i just uploaded a video of an oil painting that took me 5 months to finish.
i would like to get some feedback on it. so if everyone that reads this could check it out and let me know what you think it would help me out! the video is called -- monumental oil painting- from start to finish. thanks everyone!

Why WRBY do u paint an under coat of orange color if you are painting over it with a complete opposite color that doesnt allow the orange color to show through
@pumpedpittbull It's the contrast of warm and cool colors. the warm sienna underpainting shows through the cooler greys creating a tension in surface. Same effect can be achieved using contrasting colors. It's a method found in any master painting and a method to capturing what the eye see's or doesn't see.
@pumpedpittbull Cause when you put opposite colors together you create a "colored grey", which is more fresh/pure when you put them together directely on the surface (not mixing them on the painting palette). I hope I'm right but this is what my art teacher told me.
isn't that kind of unrelated? and distant... good painting... i can't really say more because im not very artistic, and it's condescending to talk about a piece of art that is so far out of my league.
beautiful work, and beautiful hands. I just kept watching them get more and more defined and I soon couldn't tell the difference between your hands and hers. A true artist at work.
Great art!!! love the pallete.
anyway wat the song called in 2.00? its so artistic voice.
i will grateful thank you if someone give me the name of the song.

Great use of the old masters techniques! And a beautiful subject.

I thought the orange was just a turpentine wash allowing easier application of the oil paint to be smoother onto the canvas.

i think some orange at the back, and keeping 4 nails, would be beautiful, so you can see all the lays of paint...
