To be honest, cross bars only work in things that have a very limited range of functions such as the simpler media players/centers. If you want to see a real simplified interface for smaller computers/low experience users; look at KDE's netbook interface or the Meego operating system.

no one seems to know the difference between an OS and a GUI. that's an impressive looking GUI that imitates the PSP GUI, the underlying OS might be processing the videos in such a way to make the previews seemless. Although I really can't blame most people since you can't create your own GUI easily with most OS. its kinda the same reason ppl call nintendo kiddie when nintendo creates hardware and software. the games are kiddy but up until recently the hardware kicked ASS.

Flashy but not very useful, sorry. It might work ok on a console with limited functionality or a handheld but it just looks way to simplistic for the desktop.
