  • In Portugal we do not lose time to clean the headlights just put two new ones.

  • такая хуйня ! почти не отличается

  • i hav same exact car but with those clear glass lights and theyr very dirty both nside n out. the silver surface on inside is also n bad condition so light doesnt reflect well

  • where did you get that polishing wheel from?

  • @BlueDemonGTR the backing plate came from the headlight kit

  • Turtle wax's headlight polish works better.

  • They still look like shit.

  • there are another much cheaper stuff to do the same............

  • must be polish headlamps...

  • bloody music crap

  • if you clean your car once a week the headlights wouldnt get like that.

  • plastic headlights, never seen any myself. the indicators are normally made of plastic but not the headlights.

  • @speedmasteruk1 i used to have that exact car it's thick plastic u can tell when u knock on it

  • Guys, this is real, he did it on a real headlight, so stop your complaining! >:(

  • Scratch that, it's power steering fluid

  • TRANSMISSION FLUID WILL MAKE IT LOOK BETTER!!!!!! It's amazing at how well it works! It takes that film like stuff right off of it! See for yourselves!

  • I think this is real glass and not plastic

  • great

  • Nice video, but what you should have done was to explain what you were doing; how much polish to use, what to do/ not to do, tips and tricks, etc. That would have been MUCH better than the Michael Dudikoff 80's American Ninja-esque music...

  • I WILL HAVE TO GET THIS DONE

  • this is not plastic headlight

  • plastic x is awesome

  • do they sell this at walmart?and whats the reason for putting teh yellow tape in the middle?

  • @SuperD104 The purpose of the tape is to show the difference between the side where the product was used and the side without treatment...

  • do they sell this at walmart?

  • its fake they put another headlight.

if you see it says before (right headlight)

    after left headlight) omg fake

  • @besir87 its not fake!

  • ehhh not bad.. I would have wet sanded em first.

  • @DaleStiles thats the drivers side headlight that has the spider crack not the passenger which he did the polish on. He probably just did another 5050 on that side

  • Look at top left corner poor job :/

I recommend new set of headlights and HID kit :)

  • i recommed buy a new set of headlights ,period.

  • the problem is with sanded headlight !! no Meguiars product can remove that unless you scrub it with a sandpaper .

  • It still looks oxidized in the upper left corner

  • I love Meguiars products, I use them all the time to detail my car, truck and Harley. However, this video bothers me because at 3:30 there is a visible rock chip/spider crack in the unpolished side. I don't see the same crack when the lens is fully polished.

  • Just keep the headlights and the car properly washed and waxed and you will NEVER have this problem.

  • every idiot commenting saying "you can do this with any folish" drives some beat up POS or doesn't care about long term results. Meguiar's is the real deal, it's used for restoring headlights of upper class cars like BMW's, Mercedes', Acura's, Lexus, etc... any idiot can polish their headlights for a temporary clear and temporary shine... but a professional or someone that cares about their car uses a quality product like Meguiar's. The rest of you can have fun doing ur work over and over again

  • polish* ... and @lc2dae suggested sanding it down with 2000 grit wet sandpaper, and if you're doing a deep restoration, that's exactly where to start. plastic headlights go to looking brand new with meguiar's when done properly.

  • Does every Headlight Restoration video on youtube have to have an awful techno soundtrack?!? AHahahahhaha

  • مشكور

  • No, your replying to a comment I made about how dirty this car is.

  • I was fist pumping to that beat the whole time!

  • Comment removed

  • @UnstableCore its just an old vehicle in bangkok that we found. it has oxidation problems and is faded from the sun, rain and extreme environmental impacts.

  • @meguiarsasia I must say, I used some scratch X 2.0 today. It worked very well. thanks.

  • @UnstableCore it doesnt actually. you need polish and sometimes even sandpaper to remove it

  • @carguy379 On my car, as long as the scratch doesn't penetrate the clear coat itself, it will work fine. But if the scratch is paint deep then its ineffective.

  • @UnstableCore a real scratch will not be removed with just soap and water

  • @UnstableCore i really wanna see u doing that soap and water, make a video and see if it come out the same -.-

  • @UnstableCore Man sdfu you look like an ignorant when you talk like this. SHUT UP -.-

  • @bloodyangel5463 I'm sorry to see that a comment angered you and others. This account was shared and the comment has been deleted.

  • i did this to the back of my ipod touch and it made it look brand new!

  • would this not work better if you rubbed it down with 2000 grit sandpaper to remove corrosion prior

  • @lc2dae yes! this is a medium option, more aggressive than hand applied, but less aggressive than our new Heavy Duty Headlight kit that does include foam finishing discs to sand with.

  • Clear Coating the lights work better.

  • I didn't even know that headlights can get that yellow, the end result looks simply amazing!

  • he even buffed the area around the headlight, he should have covered it up with tape

  • wow looks great!

  • Pastx....can you use that on an ipod screen? that would be sweet.

  • Save your money. Use toothpaste, it work just the same.

  • Save your money. Use toothpaste, it work just the same.

  • Who cares its a Toyota

  • was this shot in Thailand?

  • @badlamb yes

  • @badlamb how did you know?

  • @badlamb No ofcourse not, it says "POLISH"

  • Wait, do all headlights turn yellow after a long time? Including new 2011 vehicles? The material seems so different than older materials.

