Awesome tune. Most of the times the arranged versions of old school themes like this one suck, but search on youtube for "Double Dragon 2 Arranged Track 10: Roar Of The Double Dragon " and you'll be suprised how good this arranged theme is.

This is one the best Double Dragon games they ever made in general. The music was so so epic for every stage. Why they don't make a more up to date version of this game beats me. Along lines with Double Dragon . Nothing beats a dude that wants to save his girl and has to fight a gang of motherfuckers just to get his point across . That's why I'm glad I got the last version of this on GBA and the converter for the gamecube.

Wonderful game, one of my favs on NES. Great music on most stages. Use 2 player where you can hit each other, kill your teammate and get up to 7 lives.

DD1: Good; DD2: Ridiculously epic soundtrack and gameplay! The game is literally made of WIN; DD3: Way too damn hard...but you better believe I beat it! (the glory of completing the game almost made up for the crappy ending/general storyline)

I completely agree with you, in fact your explanation is by far the most exactly I have read: current consoles have better sound cards and chips than the NES, GENESIS and other machines from the 90 decade but the composers have forgotten how to create catchy melodies as this one. Before game music composers had to work with such limited resources but at the same time they learned how to use those limitations to create wonderful BGM.

The final battle and ending were my favorites; the music, the feeling, and the events...some of the most epic things I've ever witnessed.

I especially loved how the finishing move turns the screen monochromatic, everything goes slo-mo, and the sound as well.
