@wdgarraway Hawking had done some great work in physics. And, no doubt, without his extreme physical disability, he would have been able to produce even more. Unfortunately, he has become yet another pop physics icon who does nothing but hypothesize. At least Hawking IS smart enough to know that anthropogenic global warming (AGW) is real and serious. But, come on: appearing on a stupid fantasy soap opera like "Star Trek"?

@SupermarketsRevil Sorry for the follow-up, but I actually DO know of a family who is addicted to science-fiction - all the Star Trek spinoffs, Star Wars (I love all 6 SW movies, but I don't own them & never spent money seeing any of them a 2nd time) to the point that their imagination and ability to think logically is so screwed up by endless excursions into fantasy, yet they are selfish and thousands of dollars in debt due to their petty greed.

So, add excessive tv-watching to your list.
