  • wow!! i wish i could get my cockatiel tweety to do that! but hes already 9 years old and lazy, he just doesnt cooperate :/

  • where can you get a clicker?

    thx and nice videos!!(:

  • Wow....Do not clip a pet bird's wings? My first cockatiel died because i was inexperienced and didn't cut her wings (she flew into a window) my friends bird flew away (from the garage when her dad opened the door for a split second) because she wanted her bird to have the freedom. Birds are pets. Face it. Cats are too and so are dogs! Theres a trick you can see on my channel where your bird can get wing exercise anyways :) Its fine for a pet bird to have freedom but it's not safe.

  • Very smart bird!

  • I love the sound from when it runs

  • Awesome bird! It is funny how ignorant people will come on these channels and try to preach wisdom to experienced bird handlers. Keep on training! My bird doesn't do any "tricks" but she knows recall (call her name and she comes back to me.) She also knows how to open the battery box on my phone, television remote, xbox controller, etc. Birds are great :)

  • lols 1:09 "oops"

  • my tiel looks like a king with a crown and cape when he walks! at least that what it looks like to me.

  • lol the bird just took a shit on the table lol

  • it's cute!! kinda like a small pigeon

  • good

  • thats awesome how did u train him to do that?

  • i finaly got a clicker XD WOOHOO!

  • Cute!!! :)

  • good gop

  • woooow really love yur cockatiel he is soooo funny when he runs LOL...!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

  • j'aime ca c'est kool

  • Lol take a poop before i do it.

  • that's just adorable :)

  • anoying voice

  • XD its like thinking "before i go i'll just go to the bathroom"

  • lol if i tried to do that my cockatiel would look at my hand, jump on my hand and start to plume itself

  • my budgie's name is Kiwi!

  • I like how on his way back... He walks really fast. ^_^

  • waw nice, i love it. i wana traine my birds also. plz can u teach me how did u train ur bird.

  • i had one like that it was angry all the time !!! >:

  • i have owned budgies and a rainbow lorikeet, sadly my lori has passed but my young budgie i have now i have taught him to crawl throughout a cardboard tube and he LOVES doing it he charges through it and waits for me to click and then he gets hypo and like jumps up and down for his treat its hilarious, and he loves riding on tech decks, i would also like to add this budgie i have now was aviary bred

  • are mouth clicks less effective?

    btw cute bird!!!

  • @22rodneymullen22 you can use any form of noise as long its the same noise each time so your bird can make the connection that this noise means 'yay i did it right treat time!' you can make your own clicker if u dont want to buy one for example the metal eclipse mints container u can tap it with something or close the lid to make a clicking noise, you just have to be creative just make sure it produces the same noise every time

  • i love the little noise of the foot steps

  • i own2 cockatiels my male looks just like ur

cockatiel plz reply back!by the way YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cockatiel's are love electric train ride's on HO scale train's....

Yes a big cage for Cockatiel's is a good thing to have for them.

  • The tricks are a game for parrots....the important is not hurt them...a sane trick is a funny game!!!!

  • bad to keep birds as pets? is this not your pet bird? and do you think it is nateral to learn tricks?? no!

i think birds are fine as pets!

  • i used to have a cockatiel that just recently flew away :(

  • @artooooooooooooo You're supposed to clip it's wings.

  • @mbourbon09

yeah and dogs, cats and fish, rabbits rats and the like should also not be kept as pets either mbourbon... you have any of these??

  • Training them induces happiness, they love to learn and can get pretty grouchy if you stop!

  • @LuckyDMI111 LEARNING comes naturally though! And with tricks, they learn. I also helps enrich their lives, because they get excersice when doing tricks, and they PLAY when doing tricks. Nothing BAD about that!

  • @LuckyDMI111 As long as a bird enjoys the training (which mind you most doo!) there is noting wrong, it creates a strong bond between the bird and it's owner. It also helps prevent stress during visits to the vet... Seriously Lucky have you ever had a bird?

  • @LuckyDMI111 well you aren't forcing them, they like it

  • @LuckyDMI111 Training birds to do simple tricks is a mentally stimulating activity for them, keeping them from becoming too bored or inactive. Boredom is a dangerous mental state for birds; they need lots of toys and attention to stay mentally healthy. Training like this also strengthens the bonds of trust and friendship between bird and owner. It would be much crueller to keep a bird in captivity without providing interesting activities and social interactions to keep it happy.

  • @LuckyDMI111 this is a dumb comment. the bird obviously enjoys this and the mental stimulation is really good for it.

  • @LuckyDMI111 Actually. if someone really wants their bird to be happy, then playing games like this will keep them more than happy. It keeps them mentally and physically active and socially bonded with their owner. If they just sit in their cage with nothing to do but chirp merry tunes then what kinda life is that???

  • What happen if my bird doest accept my treats??

  • cockatiels are so gentle.. my lovebird bites...

