  • God gifted me when he made me BRITISH !!!!!!

  • @apeman371 can you tell me what version of 'Men of Harlech' you used for this video? It's a brilliant version but I can't find it anywhere

  • @slayr399 This is Bryn Terfel singing at the last night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in London. I don't know if it was recorded for sale, but it's on Youtube. Terfel is a native Welsh speaker, hence one verse is sung in Welsh to the delight of the crowd. "Rule Britannia" is always sung at the last night of the Proms as a matter of tradition.

  • Rule Britannia!

  • was hätte EUROPA ohne die Briten getan ? in die Hose geschißen

  • Why are we watching awesome military bands performing live, yet listening to dull orchestra/choral music? I wanna hear the band!

  • It's a Irish Wolfe Hound, that leads the Irish Guards out. There are 5 Guards Regiments, Welsh, Scots, Irish, Coldstream & Greneders........ I think the Grenediers are the oldest Regiment

  • No one does like the Brits.................Cremonial Splendour at its Best

  • RULE BRITANNIA!!!!

  • Camilla parker bowles is a disgusting gutter whore; she is like poison with everything she comes in contact with including her own children. This will all end in tears and hopefully someone will eradicate this vile cancer as soon as possible. The most pleasing aspect of this all is she cannot control HM The Queen who clearly knows how to deal with this repulsive filth and has every intention of remaining Queen regnant for her lifetime that will probably be far longer than the late Queen Mothers!

  • and so onward they march, to do battle with the french in open fields lol harah for king and country!

  • @Tracer379 It's "Men of Harlech", a Welsh patriotic song, and therefore very appropriate??? for watching the Irish Guards troop their colour........ Note also that the music starts with the recording of "Rule Britannia" sung by Bryn Terfel, the Welsh bass/baritone, at the Proms some years ago; he sang the fourth verse in Welsh, to the delight of the audience. But what it's all to do with the Irish Guards I don't know. Great music though...

  • @peterkar Though the Irish Guards trooped their Regimental colour that particular year, there were other Guards battalions on parade. Perhaps Welsh, Coldsreams, Scots or Welsh. Anyway we in the British army like to play tradional marches, no matter what it is as long as it is traditional and nationalistic.

  • Greetings from the Philippines! :)

Our ROTC Uniform is similar to the Foot Guards.

  • Typical UTUBE.

    Great video clips.

Loads of muppets arguing just for the hell of it .

  • God Save the Queen!

  • 0:52 Music gave me goosebumps. We don't half know how to do pomp and ceremony. I love being British.

  • why the hell is there a dog leading the soliders?

    greetings from germany :)

  • @McMoerder That's the mascot of the battalion or regiment i can't remember which

  • @apeman371 Irish wolfhound = Irish guards

  • @apeman371 its the mascot of the regiment.

  • @apeman371 its the regiment, the Irish wolf hound mascot of the Irish Guards and the Royal Irish Regiment

  • @apeman371 Irish Wolf hound for the Irish Guards

  • @apeman371 The Irish Woolf hound is the regimental mascot of the irish guards.

  • @apeman371 Its for the Royal Irish Regiment

  • @SpoOkyBeEf Royal Irish Regiment are not guards nor do they do any public duties

  • @apeman371 It's the Irish Guards I think ;)

  • @apeman371 its the mascot of the irish gaurds. its an irish wolfhound

  • @apeman371 Irish Guards

  • @apeman371 Royal Irish Regiment

  • @McMoerder The dog represents the" MASCOT" of the Battalion.

    Cheers from London !!

  • @McMoerder Its a Irish Wolfhound the Mascot of the Irish Guards . The regiment formed by Queen Victoria to commemorate the Irish people who fought in the Second Boer War for the British Empire.

    Greetings from the UK.

  • @McMoerder A dog led Germany during the Second World War so should the British Army which defeated the Nazis not have a dog of their own?

  • @McMoerder

It's an Irish Wolfhound, the mascot of the Irish Guards.

