  • I feel you on the eyelashes situation. I don't know how many times I've walked into a beauty supply store and was asked what type of lashes I have on...really???? LOL! I even had situations when people told me my contacts are pretty...THEY ARE REAL MANNNN...lmbo! People just need to keep it simple....you have pretty eyes, nice skin, etc...let that person tell you their secret if they have one, dont assume its fake! I try not to be bother by it cause I now they mean well, just bad at wording it.

  • I love wigs/weaves/extensions. My hair is crazy thin, and I'm probably going to have to move to wigs all the time in the next 10 of years. How can I ask without offending? Because if I'm going to ask what wig they are wearing or where they got their extensions done, it's because I'm impressed and I want the wig, or would use the service in question.

I wouldn't do it in front of a ton of people or really loudly because that is just rude.

  • @Karaisoke just use good judgement! not all people are openly comfortable talking about their hair problems if they do face them, you know?

  • it's called a back-handed compliment...when .a nasty female is trying to say something rude but she tries to cover it up by pretending to say it in a nice way.

  • i am watching all your videos right now lol and am commenting for the first time to this ine b/c i can relate! i am latina and i have long thick eyelashes also. i have been asked if i was wearing eyeliner and when i said no, then she asked are you wearing fake eyelashes and again i said no and she just said "oh". i didnt expect a compliment or anything but damn dont be rude. i agree with you: if you are going to say or ask someone something about their appearance, think about it first

  • @arianamar -I had a hostess at a restaurant ask me if my lashes were mine,(they were faux - lol) I said define mine because they are on my eyes.......... she said oh well.... I like them anyway they're gorgeous! I said thank you - how about that's all you had to say?????? SMH!

  • @msfabulous43 Agreed! People should start with a compliment because it obviously caught their attention. LOL Then it`s the other person`s choice to say the truth or not!

  • i know this is random but on ur other video "why should you wear orange blush?" well i have a question does that work on yellow people like u know pecan tan. lol mybe i should just say light skinned. im really light. sometimes i pass for half -white half-black so would orannge blush work on me

  • OMG! The back-n-forth about the "fake" eyelashes was hillarious! You do have wonderful natural eyelashes. I'd love to try falsies but I'm skerred!

  • Wow, those colors look good on you. You're really pretty, and nice. :)

  • i totally understand what you mean, my daughters have very long thick lashes and people always ask if they're fake and what makes me more angry is when people ask what theyre mixed with? assuming that they are not fully black becasue they have long silky natural hair. They're only 2 and 4 get real people

  • whats the point in making something look as natural as possible just to later go ahead and highlight that its fake!! hell I don't want u telling me u like my weave or my wig especially if u gotta ask if its fake- that just means my hair stylist did a freaking good job!! Just say u like my god damn hair- heck!! I got locks btw lol but i'm just saying lol

  • I LOVE YOUR BIG EYES!!! Mines are a bit on the small side...lol

  • @montegogyal2 thank yooou :)

  • ... because I'm black! lol that made me laugh!

  • but dont give a shit just ignore those comments girl

  • yup if you want make up look good you should have good skin cause no matter what you put on you is not going to look flawless if your sking is not and you know on what tone people make complements

  • @MegaBeba09 I had skin issue after being a teen ager. I discovered what celebrtites do. its not facial scrubs microfacials. those things help.they go to adermatologist's N pop a little pill... it has changed my life. Pimple free & I take 2 a week.... sometimes its hormones, stress, etc anything.....is it being fake or looking their best. I hate the word fake too. I wear LF's lashes makeup, spanx, am I fake? whatever I am u better watch how u approach me. roll those big eye & leave them looking

  • @awwyeahme2 I dont thing you are fake cuz I do wear fake eyelashes people makes comments cuz they think they better but I think you are beautifull and watever you use thats is just like the cherry on top so dont give a shit about thhose comment from that people you rock girl no matter what they said

  • funny girl....love it!

  • LMAO! Omg!! ppl always ask if my lashes are fake lol...