  • yea i agree. DO NOT buy a cockiteal without a big, and nice habbitat

  • @Gam4Eva My cockatiels cage is almost 3 ft

  • i want to clicker train my bird. he is happy and trusts me but when i try to teach him a trick he just doesnt care. i even try to award him with food but still he doesnt do the trick after trying so hard. what do i do

  • clipping a bird's wings only prives them to do some healthy exercise, and in comparison to birds with non clipped wings, their tendency to obesity increases. If you clip a bird's wings, what is it's purpose in this life if it is unable to fly?

  • I clipped my cockatiel wings only during the first year, for taming. After that, she was allowed to be free in the house all the time. she was only sleeping and eating in her cage.

But 5 month ago, I went out forgeting that she was on my shoulder, and she flew away because of a big noise. I called her and found her during 2 days in trees(she always answer to me),

  • @mbourbon09 I lost my bird exactly the same way you did, but he was carried away by the extreme high winds and I never got him back. Mine was asleep on my hat and I threw a loud aluminum can in the trash out in the garage and the garage door was open. The loud can noise scared it and flew away.

  • Wow! He is amazing! Two thumbs UP!!

  • where do you odopt birds at???

  • So incredibly smart!

  • AMAZING 5 stars!!!

  • haha, you can hear his feet hitting against the tabel xD SO CUTE THE WAY HE RUNS

  • Haha c'est tellement cute ♥

  • i guess it was my sister because she has this bird

  • its funny he runs fast

  • dis vid is funny

  • wtf i didnt write this

  • hey i have a bird which looks just like that

  • why is it better to adopt a bird rather than to buy it?

  • I bought a hand fed baby cockatiel and I disagree that we all should just adopt birds, birds for adoption that I have seen very often have psychological or physical problems, they are biters, pluck their feathers out or are afraid of humans so I ask why is it OUR responsibility to deal with that? If you see a hand fed, tame bird, buy him or her, try to stay away from petco, petsmart and those big chains, because they dont hand feed, go to a breeder, support them instead.

  • she just meant if you BUY one you just give the Breeder money

IF you ADOPT you save the birds life

    that's better

but you don't HAVE to adopt, you can still buy

  • o ok thankyou

and these tricks can be done with any bird right?

    cause im getting a budgie

  • umm can any1 help me?

i wanna use a the click of a pen to clicker train my tiel. do i HAVE to use a real clicker? plz sum1 help me

  • no as long as the pen is loud enough to makes the bird feel as if it has done something good like a real clicker

  • no you dont have to you use a clicker

but the reason people use clickers are because its a loud definite sound that sound i have heard of people clicking with there mouth

  • great video =D

  • ton cockatiel est adorable!:)

  • do u starve her then give her daily meal D: no just kidding coo bird

  • Such a cute cockatiel!!! LOL I LOVE the way he runs back hahahahah

  • amazing.

  • i like it how he runs back lol

  • he poops ite in the beginni lmao

  • where do u buy a clicker

  • they sound funny wen they walk on tables lol

  • cute,i witch that my bird cool to that

  • damn niceee :P good job right there ;) and cute bird ;)

  • What Is Your Cockatiel Colour ??

    is it cinnamon

  • Wow how cool! Just one thing, why do you click twice? Well done, smart bird haha! =)

  • I was wondering the same thing...

Also what language are you speaking to him?

  • She's speaking french

  • aww, how cute!

  • thanks to that person (melanie) i taught my cockatiel to do that amazing trick. Putting "kiyo cockatiel" you'll see some videos of him.

    Thanks for all :D

  • i need to get a clicker!

  • what do i click and where do i get it

  • It's called a 'clicker'. It's used for what's called 'clicker training'. They can be used for dogs, birds, and I've used them for llama training! The instant the animal completes what you want it to do you click, that way in case you drop the treat or whatever the animal regards the 'click' as a 'good boy! well done!' and then you give a treat. Eventually you won't have to always give treats because they'll see the click as a reward but, I always give them a treat anyway!

  • woa a good bird but what did you say to him ????

  • "apporte" it's like "fetch" but in french

  • i like how she/he walks (waddles)lol!

  • I don't own any pets but my dad has a Red Tailed Hawk. and currently he is trying to train him but with the other pets interfering as in getting to close to him and moving too fast for his comfort.

  • hahaha.....he drops the last one its soooo funny

  • Notice how s/he walks slowly to get the toy, and then on the way back, it runs like hell!! I thought that was cute.

  • 0:06 cant teach em not to shit everywhere tho lol

  • Ive noticed that with my cockatiel (Rocky), when i start clicker training he becomes aggressive and angry, all that he wants to do is eat the millet seed that i give him as a treat, hes even bitten my face to get to it :P, is there any reason for this? thanks for reply's!!!

  • In the very very early stages how did you start off training her for this trick??

  • why is he brown? he looks like he's sick, like no one cares about his health or something O_O

  • she is not brown, she a is cinamon cockatiel (light grey), she is in perfect health!

it's maybe the lighting that made an effect...

  • can the girls learn how to talk? beacuse i wanna teach my lutino how to talk and shes a girl

  • only 5% of the female can talk, it's really rare. The males are more vocals.