  • @McMoerder it's an Irish Wolfhound and is the mascot of the Irish Guards who were leading the parade that year ;)

  • @McMoerder Irish Guards

  • @McMoerder Conmael is the Mascot of the Irish Guards

  • @McMoerder Its the Irish guards mascot

  • @McMoerder its the mascot of the Irish gaurds

  • Inspiring!... of admiration in our friends, and envy in our enemies.

  • @daviddevall none of what you say is true... fuck off you arsehole.

  • WHERE ARE THEM GOOD OLD DAYS.....

  • the enemy better watch out for that dog

  • @gamelord309 That dog is a trained killer bruv lol

  • i dont know wot you are on about The usa only came in to the war because they were attacked if it was not for that yous would happily let Europe fall, eny way the Usa suck spying on UK and UN and nato so you are scum-bags

  • RB was done so brilliantly here that I had to look up the lyrics. Beautiful song and video. I can be proud that my dad served in the Royal Navy in WWII although I am certain he was not trilled about it. Dad--RIP.

  • wonderful

  • FOR GOD AND THE GLORIOUS EMPIRE! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! THANK GOD IM BRITISH!

  • Oh man I love the Brits. I am one. And I love them. Goodnight

  • @joshwashposh I'm not one, but I love you (Brits) as well. In fact I love Britain so much that I now live in London.

  • It's about time for us all to drop our petty feuds within the UK. English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, we're all just folk with a bloody yet similar heritage. We face establishments who would strip away each of our national identities. Yes there were bad things done on every side of every fence, but when the Isles stand as one we can achieve so much more than when we stand alone. It's important to never forget, but it's more important to look forward, and use yesterday's lessons to shape tomorrow.

  • 2:05 is the guy in yellow holding an ice cream? XD

  • @Operative13 ROTFLMAO..........Yes he is but only dispenses vanilla flavour !!!

It is a pace stick he uses to give directions to the band behind him!!

  • LMAO ! I thought that too but its his staff!

  • The British do this so well! Five stars.

  • Glad to become of the Queen's dog :P

  • @aslissigr ??? Help !!! Sorry, I only speak English, and I am unfaamiliar with the Cyrilic alphabet

  • God Save Elizabeth II, Dei Gratia Britanniarum Regnorumque Suorum Ceterorum Regina, Consortionis Populorum Princeps, Fidei Defensor.

  • ale widzę że tak perfekcyjnie to to nie jest mowie oczywiście o czerwonych ludkach ;p ale jak ktoś niewie na co patrzeć to jest idealnie ;p

  • Absolutely beautiful, but what do bearskins cost these days?

  • From South Carolina: God Save The Queen!! There are many here that would love for her to take us back.

  • @CCSO0801 Been to South Carolina - beautiful country there, and many folks of Scottish, English, Irish and Welsh descent. I listened to so many personal histories of how so many families came to leave UK and move to South Carolina - fascinating.

Your state is wonderfully more diverse than that now, and I enjoyed magnificent hospitality during my time there.

    :)

  • @flygweilo We do not live in a state my friend, we live in a kingdom. As such we are not citizens rather subjects of our Queen. :) its quite cool actually. Up the Scots Guards

  • @tony20001 We certainly would have been subjects in times gone by, but (and please don't expect me to be specific here!), we are now definitely citizens as the law now makes allowance for such, and it this is shown in your passport.

But the two are not mutually exclusive. I knew of one Australian, for example, who even though he died in 2000 (aged 86) whose Australian passport carried the designation "Australian citizen, British subject" to the end of his days. :)

  • @tony20001 As for 'Kingdom' v 'State', I'd simply observe that the Britain - as a Constitutional Monarchy - is simply one of only a few States lucky enough to be a Kingdom.

  • @CCSO0801 Ditto that from Pennsylvania I would love to be able to claim the great history that the British have.

