Wow this explains so much in my life - I repeated the "sinner's prayer" several times whilst listening to Christian radio but I somehow I just knew that I was unchanged! It's scary how this doctrine is so pervasive :( People don't spend real time counselling those at the "altar", and that's a big part of the problem.