  • this is how i got my cockatiel my uncle had a friend who worked whith him she had a cockatiel but she couldnt take care of it anymore cuase she got no time she was goin to have him put down or go in a shop but my uncle sed dat my nephew loves birds so i took him home whe his name is charlie

  • i no that males are better at talking than females, but as far as tricks, is there any difference??

  • males are only good for reproduction, they have no intelligence at all. Female gots all the intelligence to be able to learn, like human case !!! ....just joking! they can perform both the same. as long as your bird trust you, he will be able to learn from you.

  • I was just curious what it is that you are feeding him?

as soon as things calm down for me here, I must try this!

    thx for sharing

  • it's regular bugdee seeds white and red milet) She like it a lot because she only get Tropican pellet in her daily food. She always gets 2 spoon of seeds daily.

  • By the way, most of my birds are rescues...

    ;-)

  • OMG that's AMAZING!

  • hmm...where can I get some millet? I try training my cockatiel with Sunflower Seeds, but it doesn't seem to work very well. She doesn't seem all that interested in training, but hopefully he'll/she'll get there

  • at the pet store

  • Thank you!

Do you also feed fruits and vegetables, like apples, pea's and carrots?

My birds also love angel hair pasta..

    ;-)

lovely bird and thanks again for sharing!

    very, very nice!

  • oh yes, she always got all sort of fruit and vegetable everyday, but she does'nt eat them very often. She like better rice, pasta, cherios, salmon, corn... she gets a little bit of anything we eat ;-)

  • my tiel likes toast and crackers he loves it =)

  • did he just take a dump before fetching those little objects LOL

  • how did u teach it to do that

  • hahah xD

he just runs so cute xD

Hmm my birds get everything daily mallet seeds hehe..

for treating i give them bread/toast or abit of scrambled eggs ^__^

  • Wow awesome video! I've got to try that method with my 'tiel :-)

  • haha took a shit before work! ^^

  • i love when they run :)!!! its so cute.

  • Your 'tiel is really wise!

  • how did you train her to do that?

  • You're French Canadian too! :D ... yet I'm using English (go figure). Anyhow, Kiwi is adorable! I'm curious, though. How long did it took you to first tame her? What you're doing with her is simply amazing and inspirational! Lache pas Kiwi, t'es super cute!

  • interesting!!!

  • You sound so pleasant for your bird. I think sound, body language, you even look like your enjoying it when you say Yaay! 5 stars. I can see your bird thinking, and running, like playing a welcomed game! :-D.

  • thank you so much. Kiwi realy love to do tricks. Her favorite game is the basket ball ;) clicker training is a good way to build trust and learn how to understand each other. Maybe you could try on a rescued bird... I relly love what you are doing for them. You are a source of inspiration!

  • Thank you. I like to look for happy birds and what people do and try to integrate games and stuff for a variety of ways to have fun with them.

  • tres bien!

  • I've got as far as teaching my Wembley to 'touch' the object, but how did you go past that point to get him to pick it up and put it on the palm of your hand?

  • Once he starts touching it every time don't click it any more. Only click if he actually picks it up.

  • what treat are you feeding him and how old can you start training?

  • Who cleaver

  • he did a poo i think ooooooooooooo

  • brilliant demonstration of your excellent training technique. Thank you for sharing all your info too on how to teach it.

  • wow i wish mine could do that n mine is toky lol

  • This Kiwi its so cute.

I have one his name is Jerry.

  • what are you using to make the clicking sound?

  • it's a dog clicker. you can find it in a petshop. Or you can use a Snapple cap.

  • cool thanks

  • hahahah i love hoow it walks its like little footsteps he is so cute :D

  • QUALITY!! We're clicker training our cat, but your bird is more clever!

  • what trick do you do with your cat? do you have a video??

  • aww xx

  • I love the sound of her feet running on the table!

  • sadly i had to give mine away last week it was causing me an eye inflammation and im soon going to be a pilot and i cant risk my eyes for a bird. i miss him alot though and i see him every couple of days also he is grreat care with my friend his actually happier than before lol

  • No doubt he is

  • wow this is amazingggg, i am definetaly going to try that. Is the clicker expensive? And how many tricks have you teached her so far?

  • 3-4$ at the pet store (dog clicker)

she knows 5 tricks very well, but I need new idea !!

  • maybe you could teach kiwi to play portal?

  • what is that?

  • haha birds walk funni

  • I've got two Cockatiels, and one of them doesn't really trust me as much as the other (which I've had for longer). I might get a clicker and start training them. ^^

  • ur bird is beautiful!!!!!!

  • She's so good! I need to get a clicker and start training my birds too :-)

  • lol yea me 2

  • patience is the key, never forget that!;)

don´t pretend your bird doing this after few minutes..

  • what are you saying in the video? Apporte? doesn't that mean to bring in french?

  • what i am saying?where?

  • When you hold your hand out to kiwi, you say something to tell her bring it here. Something like "apporte?"

  • yes, apporte means bring it !!

  • Does she know both english and french? That's cool!

elle est tres mignonne, et tres intelligente aussi. Quel ans est-ce qu'elle?