These cheerleaders that always went to where I worked were always exactly like that reenactment... ugh, so irritating when ppl dont believe me lol...

Love this video, so true, so true...

    LOvE yA,

    Priscilla

  • i 100% agree with you. putting makeup on is an art. if someone compliments you on that, they are saying, you know how to put makeup on. on the other hand, putting a weave on or extensions in is no art or craft for that matter. if someone can so bluntly tell that you've got fake hair on, that means 1. they already know what your real hair look like 2. your hairdresser (or yourself) have done a horrible job with hiding the joints or whatever. makeup is supposed to show, and fake hair isnt. simple.

  • I was at the at the Mac counter and saw one of the makeup artist eyes! They were very amazing. I complimented her and ended up getting my eyes done the very same way and purchased some lashes too!! (lol) I think if you take the time to put the makeup on then you would really enjoy people complimenting it.

  • you are so beautiful and i love your makeup! I'm def subscribing now=)

  • Okay, I think people are totally not getting the point how to pay a complement. This is my own personal opinion. You do not walk up to someone and say, "I like your weave". Why would you say that? It seems like ignorance in my opinion. If they offer to you the fact that it's a wig, then okay. But to say that and you do not know them is rude! Someone you come in contact in the street is not a FRIEND. Therefore you need to approach them differently. Say that to a friend, not a stranger!

  • @DebriahPatterson EXACTLY!!!!

  • @bella101ify I'm glad you agree with me, some people just dont know how to pay a complement.

  • you are so funny and animated! hahaha! love your videos!

  • I'm the reverse of you. My hair is long and I'm a black latina. So I get the "Is it a weave?" question. And, I find it insulting. Also I am over 50 and look twenty years younger, no joke. My skin is near flawless, except for two dark but fading spot. I walk around with no makeup on. I get comments about not looking my age and having flawless, poreless skin. That's a compliment to me.

  • hahahaha woww i love you :]

  • I always compliment people's weaves cuz if it looks good then it looks good! Many times when I think it's a weave it IS a weave. So what? Maybe it's different in the UK. Here, if one girl says to another "I like your hair.." the other will say "Thanks.. it's a weave.." Ain't no biggy. & I suspect if you didn't care that much about your hair you would be walking around bald because you wouldn't take care of it or want it to look good lol. You put the weave in because it looks good, no?

  • @kweencessX I wear hair extensions for the sake of convenience. My natural hair is healthy and looks good too, but if I had three hours a day to do it, I would! I cannot, so this is what works for me, and a lot of other women :) Nobody said anything about hiding the fact that I'm wearing extensions, the point is nobody likes being put on blast, period. there's a way to go about complimenting someone, and there's a time and a place for all that.

  • @kweencessX Then allow the person to tell you it is a weave because not everyone will tell you plus it is safe to say your hair looks great! :)

  • I don't get it. If it is a weave, and you yourself know it's a weave, and another female says they like your weave, what's rude about that? They probably compliment you because they want to achieve the same look. Only stupid people will automatically assume just because you have a weave your hair won't grow. And so what if your hair doesn't grow to be the length of the weave? Isn't that purpose served as far as getting a weave in your hair? Why are you so sensitive about it?

  • @kweencessX if you don't understand it then maybe you shouldn't try to, sounds like you completely missed the point I was trying to make in the video, maybe you should watch it one more time :)

  • @lilpumpkinpie05

No, I am trying to understand, I really want to understand because right now it seems kind of dumb to me. And I don't even mean that in a disrespectful way, I respect your opinion/feelings but my feelings are about it are as such. I didn't miss the point of the video, I am not stupid so please don't patronise me. Just because I share my opinion I'm stupid? Anyway, we will agree to disagree. Pce.

  • @kweencessX WHOA Oh no, don't put words in my mouth girl! Once again, in one ear and out the other lol if you don't agree with me, you really don't have to, it's OKAY I'm not offended! obviously I wasn't the only person who felt this way (check the comments down below from this video and the actual weave video) you're entitled to yours but I don't understand what you're trying to do? I believe what I believe, as do you. No need to jump the gun! Name calling not needed...

