what is that nail shape called? i always go to nail places and want my nails to look like this and they can't ever get it. I like that the pink goes all the way down the side!!!
@amsepsey Are you talking of the shape of the free edge or the way the acrylic was applied? If the latter, I personally describe it as a two-tone glitter fade, the glitter being at the smile line. Have you tried finding a picture and taking it in with you?
@MisColour the way the colored acrylic is applied! the smile line is a good way to explain it! I like how it arches so much its not just a straight line. Ya i took a pic on my cell phone and showed them but the girl didnt' understand what i wanted.
@amsepsey If the nail tech didn't understand(which I find a little surprising)- I would do some research for different nail salons in your area, walk in, picture in hand, and ask them if they will apply the acrylic in that way. I would also bring in a picture of the acrylic application in progress( 2:04 is a good point). Try saying- french manicure acrylic set with a coloured free edge/tip and a glitter acrylic accent at the smile line fading into the tip colour(and stress crisp smile line).
@Thecoolpinkprincess2 acrylic paint can be removed with water thats why its easy to paint with so if you make a mistake, you can wipe it off and start again ;)
i have just have a quick question. i have started doing nails on myself.... but here is my problem, when i file them smooth... well my perception of smooth. everything at this point goes great except that when i apply the top coat to finish the nail. once the top coat is dry i can see the file lines and buffer lines on the acrylic. i'm not use the UV light yet but... i would love to know how to do nails with out those file lines or scratches?
@Thecoolpinkprincess2 It is not permanent. It is water based so if placed without a top coat it is removed with water. So yes it can be removed with polish remover!
Hey, i noticed you apply gel sealer over your nails at the end. Is that a special kind of acrylic (gel) or is it just normal acrylic? Im a bit confused..
how did you learn to do this? and was it hard your first couple times doing your own nails? what happens if you didnt cure it would it just be teemporarily?
I am a nail tech & just have to say you should really get paid for your work! You are awesome, I never get to do nail art on anyone. I only have clients that are older and want just acrylic overlay and polish.
@Riahgrl86 put yourself out there. start doing wicked stuff on your own nails or find a few guinea pigs you know we LOVE free stuff. Best advertising ever.
All i can say is good work keep it up, I just start doing my nails on my own and i am learning so much for watching your channels. If you can give me some pointers on sculpting the smile line when doing pink and white and i am having problem with lifting by the cuticles. thank you Please give some advise
i love your nails also i watch your videos all the time and they look ten times better than the salons... ive always wanted to do nails and u are so my inspiration!!
how long do the carbide bits usually last? I want to buy one to file off my gel sealer to do fills instead of clipping and soaking off my nails everytime. I looked around a little bit and they're kind of expensive but I can justify paying that if they last a long time. Any recommendations?
I am so grateful that you have taken the time to upload these wonderful tutorials - I have always wanted to learn to do my own nails, and have been so down because I just cant afford to attend a class to learn how to do them myself. I have watched just about all of your tutorials and now I'm well on the way to getting it right myself, which wouldn't have happened if I couldn't see how it was done! Your designs are beautiful and a true inspiration, please don't stop uploading them!
