  • Hello sir i like your videos...

  • Sandy Bridge/Ivy Bridge vs Gulftown if price didn't matter which is the fastest and if price did matter would you still recomend the faster one?

  • @giorgosntoulos2 I would wait for Ivybridge. If performance is your primary goal. I have a 980x myself and I like it a lot, I also like the more detailed control you can get with X58. (Also for me I tend to run intensive SLI and Crossfire configs so the 16 PCIE lane on die limit with sandybridge puts it right out the picture. 2 6990s, a sound card and hopefully the PCIE mega high speed SSD in future. Even using a work around via the third party chips on the motherboard its not feasible..

  • @SymonDymond thanks

  • Geesh I only have an i2 quad core cpu Q660 2.40Ghz

  • OK READY TO BUY Intel Core i7 980X Extreme 6 Core Gulftown RACK DESKTOP WITH THE BEST CLEAN COOLING SYSTEM best mother boatd max memory i have a mac pro 12 core so now ready to kick in a new pc

  • I have a challenge for you guys ! :(

    Please help me !

I don´t know why,but something´s wrong with my PC... MY CPU VOLTAGE READS 1,65 V ! How could this be possible ? TEMPERATURES ARE GOING ULTRA HIGH.... :( If no one helps me,in a week or so,with this VOLTAGE,my CPU will die....WHAT´S WRONG?WHERE´S THE PROBLEM? PLEASE HELP GUYS !

    PLEASE HELP ! HELP !!! Is an I7 860,with NO OC(stock).

  • Woulda been funny if he dropped it.........

  • Then tomorrow there will be an even a faster processor. Featuring 29 to 400 cache memory and ass holes like you will tell us it is the greatest thing since the invention of the telephone... Once we purchase it within six months the price will drop then afterword’s we will sell it back eBay. At a 50% or less loss profits… We are all technologies suckers do not fall into this trap wait on a reasonable price unless you are Donald Trump …

  • Ok let me make this easier for everyone here whether or not you should buy this product... here's a bit of statistics... AMD's best 1090T is 1/5 of Intel 980X's price and 3-4/5 of Intel 980X's performance when it comes to gaming at least. I think the choice is quite obvious. Some of you may call me an AMD fan boy but am not. I am an impartial viewer and in fact, I prefer Intel myself, because they make chips with better quality and stability. But I think AMD has won this time.

  • wish there was something called cpu sli

  • @PCGamerOfToday Da herp derp you can have two CPU on one motherboard.

  • @OutlawLovesNewVegas i know but the mobos are huge and very expensive

  • Say what you like about AMD's offerings, I'm not entirely convinced that an extra $600-$700 for Intel's equivalent chips is worth it.

I'm a freelance designer so I need as much bang for my buck as I can get, I can ALMOST build two Phenom based boxes for the price of this CPU, no contest really.

Using backburner or real-clustering that gives me 12 cores to render with.

I'm a big proponent of Intel, but I really dont believe this is going to bring me any advantage over AMDs offerings for my usage.

  • AMD Black Edition - AMD Phenom II X6 3.3 GHz Processor

    under $400

I never liked AMD much until i watched a review on that processor.

  • Ok, so 300% the price of a 920 for a 30% increase in performance. That's about $20 for each 1%. Doesn't sound like a great deal to me.

  • please help me to choose the best processor i7 990x or i7 2600k. budget doesnt matter. i will play hardcore games and render 3d projects.

  • oh shit man thats some nice cpu i wanna see u overlock that man.. oh shit!

  • That's the only problem: it costs too much. shave $400 off it and i may very well consider it for my next rig

  • Gigabyte beat Asus in every test.

very good because i hate Asus.

  • AMD PHENOM II X6 VS INTEL CORE I7 980X

    3.33GHZ AND TURBO 3.6GHZ?

  • @bobctx dude the i7 2600k came out, it's as fast as the 980x, which is TWICE as fast as the x6, clock speed don't matter

  • No i7 970 review

  • 999$ has been the price of all of intels top cpu's over the years, back in 2003-04 a quad core would have cost 999$. That and by this point the cpu's will run at the fastest speed possible, the addition of extra cores is to conpensate for lack of speed which as far as I know not many Amd cpu's will go past 4.5ghz without failing.

  • I touth AMD had first six core cpu -.-

  • @gazzxr I gum AMD had triple cores at this point in time.. Their six core came after intels.

  • @Cactaceae33 , Wikipedia , AMD Bulldozer cores coming out soon ( 8 cores CPU ) , and Intel will get 8 core CPU latter , after AMD ... btw AMD Bulldozer is building platform for upcoming AMD CPU's wich will be better & cheaper than Intel i7 , thus wiping Intel of market until they come up with something new.