  • @CCSO0801 How dear sir can you say such a thing after all those men died to be free from this animal known as the queen

    America FUCK YA

  • @CCSO0801 From Nevada: God Save the Queen!

  • @CCSO0801 youre a gutless traitor for saying we would ever want to return to british rule we kicked their limey asses out for a reason so if you obviously a coward leave the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and move to Britian until America has to come save it again you have no honor no loyalty and you are no American

  • @chrisF1117 when did you save england? i dont remember anything like that.

  • @CCSO0801 They can have south carolina back anytime good riddence!

  • awesome work!!!!!

    greetings from germany!

  • God Save the Queen! Up with the British Empire!

  • 4:56 song is stuck in meh head.

  • @AgentMercer Yeah it is that kinda song and ironically about the welsh beating up the English, i think.

  • @apeman371 i never knew us and england were ever at war

  • @AgentMercer Its about a battle, can't remember which - curse me! Yet it is about how we welsh defended ourselves for years against the English, and the battles in which we won. Its a tribute to our ancestors that fought for wales, and current welsh soldiers - I believe anyhow.

  • @Perilix i think its about when the english where beseiging somewhere, i think it might have been caernavon <-- is that how you spell it?

  • @apeman371 Nah, I looked it up. It was to do with the siege of Harlech Castle - Who would have guessed? xD

  • @Perilix i knew it was some castle or other :)

  • @apeman371 uuuuh it was a scottish guy, alexander thompson whom wrote it, he was obsessed with the union of scotland and england, so i do not know how it relates to a welsh battle

  • @21whitworth12 No it wasn't. Welsh.

  • @UnOxonien Well, i have the information behind me, believe what u want

  • @21whitworth12 Well seeing as Harlech castle is in North Wales i would assume that your source is incorrect.

  • @apeman371 no, the lyrics have changed many, many times over the 350 years this song has been in circulation, the original was different

  • God Save Elizabeth II, Dei Gratia Britanniarum Regnorumque Suorum Ceterorum Regina, Consortionis Populorum Princeps, Fidei Defensor.

  • omfg! even the horses are walking on rhythm.

    this is somehow kinda creepy.

  • @AgentMercer are they? O_o

  • @AgentMercer - NAW that is training and discipline, as are the troops marching back to barracks behind the horses and not swerving to missstepping in the horse droppings along the way.

  • love british army drill :)

  • Laughable.

  • nice....

  • Bryn Terfel?

  • Always loved the Trooping of the colour! I managed to visit London when they were rehearsing for 2010's colour. Never has my heart swelled with so much pride to see the British Flags fly under a sunny day from the Palace. :D

  • @MasterHonorius SHame its usually overcast :) English weather!

  • I don't think that ImperatorDominus quite understands that without the British Empire then there would be no civilised american nation, so if we're that bad then go back to living in a fucking teepee and throwing axes at each other moron.

  • all this to celebrate the birthday of a fucking old bitch waste of space fucking queen, her and her whole fucking family are scum and should be hanged publicly

  • British Empire was "fair" compared with some Empires. But no Empires are good. The Welsh had the Romans, after the Saxons & Angles came the Danish (Viking) Empire, then the Normans (God help us). Some how the peasants have survived. Learn from the Emporers & take the best - makes you stronger.ImperatorDominus - saved our ass? Think you'll find Germany declared war on you. When you have invented as much as we have to benefit the human race. Speal up. Til then - fuck off.

  • Everybody knows, except ImperatorDominus, that the British Empire was the biggest, best, fairest, and best run Empire the world has ever known. What a shame that humankind is so stupid that it doesn't know how to keep a good thing when it has it.

  • @rafflesman You double posted so i deleted one hope that's okay :) One critisim though would be that the British Empire was in no way fair.

  • @apeman371 i agree. mostly because I am IRISH. They attempt to take over an island thinking there will be no fight. Come rape , murder - and think there's no consequences? So therefore the I.R.A came to bomb/murder as they did to the irish during the 1900's. 800 years of them finally came to an end. Call the I.R.A anything you want. But over 70% of people believe we did what had to be done. Thank you.