  • @kweencessX well there must be alot of stupid popl in th world, becuz most ppl i com across always say stuff like, well what wrong with your real hair?or assume ur baldheaded

  • @kweencessX yes ppl who ask if it's a weave obviously are asking in tht way b/c they want 2 achieve tht same look-however i know plenty of white ppl who wear weaves as well & are never asked tht question-its a stereotype tht black women NEED weaves so if their is long they assume so, which isn't always the case. I think ppl have awful manners to immediately assume so & then ask. if u like my hair say so, & if i choose to i will let u know how it was done. its not a compliment when u are nosey

  • You look so beautiful!! Wanted to ask you wats your lipgloss/stick colour its so beautiful i would love to get one! Video is fab..You tell them girl!! keep doin wat yur doin :) xx

  • i think the best compliment about make would be, "your eyes look beautiful with that color " =)

  • My confusion comes from when I go suuuupppeerr neutral and someone compliments me on my skin saying oooo you don't need to wear makeup your skin looks great without it...So I get confused if I should say thanks or If I should say well....Im actually wearing makeup lol

  • Your videos are great. The reenactment was hilarious! Also, on a serious note, we live amongst people who are/have battled cancer, autoimmune diseases and etc. They are trying to get back to a place of normalcy, so being vindictive or mean when speaking of anything about them, including hair and make up, is inconsiderate and tactless.

Love your vids. Keep up the good work!

  • you are a beautiful lady

  • @Lacehairwigs :) thank you

  • I agree, there is a way to compliment and a way to insult people. Most of the time people know what they are being insulting & they need to quit it. Thanks for the video!

  • @Laina034 mmmhmm, I agree!

  • Funny video...LOVE IT!!!

  • I just want to say first off, that you are an amazing gorgeous and you have some fly darn skills. I love you!!!!! no homo.. =)

  • @MizsKendra aww thank you :)

  • you have really inspired me to experiment with makeup. I have never really worn much because i was scared of making it looking ott but you have shown that it doesnt have to go that way and can still look elegant.

  • @wholemealbread I'm so glad you feel more comfortable, break out of that shell girl, don't be afraid, when done properly makeup can really do some wonders! :)

  • Gurl speak on it!!! LMBO tho love the eye reenactment hehehehe

  • oh! plus i love your eyebrow shape.mine are arched like that.i love the high arch,it is sexy and makes eyes look more almond shape-which i prefer-as oppossed to say julia robert´s more rounded eyebrow.

  • I agree! love the arch !

  • ok! thanks 4 replying! hug!

  • you're welcome!

  • OMG I get that bout my lashes too!! Sooo frustrating ppl soo jealpous jus cause they dont have long thick lashes they assume no one else does! Pet Peeve!!

  • I love the eyelash reenactment.

  • hehehe :)

  • lol... i love the rooster comment... nice vid...

  • hahaha

  • i do have a question regarding "i love your weave" so what if someone does give you the compliment saying "i love your hair" but, they go further on and ask "is it real" is that as rude as saying i love your weave? bc I have had that to happen to me a cpl of times.

  • I really can't determine that for you because you have to decide whether or not their approach is rude or not...

  • yeah I guess you are right. someone saying they like something then turning back and saying is it real I guess I just see the approach of that being rude, no matter what it may be. I think that if you like it it shouldn't matter ya know, but thanks!

  • haha i love your videos! the fake eyelash part cracked me up.

  • lol

  • So I see this lady at my church right? She gives me a hug and goes, "You look so pretty, with your little FAKE eyelashes!" lol I'm like they aren't fake. And she gave me that why are you lying look. I guess the best way to go is to just not assume.

  • omg that is sooooooo rude!

  • LMAO I hate when people ask if something is fake when it's OBVIOUSLY not. I often think people ask questions like that just to be snotty. I'm like YOU KNOW IT'S REAL!