  • @gazzxr I think intel just came out with something new - their 3D transistors, which they announced yesterday.

Oh and I also read that AMD is scrambling to develop their own :P

  • 999 bucks? phew... so nice, i couldn't handle to pay 1000 $

  • When it comes to multi tasking more cores and threads are better but in gaming it does not do much good.

  • Multi threading just means you can multi task more but does not help when playing games. Same thing with cores. Only the processor speed and what kind of video card you have will determine better gaming performance.

  • @blarson12 For GTA IV, i7 980X will make big difference

  • @george3dmax Well for any game that has some or alot of micro management in it, the extra threads will help and the extra cores will help with the effects and physics. Games in the future will slowly start using cores and threads for more and more things in a game with the graphics being the main one, but for now only some things in a game will be affected by the extra cores and threads. When in doubt go for the PC with more threads and cores.

  • Why are they making tiny increases in processors? There was the single core, then the two core, then the three core? Why wasn't it the four core? The next one should be the 8 core, not the 6 core. I'm waiting for the 32 core so that they can dedicate 8 of the cores for video processing. That should make for some dynamite graphics.

  • @hammertime346 Its like with anything. They SLOWLY introduce tech advancements in order to maximise their profits. Its no use introducing the ultimate PC thats worth $1,000,000 because no one will buy it except for the ultra rich. Instead introduce reasonaly priced PCs over time that will eventually add up to $1,000,000 in revenue. The premiss is that they will make more money over time than all at once.

  • meh. Not much difference in scale.

Ii am willing wait and i do know there will be an improved model which is better than this 980X.

...not much different on turbo mode. I would like to have it but I not willing to pay for it. I have regrets before.

  • I would love putting this into my laptop if i knew how :)

  • @disgorgeengorge u can't dumbass

  • @DayLight95 No one is asking you.

  • @disgorgeengorge lol if only we could man. :)

  • 3.33 GHz to 3.6 GHz is an increase of almost nothing!

  • The new i7 2600k, equivalent to the 980x at $320, the ex-price of AMD's Phenom II X6 1090T which is brought down to it's knees by the 980x.

    AMD,

    RiP

  • And what game is going to be able to use all that processing power seeing that most games on the market today are xbox360 ports?

  • great review and sick chip im on the 920, but want this one now

  • nice review =) man that cpu is a monster xD

  • you guys kind of over exaggerate this product. What you fail to understand is that its actually 2 times faster than an i7 920. And i mean EXACTLY 2 TIMES FASTER.

this i7 980 extreme isnt "a little" faster, its 2 times faster as most new cpus that come out are. AMD or Intel usually make new cpus but are only a bit faster than the previous ones. Thats not the case here.

thus you end up with this price, which i think sucks. $700 is reasonable though...

  • FUCK INTEL WE LOVE COMPUTER BUT WE ARE NOT IDIOT!!!

  • so many cores are a waste of money we wont even use that many cores

  • @gameman43 Exactly but they use it as a selling point. Same for HT. Who the hell is going to run 8 or 12 applications at once? Maybe 2 or 3.

  • £763.74 inc VAT at overclockers

  • blink damn you! BLINK!

  • @danthemanzizzle LOL i didn't notice that ha ha ha ha

  • i7-hex-core is def impressive. intel is the leader in the cpu industry, so basically their top-notch chip is the best in the world - and they know it. on the marketing side, they will always price their top-notch chip at 1 grand. tech industry is in constant motion, best off sticking with an $300 i7-quad-core for now, and watch the 6-core decrease in price and they'll name a 12-physical-core chip at 1 grand as their "top notch chip" again. all marketing tricks.

  • you only need this if your gonna be running multiple programs at the same time. like programming or bruteforce.

  • @yoimjo11 even then really not a necessity. You only really need this if you are an enthusiast with to much money.

  • isnt the 970 the exact same thing but without a unlocked multiplier

  • Go for the basic I7 like the 920 or 930 and a basic card from Nvidia. Then spend that saved money on water cooling and a big power supply. For gamers you won't be disappointed. See my videos for water cooling tips.

  • @cfcreative1

i7-950 is about $295 right now, that could be really good.

    Games don't use 6 cores.

  • @Usul573 No but, they will in the future,.

  • @HardstyleMusicHQ

It's difficult to imagine a game seriously using and recommending a six core processor, how much processing does a game need? But then again, a lot more six and eight core processors are coming, better prices also, and everytime we say something is impossible or will never happen in technology.....