  • @undertake782 if the plastic is exposed to UV rays and sunlight...yes over time it will turn yellow....especially in very sunny environments

  • does this kit include everything but the drill right? and is this reusable i was thinking about doing this for my fathers car which are worse than those headlights its practically yellow

  • @myztichydra yes it is reusable and includes the product, drill pad, and towel. If you want more aggressive you can use the Meguiar's professional one that has sand paper. :D

  • ive gotten same results with toothpaste and just normal buffing compound. Toothpaste is difficult cause it dries easy but its free and effective

  • had my tail light smoked. now i wanna take them off. they were sanded down with 1000 grit sandpaper, whould this work if i strip them down and use your product?

  • @lunasicc916 this product is for light to medium defects. If you are sanding, you want our pro headlight kit.

  • @lunasicc916 you could use 1000 or 1200 and plastic x or fine compound

  • @lunasicc916 Wet sand with 1000 vertically then 2000 horizontally, then use this and it will look perfect!

  • @gone911helloWRX Toothpaste on headlights? LOL What brand? I'll throw that in my book of natural detailing concoctions. Natural lemon removes rust!!

  • @DawgcityClev toothpaste buffing works but it sure ain't no natural conconction given the chemicals in that paste. The abrasive nature of the toothpaste will work as a 3000-4000 sanding paper but it won't protect the lense in the coming weeks/days. Use a wax or a seal to protect your plastic lense from UV light and ozone. Plastics will get discolored when exposed to sunlight unless protected

  • @DawgcityClev it actually does, because its mildly abrasive, but it has to be paste, not gel or else it'll just make your lights smell good haha

  • Nice video. Thanks for showing how it's done!

  • @runamoktoo - cool, were your lights badly damaged?

  • they just had normal UV damage over many years

  • @meguiarsasia , no probs, would you still be able to use this product after sanding chips out of lights for same effect?

  • if you used a light sanding paper like 2500 or 3000 preferably. Really if you are sanding you should use our professional headlight kit.

  • i would like to see him wipe the other half with a wet cloth then dry just to make sure the cloudy screen is not paste and actually real scratches, surly a buffing pad cant take away the scrathes and chips, you would need to yse 1200 - 3000 grit sand paper then polish

  • @supafly1982 - wow bad spelling :)

  • Why does the music sound something from an 80's crime drama?

  • @DonRonter HAHAHAH yeah this sounds like Blade Runner!

  • can for plastic use plastX ? if plastic not weight damage ? can use by hand ?

  • @Liberaltedjo yes plastx is to be used on plastic parts

  • nice uuuh...........

can remove hard damage of plastic ??

what NXT shampoo effects ? than gold class shampoo ?

and what different gold class and NXT tech wax 2.0 ??

    i want to buy G220, where r u Mr ??

  • @Liberaltedjo

    1. PlastX can remove light to moderate defects

    2. Gold class gives more of a wet look and is a shampoo and conditioner while NXT is a shampoo

    3. Gold class is a blend of synthetic and carnuba wax and NXT 2.0 is going to give the best protection and is a pure synthetic wax and contains hydrophobic technology

G220 DA's are available outside the USA

  • sooo, if black car more good if use gold class yea ? soo black ? if NXT for high gloss, right ?

    u know indonwsia meguiar's bos ? daniel

  • Gold class gives more of a wet look and NXT gives better protection. Yes, Daniel is an expert in Indonesia for Meguiar's.

  • u have facebook ?

i've NXT now, but i want to try gold class, gold class pasta / liquid ? for best result

  • both paste and liquid give you the same result

  • if drying use what ? PVA chamois ? i have AION chamois, if i buy G220 and swirlX can remove 100% ? how to wash microfiber towel ?

  • @Liberaltedjo to dry use a microfiber drying towel...G220 with Ultimate compound will be the strongest combination to remove defects...swirlx is the least aggressive consumer cleaner. microfiber towels should be put with only microfiber towels with normal clothing soap and air dried or machine dry with no drying towel.

  • but no problem if i only have swirl use ultimate compound ?

if use likes PVA chamois no problem ?

  • no problem

  • people said PVA chamois can make swirl,

i believe in u meguiar's, if megs water magnet that's very good for drying ?

  • yes, the best is to use microfiber drying towel.

  • I used this product and another one from 3M. 3M will work better if the lens are really beaten down by weather. I will test them again on my BMW.

  • I love plastic x. Greatest product ever. I used it on my Toyota Paseo headlights and taillights and now they look like new again, and I still have a lot of product left. I got my best comment because they where selling a headlight restoration product around my local malls parking lot and the guy looked at my car and said "These are still new". LOL

  • could this work ona snowboard?

  • if the board has plastic on it, yes

  • 1000 grit 2000 grit 3000 grit then plasix x or i heard tooth paste works too. i used the plastic x but ive heard good things about toothpaste too, lol ppl will do anything to save 3 bucks

  • toothpaste does, but you have to use generic normal toothpaste or with baking soda in it , non of the whitening stuff

  • gota sand em first

  • to make them better and more perfect, yes....usually sanding is for professionals...this is a consumer item.

  • its a glass headlight i can tell. the plastic headlights are more harder to clean

  • you can do this with any polish liquid. I always use it with my Corolla. Is the same crap.

  • What kind of polish liquid would u recommend? I'm a college student on a budget and i need to clean my camaro's headlights. :/

  • If you want the cheapest wax Meguiar's offers, it would be our consumer cleaner wax that polishes, protects and a bit of cleaning.

  • That's amazing!!!

  • Looks like a good addition to the product line

  • i use that platx stuff it works so good!
