You pretty much nailed it... I have a brand new Marlin 336 30-30 stainless with grey laminate stock. Fantastic bush gun, can shoot it all day long without needing shoulder surgery, looks stellar, and is easily my favorite rifle in my arsenal. I fuel mine with Hornady Leverevolution, not sure if all Hornady's claims are true, but they certainly do make an excellent round. Still debating on whether or not I should scope it, and with what? Time will tell. Great review.
@TheKlixer Good choice. I bought the very same 336 XLR stainless grey. I did go with Leopold optic on mine and I love it. you should fit it with optics because this riffle is very accurate with the shoot your using and lots of fun. you really get the full potential of what the gun is capable of with the scope
I have the Rossi Rio Grande in 30-30 Stainless. Love it. I believe its pretty well a direct copy of the Marlin with the side eject. Don't think I could bring myself to putting a scope on her though looks kinda stupid IMO as they are a classic western rifle. Feel free to check my videos. Regards
Nice video, I have 2 marlin .30-30's and cant think of a more rugged do-all rifle than this line. I have AR's and other "fad" rifles but simply said my go to weapon of choice is the marlin and with the new hornady leverevolution ammo this caliber throws down at long range and game stopping capabilities.
you got that right man, marlin all the way, my 336 30-30 was my first rifle and i eventually got around to using a winchester and hated it when comparing it to my marlin. marlin for sure
There's a reason for the demise of the Winchester model 94. That reason is the Marlin 336. Marlin kicked Winchester's butt by making a better/higher quality rifle. Lever actions HAD a bad reputation for being inaccurate. That was a Winchester fault, NOT a Marlin fault! Most of the new Marlin's shoot MOA or better! Shocked? Pick up a new .308 Marlin Express or .338 Marlin Express & you'll understand perfectly. & I don't know of a .444 Marlin that doesn't shoot MOA! Good riddance Winchester!
The 30-30 Winchester model o94s drawback was because of top ejection,so you cannot mount a scope on them, other than that I hear they were really great, and then Winchester went to a side ejection I think but then folded.I have the Marlin 30 -30 mod 336 also that was new in 1981 .It has more of a squared shaped lever where yours is rounded. It looks brand new now, never really used it.Less than 40 rounds shot through it.The new ones have synthetic stocks and I do not like the looks of that.
I love Marlin, I've worked with a few over their rifles over the years, in particular the 336 series. I have yet to see one malfuncion, let alone break.
@vancouverbc69 Nice! 44 or 357 leverguns are pretty scarce here cuz they sell out I think. Although $600 sounds like a price markup. I was looking for a 357 but couldnt get one so I had to settle for a used 30-30 Marlin for $239.
Whats she kick like mate? My old man and i were at our local gun shop just last night looking at one of these beauties. I think the old man is pretty set on buying it hehe.. Thanx for the vid upload btw.
you can scope a win 3030 my step dad did, it was a side mount because of the eject, wasnt as accurate because of it but he said it was dead on for a little but when the range was out he used open sites
Man that is a good deal those things are selling for like 600 sometimes, I have a link for seeing when your winchester was made I'll send you that later on today....Laterz bro!
Well, I'm sorry to have to disagree with that, only because Winchester is hugely more popular than Marlin, I hold to the statement that Marlin is a better rifle , but agree that both are legend, Poor management may be the reason Winchester went out of business. However Marlin has gained it's popularity by being better. Thank You for watching the video....
hey buddy would you happen to have any experience with the mossberg leverguns?im about to buy a new one and already have a winchester and a marlin 35,so im kinda up in the air about it even though I agree marlin is the best, good vid to.
Sorry dont have alot of experience with those ie. I dont have one, I have heard they are nice rifles, I was reading about them in a magazine, They seem to be an answer to Winchester going out of bussiness and the market that was flaring up since then, I think that is the target market for those guns, like if you can't find you a winchester check these out.
Then again I'm sure they are probably nice guns too, Also if I remember right the models are sort winchestery know what I mean! I think they are top eject and alot like 94's. I will stick with the Marlin. Thanks for watching,Subscribe!

Both Winchester and Marlins are ledgens in the fire arm industry.
The reason why Marlins are popular is because of poor management on the part of Winchester at least when some gun dealer told me.

Yeah, Winchester is a good rifle, why not have both I'd say, lol. That whinchester hex barrel 30/30 is way fun to shoot!!!