And you kinda remind me of Aaliyah. Like not just your features, but your mannerisms and voice. Like Aaliyah's voice was really calm like yours. (So yeah, I was a huge Aaliyah fan so you can ignore this last part of my comment lol).

  • hehe thanks, not the first time I've heard that one...

  • love your eyes here. what colors???

  • I have a video posted on this look: Amber Lights, Aquadisiac, and Humid

  • So knock it off!! LOL

    you're a new fave....subbing**

  • lol! thanks!

  • nice topic, I hate when people do that. Check out my first videos for my channel when free...hope you enjoy your weekend.

  • thanks hun! have a great weekend yourself

  • hi jackie i want to know how do you keep your hair so long and healthy?

  • washing it and shampoo lol and a proper diet

  • OMG! People do that to me all the time. They ask what kind of hair is that, then I tell them it's not a weave n they don't believe me. They've actually argued w/me about it! I believe it's bcz I'm dark skinned. If I were light, I don't even think they would question it, sad. Wake up people! Skin color and hair are not related whatsoever. I also get those who ask if I'm mixed once they discover the hair is real. These are black folks asking me this!!! SMH. Btw girl, YOUR lashes are beautiful :)

  • thank you so much hun

  • oh yeah i feel you on this one people tend to compliment about my eyes and ohhhh people are rude!!lol who cares whether they are fake or real if u like it you like it lol

  • exactly!

  • I was wondering what is your MAC foundation color? I wanted to order MAC foundation but I have to order online because I'm stationed overseas...advise

  • I'm wearing NW45

  • Bravo and two snaps up! I agree! If it's supposed to look natural and someone is complimenting it asif it's fake it's not a compliment. No if's and's and but's about it! It's really them envying what it looks like and trying to call you out. I mean for real, What if someone was a cancer survivor and someone was asking them are they wearing a lace wig... or oh your hair is so pretty where did you buy it... People don't think about stuff like that... how that might make them feel or what's "RUDE"!

  • wow, I never even thought of it that way (the cancer patient example) and yes you're right. And even if that person can tell it's a wig that doesn't mean they have to point it out to everyone else. Soo rude!

  • okay so I just found your videos and I'm very curious. once u start working for M.A.C will you still be able to do videos

  • I'm not sure what you're referring to? Yes I will still be able to do videos, my manager's are already aware that I do this now

  • amen. THE TRUTH!! thank u!

  • haha you're welcome!

  • like when someone says "your hair looks like a wig". even when it's not a wig and never say it so full or healthy is wrong. and rude and it's straight hateration. people can't help themselves. it's annoying, but folks are just tacky.

  • it is VERY tacky!

  • Whenever i hear ppl talk about makeup its always "Makeup makes u look old!" or "People makes u look cakey" or "Why would u wear makeup?"

Me personally i think ppl say that stuff because either the person wearing it didn't do such a great job at it or simply because they don't understand how to wear it. Most ppl would go to the store pick up the first thing they see, smear it on they face and think its okay? and its not but when ppl see that they automatically feel like oh no! makeup is bad!

  • i meant "Makeup makes u look cakey" lol my bad

  • makeup is designed to enhance, if your makeup makes YOU look old, then YOU'RE doing something wrong! lmao! because my makeup looks flawless 24/7, or I won't wear it at all! lmao!

  • exactly! I mean i might not wear foundation but when i do i used tinted moisturizer and set it with powder and it looks flawless not cakey and sure don't look old! lmao

  • lol whoever says stuff like that is just jealous because they don't wear it right! like I said, if you look bad WITH makeup on, then there's a problem

  • you are really pretty! can you tell me what color is on your lips?

  • aww thank you, I think I was wearing Mad Cap

  • or "WHO DID UR LASHES" or "WHERE U GET UR LASHES FROM" like WTF!!! I feel u on that! Whatever happened to "You're beautiful !"

