  • 50-60 knots wind my butt! You make a complete ass of yourself, presenting such landlubber crap!

  • Looks more like 100+ knots to me....

  • ridicolo

  • 60 knots??? this is about 5 BF

  • A 60 knot gust would knock the boat flat with the amount of sail you had up. I think your instruments are over reading! :D

  • you are most irresponsible sir, as the captain you should know that no one should be on deck without a pdf in those conditions, particularly children, if you loose one overboard they as good as dead. Once again, people do not need a licence to operate a boat, what a shame

  • 60 knots! Not even close, perhaps you may have had a few gusts but nothing over 25 knots, Mainly 18 to 20, great sailing breese. Bring it on!

  • Unfortunately I have had experience seling with 48 knots of wind and sea state 6. I can guarantee that my 38 ft boat after tightening the sails (dry) was still running at 6 knots

  • I can see there is a very import laywer sailing.......60 knots!!!!!!! Yeah, they lying the ass off and the more important they are, the more they can lie..... This video sucks and was a waste of my time. Just say how it is and I might like the video.

  • at any wind any child should wear a PFD. (personal Flotation Device). The fact that you arrived safely is NOT because of a proper adult sailor's judgement.

    Comunque buon vento sempre! ;-)

    Abbello.

  • @sergiocasali

Abbello, your english wording is somewhat as flawed as your fanciful 60 knots... :*D

I assure you that I spent at least some seconds skimmin' through your inconsistent answers before posting my comment. My comment was triggered by the silliness of your video (haven't you bothered to understand why so many viewers disliked it?) -- if you avoided greatly-exaggerated, ridiculous titles and descriptions nobody would have anything to question.

    3 consigli:

    1) prima di postare video inutili con titoli roboanti impara ad andare a vela (se non sai distinguere un 60 nodi e non badi alla sicurezza dei bambini sei davvero un pericoloso incosciente);

    2) non scrivere "very important lawyer" se non vuoi passare per un ridicolo provincialotto;

    3) ascolta musica decente (Ligabue sta al vero rock come i tuoi ridicoli 60 nodi stanno a un Beaufort forza 11)

    buon vento

  • You are quite a sailor. Your instruments say: wind speed 11 knots (right gauge) wind angle: 60 degrees (middle one). Look close at 1:23. At this angle you should ease off your sails to reduce incline of the boat.

I also agree about sailing with children without lifejackets. If somebody fall overboard (it's just a matter of seconds) there would be nearly no chances of survival.

  • Barely any white caps. I say 12-15 knots at most. That, and look at the flag, your hat, your kids... their hair, your empty water bottles going nowhere, the clothing and lack of movement.... This ain't no "hide yo wives, hide yo kids" show. Shit, I see more than that at 25 knots sustained winds, which isn't even a light gale at 31 knots, which I have sailed in.

  • Hi, Sorry you made a mistake, in your video the instrument you were looking is about the angle you have between the boat and the wind, so in the video you were in 60 degres from the wind , and not 60 knots so if the instrument write 90 it is not 90 knots but 90 degres.. :) I'm sure since this video, you improved your sailing skill...if this day you'd got 60 knts, it was very much not responsible to get out to sail with unskilled children and woman. You 're scraing me....Cheers

  • Safety comes first. If the winds were blowing that hard put the kids in life jackets and jack line them to the boat.

  • I know very well this place because I'm corsican and I was so much times beetween bonifacio and santa theresa di gallura with different wind and sometimes with 55 knots.. But here you wrote 60 Knots.... NEVER !!!! Maximum 15/20 knots.

  • There's no way that was 60 knots. Waves indicate perhaps 20 knots average max! If you were truly sailing in 60 knot gusts, you jib would be triple reefed or you would be constantly slammed to leeward. It looks like you jib (or genoa!) is not reefed at all.

  • I've been sailing all my life and only once had the misfortune to sail in 60 knots of breeze. I can assure you that your silly hat would not still be on your head and your children would have blown over the side had there really been 60 knots of wind. In 60 knots you can't hear yourself think for the noise of the wind through the rigging. In 60 knots, sails are not required. Children should always, always! always! wear lifejackets or a harness.

  • 60 kts, bullshit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have sailed in 40-45 in a similar boat and it is nothing like this ,

this guy needs to cal his inst

  • real 65 knots on J109 at youtube LO300 2010. Shredded sail. Look at around 2:20 in HD to see instruments.

  • real 65 knots on J109 at youtube LO300 2010.

  • 60 knts, no i don't believe, i can see 22 knts on the instruments

by 60 knts, no children outside ! you should check your instruments

    keep on sailing,

    bye sergio

  • 60 nodi ?

  • The instruments in the video clearly show about 17 knots. That would be consistant with the weather conditions in the video.

  • Not even close to 60 knots. If your instruments really were reading at 60 knots then you need to get them checked.

  • Haha. Xcuse me. Have you ever seen 60 knots??? At 30 knots of wind, there is a lot of horizontal foam. And waves are at least 3 meter high, or, if you are in an enclosed area, they are lower but very short and hard, so that you get a bumpsy, choppy journey. If I see the flag, it might have been about 20-25 Knots.

AT 60 knots of wind, you really have a TOTALLY other aspect. You would not be smiling and laying at ease at the deck. You would have to rope yourself tight.

  • Seems like Sergio has an answer for all criticism.....typical lawyer, never thinks he's wrong. 25 knots wind max. Kid's and adult passengers should have lift vests on!!!! Hey Sergio what if you need to go forward and get knocked overboard? I bet you are the only one who knows what to do and that's scary cause by this video you're dangerous and need some lesson's for yourself! What a JACKASS!!!!!

  • Looks like a force 6. No more.

in 60 knots you couldn't have all that sail surface!

Anyway I like all videos about sailing!

    Ciao

  • @nutella61 Not 6 even !!! definitely not

  • 18 knots, in gusts maybe force 6. In 60 knots you cannot breath properly, foam is blown of the waves' peaks and everybody wears harnesses. Children on board a sailboat must wear life buoyances at any time. Get off the water, jerk!!!

  • The waves should be became larger after a few hours, when the fetch was bigger.

The winds was calm when we started sailing, and after 30 minute became from 50-60 kts. When it raised we were shelterd form a small isle and the sea was flat. I'm not putted the video for a video awards or to obtain a personal bargain for me.

Also, probably we were experiecing a windshear phenomenal and at the sea level we had a wind intensity dfferent from the masthead where the windforce was read. bye

  • Pretty! You were experiencing 30kts max.

At 60kts, the waves get quite large, they break, the tops are all sheared off and frothy, everything looks grey, and it's hard not to be scared.

  • Does not seem to be 60 knots, but still nice video.

  • It would be not seem, but the Raymarine Wind instrument said there were between 50 and 60 knots of wind and beyond, but the sea was enough calm and there wasnt big waves because there wasnt lot of fetch. The instrument was pointing always around 60 kts but I dont know if readings was inaccurate, but I assure the wind was very strong and I had only a very small jib (unfurled) on the bow and the boat speed was always 8-10.

  • 60 knots - never! ( even Raymarine Wind instruments ( and especially them!!!! )) often dont show the real wind. and as a lawyer your friend should have told you, that it is absolutly!!!! without any responsibility to take a trip with childeren without lifebelts! Hope you arrived safe in the next harbour!

  • The children was get out the internal of the boat only when the sea became flat and we are sheltered fom a small isle.

They were in the cockpit wothout risk and watched by my wife. It wasn't neessary lifebelts for a few minute the were and in a flat sea condition.

infact we were arrived without any kind of trouble or injure.

We aren't been irresponsible in that situation.

    bye