I guess a game like that would run badly on consoles then? It's also tough since games keep getting more expensive and releasing games on consoles helps them make enough money.

  • Big price and after a month of using it you get a big electric bill..fuck'N A!

  • @01sean i ment 480GTX OC sli ^^ but yeh il buy it realy soon ^^

  • 2 xeon 5680's on a dual cpu MB like the sr2 makes 24 cores :3

  • I'd rather get me a months supply of prostitutes.

  • Ehmm shud i buy 980x yeh its fucking expensive like a new pc but wth so shud i buy six core 980x or 975 quad , im where confused their about the same price and my rig is going to be asus rampage 3, evga geforce gtx 280 and im going to buy a new one to christmas for sli, 12gb RAM , what do u Think?

  • $999? ok here i come amd....

  • Comment removed

  • is that a microwave behind that guy?

  • hi please tell me erm which one i should buy motherboard for core i7 980x

    1) Asus Rampage 3 or 2) Gigabyte x58a-ud7 Which one is more powerfull in overclock. A) ______?

  • Who cares!! A i7 980x CPU that price $999 will end up to $ 200-100 in 2020's (maybe). Besides, it is complete waste of money if you not using it for rendering heavy graphics and just only do simple Office Word programs.

  • I can afford it!!! becuase my work income 1,300pound just every 1 week!!! load money but my lever 3 and high.. i cant tell u my jobs !!! :P i see some peopel cant afford it core i7 980x becuase they are too lazy work, plub, girl, bah bahbah that is really bored looool i am just home to work then work to home that it no girl no plub no club. then everyday work i got some peep load money like my eyes into barin pop going out shopping ! crazy stuff i love it.

  • i going get Intel i7-980X Core i7 Extreme Edition Six Core Processor 3.33GHz ... :D :P i going get them be my !

  • Is it great? Sure. It just has an abysmal price/performance ratio. Not to mention that most normal users won't even benefit from having more threads available to them. It's a very niche product.

Intel makes lovely chips though. I'm running a 930@4Ghz and it's performing beautifully.

  • Fucking awesome!!:O It costs 1 100 € in Slovakia... amazing... :)

  • If I had the money I would get, 4 at quad sli GTX 480's with intel core i7 980x extreme ed, with 8gb mem 1tb harddrive, 24in tv screen, 3d vision by nvidia, errmm in a alienware area 51 desktop hardcase, with liquid cooling.

Intel should be sooo rich by now =D

  • @TheHellz0r instead of the 1tb hard drive you should get a solid state drive

  • @borat4421 Can yu tell me wats a solid state drive and how its better?

  • @TheHellz0r it is a drive in which you store your data but it is a lot faster than hard drive but they aren't cheap

  • Чтото жаба давит штуку баксов за проц выбрасывать...

  • something I just realized and found quite funny; The i7 975X Extreme (the 4 core bloomfield i7) cost almost the exact same as the i7 980X Extreme. If you're going to spend that much money on a cpu (and there are legit reasons, such as an investment in a video editing rig) you might as well go with the 980X. it DOES offer 20-40% performance increases (from what I've seen) over applications that are optimized for multi threading. I still can't see spending that much, but to each his own.

  • lol the turbo boost frequence is weird... i got the i7 720qm and normally it has 1,6ghz and it can boost one core to 2,8ghz and the 980x can also boost only 1 core to 3,6ghz i think. i wonder when they will release some complete new processors because IBM already made some prototype which i not based on silicium and had 100ghz really interesting

  • To be honest. I do not think that Intel wanted this processor sold. I mean, my future pc configuration costs a bit lower than that cpu. And it has 8 gb of ddr3, amd phenom II x6 1055T and one EVGA GTS 250 800 gb wd caviar green 64 mb buffer 800 gb, ga-ma785gt-ud3h.

And seriously, that pc is pretty good, costs lower than a cpu, which I will never buy.

Also the turbo feature is useless in my opinion, because most of us and I mean gamers and people with a bit of experience, will overclock it.

  • I have bought one :D

  • it's $1057.81

  • im not sure, but i think amd released at the same time with their 6 core as well, and its about 200 bucks cheaper too

  • Totally to much money stick with an overclocked I7

  • Good demo mate, thanks for sharing.

  • You have a microwave and 'oust' in you study?... What does that say about your personal hygiene? Lol.

I joke man. You are my GOD. If i need info on anything, I go strait to your channel. If I only knew what all these numbers and letters meant. What is a 6 core 3.33ghz? Does that mean it does 3.33ghz x 6? So it gives out 20ghz in total?

  • $999 it better be able to jack me off. cook me food and do my laundry.