  • @JokeTimes101 Yes unfortunatly we did what all emperialistic countries did and obliterated out neighbours. sorry

  • @rafflesman .... You are forgetting The United States. On another note; Sorry chap about our late entry in WW II.

  • if only hong kong is part of the commonwealth.... shit

  • Esto se llama tener Grandeza!.

    Admirable...

  • Of all empires past and present none has intrigued me and sparked jealousy like Great Britain. The only to match in discipline is possibly that of Germany (of old). Myself I am from the United States and everything we do (as far as ritualistic ceremonies) is more or less contributed directly to the U.K. and I am not ashamed to say that. But I see little slop in the ranks which I wouldn't have expected at such a ceremony.

  • Compared to the robotic precision seen in videos of the ChiCom and Nork parades, these guys look like amateurs (so do US forces) - lines are always a bit crooked. Thankfully, God is an Englishman. E II R

  • @horselips I'd venture that some of that is choreography -- the 20th century totalitarian regimes had the luxury of reinventing their close order drill, salutes, and all the rest to emphasize regimentation and their particular military fantasies.

I don't suppose these Guards have changed the drill much since the 18th century.

That said, it'd be interesting to hear the queen's impression: by now she must have gotten fairly 'well versed' in the way these drills ought to go.

  • @Rhydderch69 An interesting example is the formation change around 6:00 -- if you're choreographing the drill to look robotic and precise, you don't make your 'robots' flow through a 90 degree facing change. But if you're working off a drill manual from the 18th century, that's a 'compulsory,' and probably one with a 'high degree of difficulty.'

  • @Rhydderch69 I really don't care how well the Commies march, man for man my money's on the Brit, American or Israeli.

  • whats the first theme used i like like the unison of the choir with the instruments its epic

  • @punkzorr That song is called 'Rule Britannia' and was performed by BBC symphony orchestra

  • @punkzorr

and its not just a choir, its the whole audience joining in!

a few years ago they used tech to connect Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales with the Royal Albert Hall in England and they all sang it together, it was epic!

  • Hooray!

  • Fly the Colours of England, for queen and country. God bless us all

  • my son is in the irish guards, he was the escort of the colour, he's here somewhere, god bless the irish guards

  • @joshpigrat ooooo he must of hated that, most soldiers hate parades and all that stuff but it's still cool he got such a high up role.

  • @apeman371

I love parading, i actualy got a form to fill out the other day to apply to become an officer and i would join the Grenadier Guards just for the marching alone.

  • bryn terfel ?

  • March ye men of Harlech bold, Unfurl your banners in the field,

Be brave as were your sires of old, And like them never yield!

What tho' evry hill and dale, Echoes now with war's alarms,

Celtic hearts can never quail, When Cambria calls to arms.

  • The bill browns are trooping the colour this year! I think.

  • Great Britain has one thing the United States doesn't, tradition.

  • The mitre caps look better than the bearskins

  • america didnt win the revolutionary war, France and Spain did. Oh, and dutch money.

  • @Burnzi2 Put it this way: Ben Franklin won the peace.

And France's victory was the last that Louis could afford.

  • Who is the Regimental Sergeant Major at 4.00, An exceptional smart fellow, he has superb foot drill.

  • Rule Britannia, Britannia rule the world !

  • They pretty damn good marching but can you eat them.

    Cannibalism for UK now.

  • um o_O thats all i can really say to that

  • @apeman371 haha weirdo

  • @TheEmperorBokassa Are you mad or just stupid, get on a porn site for your rants, and leave this one to people who appreciate discipline and tradition and of course music!

  • @overopensights "Discipline, tradition and music" How about 22 years now retired in Germany where I was stationed for most of it (when not in more uncomfortable parts of the world.) So no more open sights dreamer bollocks.

