  • IN PARADISUM!

  • Beautiful meditative improvisation!! I've enjoyed listening to this for some time now!!

  • ...in paradisum deducant te angeli

    Paris, St. Sulpice, Daniel Roth

...großartig, könntest Du das zu meinem Requiem improvisieren?

  • The theme is in Paradisum

  • Is he using the Liber Usualis again or is it a theme from another source?

  • You are correct, it is the Liber Usualis, he uses it for every improvisation during a service, although sometimes if he is given a theme, he will improvise on that e.g. the video of the Improvisation his did on "Bernard Hoving" is one example of that.

  • Reminds me of Durufle!

  • @genantray91 I was just thinking the same thing!

  • what allows the other manuals on this organ to be played basically by themselves

  • a device called a coupler links the keyboards together, on some organs which electronic key action the keys on the other keyboards don't move, but this Organ is pneumatic, so they do move. The couplers are activated and deactivated either by stops or pistons, but in this case it is pedals.

  • cool thx

  • he's doing a improvisation on the gregorian chant of introitus of the Missa de profundis - Requiem......really awsome

  • There are and were organists like chochereau, latry, fox, durufle..., but roth will always be my favourite!

  • This is pure style of Charles Tournemire, excellent improvisation! It sounds similiar to his L'Orgue Mystique, mainly because of harmony and registration (Gamba + Voix celeste at the beginning, later theme played by Hautbois and flute), but what is maybe more important - is fact that this improvisation is based on plainchant theme.

Realy beautiful piece, thanks for posting!

  • indeed, I completely agree, also, Plainchant is one of the most beautiful things to improvise with on an Organ, I love doing it.

  • Exactly, it is Violoncelle +Voix céleste in the beginning - but this are details, great improvisation!
