I want to move to Florida. Im from Nebraska its fairly boring there and Colorado's getting old, I feel confined by the mountains. (I live in a valley bowlish thing. lol) I would like to visit California, New York, Oregon(Visit my Grandpa.), Nebraska (Visit family.), Hawaii, San Diego (Gay pride! :P), thats it for the states I guess. And i'd love to go to Germany, UK, Australia, Greece, etc.
lol! OMG, I live in new york city and every year i get less and less tolerant of the cold. i HATE the cold too!! but i tried to move to the south and lived in new orleans until katrina blew my ass back up north so i'll stay here for a while. seattle sucks. i grew up in italy but never went to england. i am thinking of moving there. canada is too cold.
A step in the direction of New Zealand might be to learn the common languages there or to sample new zealands cuisine or find that portal to middle Earth. If you do find a way to middle earth, could you give me directions.
New Zealand should have been named greenland, greenland should have been named iceland, iceland should of been named grass island. And I would like to visit europe, india, israel, Egypt and new zealand
I want to go to Italy to see the Sistine Chappel; Michaelangelo painted it, and if I remember right Raphael also was from the likes of somewhere in Italy.
Although it's cold in the winter, you should come check out Canada. I think you'd love to go to Vancouver or check out Calgery or Edmonton even going to the east of Canada and checking out Montreal or Ottawa. Maybe Europe is more your flavor. there is so much that Europe has to offer. Go and check out Holland or if rave is your thing check out the Spanish island of Ibiza they have the world's largest night club on this Island which holds fourteen thousand people. So many places to go and see.
Not only are the people in the south jerks, they say "Bless your heart!" to cover it up. Born in Mississippi and visit Alabama once a month and for the summer ;)
Then there's Kentucky where I live, it's boring. No fun at all unless you like horses and basketball. I, of course, don't like basketball and don't pay attention to horses :\
Best comment ever, "people in the south are jerks too, just with a smile on their face." Sooo true! I've lived and visited a lot of places all over the US and several foreign countries and I have to say, don't be disapointed that happiness is not a location but a state of mind. North Carolina's people problems are not much different than in other parts of the country or world. Just to let you know: "people are people."
you should go to tallin! im not sure if it very artsy, but definitely very cutesy. out of all the scandinavian countries, i would suggest estonia. or finland. in the summer though, as apparently cold weather is not a favourite.
Woods woods and more woods. Thats what you'll get here.
Also its pretty hot here. Im kinda ashamed of the fact that this state leads in all of the bad things about this country (education etc, etc) , but i was born and raised here so im used to it.
Mississippi is also a "leading in bad things" state.
Once i get out of here, i too plan to travel around this big blue rock.
Well, hey, we've got all sorts of great blues, greens, and nice peeps and very nice weather down in Ecuador. You guys come visit. Or, come to Portland--I've got room for yez here, too!
By the way, I used to live in NZ; even in the north, winters can be mizzable. Japan? Lived there, too--nice place--but except way south, there's that winter thing again. Maybe go in Spring or Fall--Japan's the best then: got hot springs!
I think I sent you a mass of stuff on where I've lived. Maybe you didn't have the time to read it, or maybe its details fell outa your ear when you slept on your side?
Anyway, there's a big gap between talkin' about going traveling and actually hittin' the road. Once you've done the latter, the adventure becomes real. That's not to say you're not experienced in other ways; in fact, I think your life experience has made you unusually wise. Time for bed here. Have a great day.
Yep. By email. When you guys get ready to travel, let me know. If it's out my way, you have a place to stay.
Travel's a thing of place and moment: some of the countries I've been to have changed so much you could say they don't exist anymore. Journeying, on the other hand, can be completely of the heart and mind. Look at your and James's journey--the places you've been, the heights you've climbed and the lows you've climbed out of. Some never get that far, even with planes and trains.
portland is a really cool place, alot of free spirited and open people there. seatle is cool the view from the space needle is awesome. japan rocks! i went to okinawa.
if u love the energy and the vibe of NY be ready for a very low frequency in new zealand. everything will be moving in one slow motion. i repeat! every thing will be in sloww motion.the best place to live i would suggest is your mind... try it.
you dont seem much different, with your stupid eyeshadow and blahblah i hate this, all you need is bobby by your side again. then again, you got that nigger bf, travian or jamal or whatever, and he IS black, so thats even goth-er.
Lol I am from Colorado and I lived in North Carolina for about a year and was MISERABLE! I have never been so depressed I even started drinking heavily..ugh I will never go back I <3 Colorado!
I live in Australia & I think its the complete package.
The north eastern region is tropics so if its cold down in my state (victoria) you can jet off to Queensland where its warm. I myself have only been to Malaysia & Singapore both very beautiful places, I would recommend everyone visit those at least once.
But I would love to explore the enitre world not just a few select places. So many amazing sites to see, so little years in life!
I have been to other places besides North Carolina. Like I said, I lived in New York for the first half of my life, and have visited every state between NY and NC, and been to Canada as well.
Thats interesting, its similar in Australia, if you live up north the weather is great but the people and culture leave something to be desired. If you live down south in the more built up areas the weather is not so great but the culture and people become more interesting. I see a pattern here, we sacrifice weather for culture; hmmm perhaps I could reduce this down to a graph or a mathematical formula and find the perfect town to live in.