  • lol thank you! the weird thing is, people actually do get their lashes done now a days, I think they're like eyelash extensions? I knew this girl who used to do them. And I mean, that's her thing, but don't assume mine are done though!

  • Love you video!! How is working at MAC? Exciting yet?

  • i start next week :)

  • You tell them girl!!!! haha

I love your vlogs... I def. agree with you... Makeup does not have a negative stigma attached to it, whereas wigs, weaves, or extentions do...

  • it's good to be able to network with intelligent people!

  • oooohhhh so true i hate when people do that , either it's the make up , the hair , like why do you have to point out that i'm not at my "natural" state , i hate it so bad , it's so indiscreet and it really makes people look like they have no manners

  • yes it is!! so rude...

  • If someone likes your lashes they could just asked how you do them. I did many times lol

  • hehe yeah, I understand people are curious, but it pisses me off when people just assume they are fake

  • Great video, if I noticed someone with nice makeup. I just always said "You're really pretty". Saying I like your makeup sounds weird & it is rude too. I remember in HS one of the counselors had makeup 1 day & someone said. "Hey nice makeup today Ms. Ross". She kinda felt embarrassed & everyone looked at her.

I hate backhanded compliments. But I know how you feel about your eyelashes. Some people think if they believe its fake, then it is, even if you tell them not. lol

  • that happens all the time. with my hair and with my cousins eye color. as if we can't have green eyes because we are nigerian or like long hair. i wear a weave but that doesn't mean im trying to hide..

  • Go naija girl :) you tell em!

  • LOL....I love you girl!

When you coming back to Cali? You owe me a night out!

  • UUGGGGGH IN 2015!! lmao

  • I have long lashes also..but thank God I have never gotten that negative comment...so far!!

  • good for you girlie :) lol

  • i agree completely yet i wouldnt mind if someone phrased the whole eyelash deal in a different way, like "are those your natural eyelashes?" that way the connotation is towards them being real, while the other way around expects them to be fake

i would take it as a compliment unless, like you said, they fought me on the truthfulness of my answer

  • lol exactly! I don't mind when people ask, it's when they assume they're fake, like I'm lying that annoys me....

  • dw... im right there with you

btw thanks for the videos, I really enjoy watching them! <3

  • thank you!

  • I love it, you are funny

  • ha!

  • Ha. I think I did ask you if your eyelashes were real...but I believe you. They're gorgeous.

  • Well there's a huge difference between

    "are your eyelashes real?"

    and

    "those eyelashes are fake right?"

    see the difference? lol

  • Looks like I got my answer and they are all pretty consistent.....i keep reading people running there fingers thru others hair when they find out its real...yeah that is rude......until next time...peace

  • Thanks for the great topic!

  • I spend a lot of damn money and time on my makeup,so please ,say you like my makeup! lol. it isnt offensive at all.

  • lol! I know right!

  • there is a difference between honesty ( people complimenting on something as they see it ...example the makeup) and someone trying hard to prove u dont have something real one...the question is how do u differentiate and react to someone who honestly does not know they are rude ...OR u classify everyone that compliments u and it comes out wrong to u as outright rude.... dont get me wrong i totally agree with u on this topic but i heard a new one today that got me cracking....

  • you can tell when someone is trying to be rude. it's not what you say, it's HOW you say it. to the ones that "don't know any better" just tell them that's not ok!

  • Thanks for this video, i guess one cannot be an island and we live to learn every blessed day, thumbs for enlightening and sharing cos before now honestly, i never knew a word could or would make a difference even if i reallly really like something on someone, so thanks once again and pls keep doing wat ur doing cos its great.

  • yes, you always have to be careful what you say. one word can mean a HUGE difference between a compliment, and an insult!

