rear windscreen - to the rear passenger seats headrests, do the same as im leaving from where im parked, and when it comes to parallel park i just line it all up again, works like a charm, this video is good, but turning circles and lenghts of cars differ with every car you drive.

  • dont help trying to park in between 2 cars does it.

  • ofcourse it does. how does it not!?

  • Wow. I don't think I could ever get the feel of having the driver's seat on the right side of the car. No offense but it's really odd.

  • hhaa thats exactly wot i think about da left hand drive...!!! be so weired!

  • the whole handbrake thing? thats a bit random, not like anyone is waiting behind you :P

  • Why do they have to keep stopping the vehicle and applying the hand brake? I teach my students the same way but I don't have them stop at 45, I just have them straighten out and back. I like the mirror to the license plate trick. It's funny; from Canada to Europe we teach parallel parking the same way.

  • hi ,would u plz let me know best way to park in between 2 cars?

    thanks

  • @jbaur Because we use manual cars.

  • nice ;) it's allways hard for beginers, dont forget that after few "clicks" behind wheel U are gaining extra experience... It was like that and it's allways gona be.. no one getting birth as Nicki Lauda :D

  • wow that makes so much sence i listend to the american version n got confused,

the bloke sounds really posh i dint think us brits sounded lyk that!

  • My instructor teaches it to me sooo differently!! He doesnt let me stop before the full left turn to look around!

  • Thanks alot. this helped me so much.

  • Thanks this was really useful. Especially liked the camera shots with what to look out for in the windows. Will be trying this technique out next time.

  • this is very useful

  • Dont forget to signal left as you pull up to the car, because other drivers might not realise you are pulling up to the target vehicle. All your videos are great btw!

  • Great video, thank you very much! Taking my driving test tomorrow morning!

  • thanks for the demonstration, i plan to go for my license soon and this helped heaps :D

  • Hi, how often does paralell park come up in test? My instructor said hardly ever, so we didnt practice it a lot then it came up in my test and i failed on it

  • The examiners try and keep a reasonable balance in regards to how many times each manoeuvre is done. Also they would get pretty bored doing the same thing all the time.

So you normally have a 50/50 chance of getting this manoeuvre on a test. This situation changed a while ago, so you might get a 'Turn in the road' and a 'Reverse to the left' and no parking at all!

  • I hope u changed instructors, some are only interested in taking your money.

  • ah nice!

wen driving the car alongside wif the parked car does the distance need to be increases depending on how long the front of ur car is?

  • I think their should also be an over head view.

  • useful vid, cheers

  • Very helpful video.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • great video

  • Im glad you liked it, thanks for the rating.

  • Very instructive videos.

  • this video turns me on greatly