I would love to travel but my life is not really moving in a direction where I will have very much freedom, in fact every year I feel more bound to where I am now. In order and over about ten years: Paris, London, Rome, Venice, Mumbai, Lhasa, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Moscow, Montreal, NY, LA, home.
You should come to Florida sometime and check it out! It's really underrated, all people think of Florida as like Miami - the party place or something or old people central, but really the weather is beautiful and if you find the right spot there's all sorts of interesting scenes and blue skies and pretty sounds.
Have to tell you something... I just finished the movie 'Hoodwinked'. Don't know if you have seen it, but the main character, 'Red Puckett' totally reminds me of you. Beautiful blue eyes, sweet cheeks and the will to travel far away. You really should check it out sometimes. It's like a animated version of you. Anyway: love your video's and always enjoy getting your response. Love from Holland!
Albuquerque, New Mexico is warm most of the year, but we don't have near the humidity that you might like.
I didn't like the Denver and Jefferson County areas in Colorado due to coldness and snow factors. They cope with it really well, it just sucks to be in.
There are lots of artful people in Taos, New Mexico, but that is way up higher than Denver and Albuquerque, which are both a mile in the air from sea level. So colder.
Good luck, I hope you travel everywhere your heart desires.
I recommend Berlin. It's worth your time as much as San Francisco (awesome) and NYC (awesome), and you'll find pretty much the best "really cool art scene" I've ever found in the world. Plus the city doesn't rest with the sun, which is a plus when you're used to... that. =)
Hey Emily, I've never commented but I've seen, well, alot of your videos/blogs/Vlogs. It's not that I'm an avid listener(watcher[sorry =( ]), and it's not like you've ever saved my life or anything (which apparently you've done for other people and that must feel utterly fantastic), but you are seriously the most interesting and definately the most sincere person to listen to on youtube. I just thought i owed you at least a thanks for all the videos you've created.
NYC is the best I live about 30 min away from Port Authority 9th Ave/42nd St right by Times sq.
Always a sweet place to go I hope you get to walk around and enjoy the scenery, see Central Park, and everything great about it.! Good luck with your travels.
ps. don't worry about getting around NYC public transport is well organized and easy to take full advantage off.
(My dad was in the navy for 8 years and he always said that NZ was the most beautiful place on earth.) Most people think that the Keys get really hot in the summer, but that isn't the case.... the trade winds keep it very nice and comfy. Just watch out for hurricane season which seems to get a bit worse each year. Rat Man
Hey Beauty; I've seen a few nice places in my travels. Have you ever been to the Keys? There isn't much of an art scene there though there is some local talent. In that you don't like being cold, the Keys could be a perfect place for you until you get up enough scratch for a move to New Zealand.
Where in NY did you live? I'm from the Finger Lakes region, and I completly agree with you on the cold. Ny is beautiful, but the cold & snow really starts to get to you after awhile.
I'd like to put another vote out there for RUSSIA. GO! You won't regret it. Beautiful country, great culture, amazing people, good art scene. I cannot say enough good things about it. I've been almost 20 times...someday I will live there.
I'll be in New Zealand in a week and a half! I'm spending my fall break there for 2 weeks :) I'll try and take videos of it and actually start a proper youtube page!
Places I'd like to go are: Portland, Oregon, Maine (no particular reason other than its all the way up in the northeast and seems like a lonely state), Ireland, England, Spain, and Germany. I'd love to spend a year in Spain to practice my spanish, so that may be my next stop after Australia! (where I'm studying now)
where i like to go is wv but i like it here in florida i just hate my house and the nighborhood where i live in my house is falling a part i got girl friend that comeing to see me soon we may get a aprtmet oh well i hope it all work out for me
I think its funny that most of the US places you listed are all cold. :) Chicago is COLD. dont go there in the winter. it's cold. like turn you into an icicle cold. Seattle can get very cold, Portland can too, and San Fran is really really cool, but it's hilly and chilly. And what about Alaska? I want to go there for the scenery and whale watching. Colorado has great weather in the spring/summer so i recommend that to you too. I just want to go everywhere. NZ, Paris, Italy, Japan...
yea, dude, chicago is pretty cool. check out the street drummers in front of the art institute of chicago when you go. Being from Texas a) I feel you and your predicament b) a lot of people here go to austin and/or skip over to portland. I hear that Minneapolis has a budding art scene. I would also suggest Tokyo, Mumbai, the Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Denmark, etc.) and Germany. Prague is suppose to be pretty cool as well.
New Zealand is very cold in winter. The snow in Lord Of The Rings is really real in the South Island. Make sure you move to the northern part of the North Island.
My favourite places I've been are the northwest coast of Scotland (huge mountains plunging down to beautiful coast, with few people but friendly people) and southeastern China ("forests" of sharp little mountains with rivers between, and happy people living among them). I like combinations of coast with high ground.
You've been to Canada, but have you seen the Canadian west coast? Vancouver is Canada's San Francisco.
Vital arts scene, culturally tolerant, Asian community large enough that it sets some of the tone of the city, gorgeous scenery, etc., etc. And the Japan Current keeps it from being terribly cold.
@paytotheorderofofof2 ur so cool(: o very much enjoy your vids(: make more and ignore the hateerrrz.! Lolol xD

