(1) I'm almost 33. I too am an American Kim Wilde fan. I'll never forget the time I was in Spencer's at the mall when I was almost 15. I was about to leave the store until this incredible song came on. So stayed and listened to it. The music was incredible and the voice was the best singing voice I ever heard! The song was Kids In America. It absolutely blew me away!...
(2) I do remember You Keep Me Hanging On before that in in elementary school and liked it back then. Didn't know it was the same artist until a few years later after the mall experience. It took me a few years to learn who sang Kids In America. Then from there started discovering her other songs. The rest is history.
oooooooooooooh " you came " my favorite hit of all time , how come it was not a # 1 in the uk atleast , the 80's for me is all about this song which made me love english music and songs...the video was so ahead of its time...and she looks amazing....i wish the wilde days come back.

@sugarmommy79 I'm in California. Kim was kind of a 1-hit wonder in the US, with her remake of The Supremes' "You Keep Me Hangin' On". "Kids In America", which came out 7 years earlier, wasn't that big of a hit, although that was probably the only other song for which Kim was known in the US. Too bad, since she's such a great talent!
I remember the 1980s TV show Knight Rider where Michael Knight played the Kim Wilde music video "The Second Time". In America, we call the title another name. Also "You Came" ranked 41 in here but it wasn't that big of a hit. I like it anyway! It's such a shame that the most powerful and wealthy country on earth never heard of Kim! I am only 23 years old. I was borned the year where Kim's album "Close" was released! LOL!

Also another song from the album "Say You Really Want Me" ranked higher in here. In the album "Love Moves" in 1990, Kim's voice sounded more mature. The song from "Love Moves" "I Can't Get Enough (Of Your Love)" is best! She filmed the music video "Time" in Italy. "World In Perfect Harmony" is good!
(3) Why she's so underrated in America is beyond me. Makes no sense to me at all. But American Kim Wilde fans do exist.

in the super song "You Came." Maybe, that's why this outstanding song is so perfect and she always looks so gracile.