  • @iwhitecastle Maybe if you would get a real job instead of busting your hump at Whitecastle's you wouldn't be bitching about the price. Intel gave you two more cores and left the price the SAME as the X-Edition before it. What do you want, blood? That's all I hear from you under achievers, how the world owes you a living. No wonder America is fast becoming a nation of weak cry babies. Get off your lazy ass and do something for a change Johnny burger flipper.

  • @HoodaThunket

its a joke. calm down dont kill yourself now. am i suppose to be offended cause your making whitecastle jokes. : /

wtf are you talking about. ahhahah. i dont give a fuck about america. and please 999 aint shit. your probably a fuckin geek lookin ass bitch. that dont ever get pussy.

  • @iwhitecastle what do you think of this prcessor vs the Intell 6 Core ?? .AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX for $229 on new egg ?

  • @Maxantium

fan boy of intel not amd. :P

  • @iwhitecastle Now Bulldozer is coming the 980x price is coming down.

  • i thought it was cheap but when i heard $999,i was shocked!!!

  • not impressed its a moneymaking product for intel for the ones that thinks that this is alot faster than a i7 920 not true just not the extra 700euro worth

  • I have a AMD AM3 build PC and if I wanted I could get the AMD Six Core black edition CPU for only $295.00 + free shipping. "All right, giggidy-giggidy-giggidy!"

  • @2point6x4

and u really think intels 6core processor is the same as AMD's 6core processor?

  • @AndyFunny22 No they are not the same, the intel 980X 6core has more performance and cost three times as much as the AMD 1090T 6core processor.

I mostly play games on my PC and my AMD daul core Phenom II X2 processor runs games real good, but I'm thinking of getting the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz for $179 instead of the new AMD 6core CPU.

  • @2point6x4 yeah price wise the AMD is a great choice and u get a good performance too, but for extreme performance whores intel 980x is the best choice, but as you said it costs fucking much:P

  • @AndyFunny22 If I had the money though I probably would build me a PC with the intel 980x processor.

  • @G1Jetscream

If you're a professional doing very intense CPU using work, yes they're going to buy it, they use their PC every day for very hard work, a few hundred more dollars for a PC that will be faster and fantastic for years.

  • There is a saying for all the people who complains about prizes."If you have to ask, you can't afford" But I think that's a little bit mean. So I like this better "If you want quality, you have to pay for it." Let's face it, Intel's architecture is superior to AMD. AMD fans bubbles are always bursts by this fact all the time. AMD is competitive 'cause of their CPU prizes. TIK! TOK!

  • Not impressed with the turbo option.Should be a hell of a lot faster on turbo mode not much of a difference.Seems like a waste of a selling point. Intel, like stated below lower the price we are not Oprah. IF intel really wanted to sell this cpu the price would be lower so others can afford it.Besides like also stated you can build an entire system for the price of this cpu

  • @Chilll07 yah because the are more rich guys than the poor fellow.........

  • @Chilll07 what do you think of this prcessor vs the Intell 6 Core ?? .AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX for $229 on new egg ?

  • @Chilll07 Exactly, I agree. But I really think they made the chip with workstations and multi thousand dollar builds in mind.

  • @Chilll07 this cpu is obviously not aimed at the consumer market so why would they cheap out on it so more people can afford it?

  • @Chilll07 Turbo mode tunes it up to a faster yet stable speed, Intel's software and bios can bring it up higher but they recommend getting better cooling, and for the price of a system compared to this cpu it would not even touch the performance this cpu has alone, you would be able to get it up to 5ghz without any problems, heck my core 2 duo ran alot hotter than my new i7 920! the stock cooler on the i7 allowed me to touch 4ghz but could easily get up to 5 with the help of extra cooling.

  • dont get no better this will overclock 5ghz

  • $999, Da fuck..Who does Intel think they are selling their products too? Fucking Oprah? You can build a complete rig with good specs with that money...

  • Wow, $999? No thanks.

  • I'll wait until I can get a hexa-core (or an octa-core) for the same amount i paid for my 920

  • Calling Saga-Core really doesn't sound as good.

  • it can , probably and will play asteroids

  • damn its too small processor

  • Damn! I definitely going to purchase Intel Core i7 980x CPU Processor! Hella fast!

  • @G1Jetscream yes they are, people who need it for business and making movies and rendering HD videos, for example, a video that takes 1 hour on a i7 920 (£200) would take about 5 minutes on this (I'm not exaggerating).

  • queria ter grana pra comprar um 980x

  • i have a 2.0 GHz core 2 duo notebook and i think its enough computing power for me, i dont have to do complex calculation or anything.