It's really underrated, all people think of Florida as like Miami - the party place or something or old people central, but really the weather is beautiful and if you find the right spot there's all sorts of interesting scenes and blue skies and pretty sounds.

Heey Emily,
Have to tell you something...

Thank you! I'm glad you decided to comment, that makes me smile. Very sweet words too. Thank you a lot.

Indeed. I probably won't be out of college until I'm 26 or 27, but I plan on spending the rest of my 20's and possibly my early 30's traveling. :)

Rat Man
Snagglefratz 2 years ago
Hey Beauty; I've seen a few nice places in my travels. Have you ever been to the Keys? There isn't much of an art scene there though there is some local talent. In that you don't like being cold, the Keys could be a perfect place for you until you get up enough scratch for a move to New Zealand.
Snagglefratz 2 years ago
No, I haven't been there, but you've interested me. :)

Where in NY did you live? I'm from the Finger Lakes region, and I completly agree with you on the cold. Ny is beautiful, but the cold & snow really starts to get to you after awhile.

NZ, Paris, Italy, Japan...
fairypixie 2 years ago
Hahah, well it just so happens that all the cool places are in the cold!! Artists must like the cold...
paytotheorderofofof2 2 years ago
You guys need something to inspire you, right? Why not the cold!
fairypixie 2 years ago
new zealand?! i recommend moving to germany. my house will always have a free place for you.
altma 2 years ago
yea, dude, chicago is pretty cool. check out the street drummers in front of the art institute of chicago when you go.
Pato100000 2 years ago
New Zealand is very cold in winter. The snow in Lord Of The Rings is really real in the South Island. Make sure you move to the northern part of the North Island.
My favourite places I've been are the northwest coast of Scotland (huge mountains plunging down to beautiful coast, with few people but friendly people) and southeastern China ("forests" of sharp little mountains with rivers between, and happy people living among them). I like combinations of coast with high ground.

Oh and I've been to about 25 countries but the places I'd still like to go are South America, Africa and India. On a bicycle. For months at a time.

You've been to Canada, but have you seen the Canadian west coast? Vancouver is Canada's San Francisco.
Vital arts scene, culturally tolerant, Asian community large enough that it sets some of the tone of the city, gorgeous scenery, etc., etc. And the Japan Current keeps it from being terribly cold.
caple66wood 2 years ago
Nah, I have not been anywhere in the West, heh. Sounds cool. :]