  • @TheEmperorBokassa Emperor, if it is a sense of humour that you have then I accept. I just don't like to see the piss taken out of these lads. How about 28 years and retired in somerset. If you were stationed for most of it in Germany then you were perhaps in a corps or heavy artillery and perhaps don't understand fully what you see presented here. However you have done your stint and sincere greetings from me.

  • @overopensights OK. Perhaps my sense of humour is a bit stupid but it was aimed at the destruction of British tradition through mass immigration not at the lads. I come home once a year for The Remembrance Day Parade, I try to stifle the tears for lost mates but every year they flow.Best wishes to you and God save Britain.

  • RULE BRITANNIA

  • the last remembrances of the emperial splendour.....

  • of course they fight in afghanistan and iraq!! they are regular members of the british armed forces. British Grenadiers! good guys!!!

  • They fight in afghanistan and iraq you prick! They only do ceremonial duties several months a year....

  • @IdarkphoenixI No, they're troops! They rotate from ceremonial duties to operational circumstances.

  • meteor616, Thanks, that makes prefect sense -- as guardsmens !!!

  • Nobody does it better. Mark my words. 5:30 onwards. Watch closely. Enough said.

  • I'm sing britons.... God save the Qn..

  • Over all the British Nation is the greatest in the world. You can argue but it ain't going nowhere : ''We'' are the GREATEST

  • Does anyone recall whether the Trooping of the Colour, has gone on during WW2 ??? Thank you. (Yank).

  • i dont think it did.

  • @87penfan

Do you feel better insulting other people? Who minds about your thinking? I'm catalan, not english, and I think scotihs people have the right of autodetermination, but you will not hear me saying bad things about others.

  • im fine towards the british... although i hated them whenever i was learning about the revelutionary war

  • I will give the american's credit for their tactics during that war although you must remember we were kicking Napoleon's arse at the same time :)

  • apeman

thats a good point but king george should have avoided taxation while napoleon was leading france... although if it were not for the french the americans may have lost

  • No you were not. The Revolutionary War spanned the late 1700's. Napoleon was not even in power until the next century, the 19th century (1800's) So both wars had like 30 years between. The loss of the Revolutionary War was a lack of British will to really fight and the fact that the Royal Navy was in such a bad state they were incapable of breaking the French Blockade that cut their supplies. The British Military of the 19th century tho was truly legendry. Not a single war lost!

  • But remember there was the 30 years war in middle on europe which GB was involved in , and the same time the USA was too far away, and it cost a in extent amount of money to form armies aswell as send them 2000 miles to the US.

  • @apeman371 Not realy the same time there.

American War of Independence lasted aproximately from 1775 to the formal British abandonment of any claims to the United States with the Treaty of Paris in 1783.

The french revolution started in1789 and lasted until 1799.

The Napoleonic Wars were a series of conflicts declared against the French Empire that ran from 1803 to 1815. As a continuation of the wars sparked by the French Revolution of 1789.

  • @Moltke But you may also be referring to theThe War of 1812. A war fought between the United States of America and the British Empire - particularly Great Britain and the provinces of British North America, the antecedent of Canada. that lasted from 1812 to 1815. And was fought chiefly on the Atlantic Ocean and on the land, coasts and waterways of North America.

  • @apeman371 that was the war of 1812 we had nothing else going on in the revolutionary war

  • Comment removed

  • God bless our Queen - and the Queen of Canada too - we share many things like a language and culture, pitty the Yanks went in a different direction - their loss.

  • @Whitbywatcher God Bless the United States, God Save the Republic. And thank God we broke away from the tyranny of the british crown. gorge3rd was a tyrant,a despot and a nut job. One of the best things America ever did was to send him packing. We've already kicked and saved your ass two times in a row. I wish you basters would come back for round 3! England, the 51st state : ) ! And is Americana Rules the waves. How many carrier battle groups do you have again. Who is then# 1 SuperPower?USA!