  • @G1Jetscream well its takes alot of money to make them, and they deserve to profet of there hard work. i think its takes like 650 bucks to make it what i heard. so you can wait it out till its old school or you can buy it now for 1000 dollars....

  • Would have laughed sooo fucking hard if he dropped it.

  • WOW. I LOVE YOUR MICROWAVE.

  • @myoxfermani its not a microwave its seems like his music player or something.

  • @qazibasit nah I think it's the remote of his TV

  • is that a microwave in your room?

  • @akl3g and yet the Phenom II x6 1090T 6 core processor is $300. Comparing the two, AMD's Hexa-Core processor performs slightly slower but come on about $1000.00 vs $300.00 obviously unless you really want to build the best computer or money is like air to you your going with AMD's 6 core processor.

  • What music is playing in the background?

  • @magister213 yeh someone tell us the name of the song ....plz

  • too damn expensive.. I bought an amd hexacore and a gtx480 gpu instead of this one.. and the phenom x6 blows compare to its price :P

  • Any idea of it being put in a laptop?

  • Yes put it againts a 975X and their is almost no difference.

  • It's an amazing core. Too bad there are better, cheaper alternatives. Such as getting an AMD hexacore, or an Intel quad with hyperthreading, and overclocking it.

  • @HHBones Hehe :P who says you cant overclock this processor? Current AMD processors will not be able to beat this beast due to the hyperthreading.

  • @iggy1008

wait until q1,q2, 2011 buldo 8cores HT amd :) and low price:)

  • @pajo50 Whats the point of a muscle car if the driver does not know how to use it? :P same thing with this lots of performance but AMD processors are not as smart as intel. I talk from experience hehe,

  • ...*gulp*

  • $999 is nothing like what the old old old Eniac would cost. lol

  • wow this processor will be great when ever there is a 384 bit windows

  • Wow the AMD 6-Core doesn't even beat a i7 930

  • wtf are you going to do with this $1000 chip? My OC'd 920 can't be stopped. This is sheer bragging rights

  • want a 6 core? buy a phenom II x6

same or cheaper than a i920

better yet? wait for the end of summer and get the new shiny ones at 8+cores!

  • this thing is 950 euro, and AMD released an 6 core also with the same Ghz. BUT AMD is selling it for 191 euro and Intel for 950 euro.

  • @ThaDK00

    AMD for the win!

    AMD rocks!

And i readed that AMD CPU's would gave more FPS than Intel's CPU's

  • @SutkasFan AMD's are the best for gaming and Intel's are good for professionals making transcoding, 3D models and etc... so if you only play games just buy an AMD

  • @seusgordo

    Don't worry i know that!

So maybe if i will buy a PC it would have a AMD CPU and Radeon GPU!

  • Put that Chip in ur microwave and let see how well it does !!

  • whoever bought this is stupid=D

  • You can readily view reviews of the I7 980x against the new AMD 6 core online. The benchmarks show that Intel completely wipe the floor with AMD.

Only two things stand out for AMD's new chips. Video/rendering, and it's price.

Intel is the king of CPU power, at a cost.

  • nice vid

  • There are also triple-cores.

  • is that a microwave... man u must sleep with ur office or hangout too much that u dont want to got to the kitchen. lol

  • i wish i could mute the music.. It's terrible!!! can't even watch anymore! :S

  • microwave ???

  • Just made a vid on my channel. Put the 980x under a Noctua NH-D14!!!!!!

  • i feel bad for people who dont keep up with stuff and bought a 920 or 950 a few days before this for the same price...

  • You really need to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler. The stock one does just overheat my ram.... :(

  • HP has this cpu on their 190t, it's a little over 2k dollars but depending on how you customize it. the price is a little over my head so I'll stay with 180t =]

  • Build your own.

  • I wouldn't think it'd be worth going hex core now, there's probably no applications that take use of the extra 2 or in some cases the extra 4.

  • Some video games probably do but unless you have a lot of money its not worth it.

  • Just got one. WOOOOH I love it.

  • this cpu is for rich people lol really expensive.

  • Is that a microwave in the back on the left? lol

  • I recently bought an Westmere Gulftown ES Intel Core i7 980X Extreme clocked at 4.5GHz @ 215BCLK on AIR rather than the typical one that is sold at a stock 3.33GHz...

I bought it off of Ebay for only $835 Canadian dollars after S&H

  • I was really excited until he said $999

  • @geniusjas87 Yeah thats pretty damn expensive. Although, when you buy this CPU you also make a monster system. So that price ends probably around $4000-$5000

I guess if you buy this CPU you probably also buy an GTX 480 or ATI 5970..

  • @geniusjas87 LOL!