  • you are so right....i always had a lot of hair...and i'm a hair stylist...and i have people come up to me and put their hands in my hair after i tell them it's mind...that is sooo rude...sometimes i want to slap the hell out of them

  • lol! you should kindly tell them how you feel and watch the expression on their face

  • i hate when gurls that doesn't wear makeup bash gurls that do they quickly assume that we are tryin 2 hide somethin yes no one is perfect but some gurls like 2 cover up there flaws, either way we are all beautiful

  • Yeah I hate that too. They're like LOOK AT ME I'M ALL NATURAL. OK?! And your point is?!? lol!

  • LMAO im not going to lie i HAVE done that before, but it was only to liek teachers an people @ school, an i ave not seen your video becuase i am a *NEW* subscriber but i will be sure to hit that up, but yeah i would NEVER do that to someone i don know, i would say "i love your hair" but yeah it's kinda liek i liek to make people laugh/smile an people did get a kick out of the fact that i said that, an the person directed to jus thanked me an smiled liek it wasn't a problem

  • I feel u on this girl. In highschool I wore braids 4 2 years straight & every1 just assumed I was baldheaded. So senior year when I took the braids out & relaxed my hair, it was past my shoulders. people were automatically like "girl that weave is hot!" "where u get that weave from its nice" I was like, um...yeah this is my hair. Nobody believed me & I didn't care. What really got me was the heffa that put her hands all in my head to prove me wrong. Sum people r just RUDE.

  • WOOOOOOW!!! I hated high school!! lol

  • you speak the truth!! People need to know this because sooo many people are completely wreckless with the mouth... and the sad thing is some people dont even kno

  • I KNOW! Smh

  • lol....yes they are...no its not...that was too funny. i had someone ask me if i was wearing make up once, back in my highschool days. i told them no, they didnt believe me and actually took there hand and rubbed my face. i was in total shock! she was'nt a stranger, so the animal in me didnt cause me to break her hand, but i felt kinda violated and voiced my opinion to her....very bluntly might i add...

  • I totally understand what you're saying. I often get "Your weave is hot" and when I tell them its my hair and not a weave then they want to put their hand in my hair to feel if I'm wearing tracks. I have hair down my back so I guess that's why they think its a weave. Never worn weave by the way. Nothing is wrong with wearing it because it does look nice on some, but my hair is real.

  • i know what you mean. when i say my hair is real, people run their hands through my hair to try and feel any tracks all the time too! its really annoying and offensive.

  • that's RUDE! don't touch me!! lol that's what I would say, well if it's my friend I won't care lol but random strangers do not have that priviledge

  • WOW ! You're weave is nice, smh, that's offensive

  • I completely understand....I hate when ppl walk up to me and say "What foundation are you wearing?" I guess it kinda goes with the "Weave" incident you were talking about....just my opinion....

  • I totally agree with you. I've never had someone say something like that to me but it is kind of awkward

  • Girl u always getting it right because people can be rude sometimes and its no even called for I loved your video about the hair too :-)

  • thanks girlie :)

  • AMEN! ive been asked if my lashes are fake and i say no but when im actually wearking indiviual false lashes people think they are real. wtf is wrong with ppl! Anywho oyu are wrong about having a flawless face because lately i have been breaking out and having uneven skin and it takes longer to apply makeup, whereas before when i had great skin i would sometimes skip foundation all together!

  • Ok, I'm not exactly tracking what you mean? lol the point I was trying to make is foundation looks waaay better when you don't have any breakouts, and it's in good condition, and often times people can tell that your skin looks good, even underneath your makeup

  • love ur eye makeup

  • thank you, this tutorial is coming soon :)

  • lol "i like ur face" thats funny

  • Yeah!!! ILY!!!! u r so sweet and truthful about this etiquette matter! IT NEEDS TO BE ADRESSED!

  • its pretty hard to compliment these days,

usually i'll say ur skin looks flawless when its a more natural look, BUT when someone does a nice smoky look or bold lip...i will say your makeup is gorgeous.

(LOL u are really funny though!)

  • thank you hun :) and yeah you right, but I don't think it's hard to compliment, I just think people don't think before they say things. a little common sense will go a long way!

  • lol thank you!! and thank you for watching :)
