I think a HUGE TD-25 was made for a short time, but the TD-24 is the most common large IH dozer. The very early IH dozers had higher numbers (i.e. T or TD 20, 35, and 40. Then they changed to TD 6,9,18,20,24,ect.
Notice as you was cranking it by hand you was pushing downward on crank.Was that a normal thing for some guys to do.Quote i was alway taught to pull upward?
Have also notice from time to time seem like them old engine crank few time before starting even with starter.Sure like to see them smoke the barn though in cool weather.

@gangesexcavating No I sold all the TD20's with my buy out. I only have the D8K but I'm looking for a D7R at the moment.
Yes I prefer the 20 over the D7 but the dealer support for them is beyond shitty!! so its back to a D7.........

A TD-40 is a late 30's early 40's model.
