When Callie went thru her Georges death she stuck around, when Callie's family disowned her she stuck around, when Callie wanted to have a baby (after a brief separation) she stuck around. Where the hell did the writers pull that load of crap from. And Callie doesn't forgive? What about the Izzie/George thing or when...in fact that's it. When else has she HAD to forgive...and/or didn't. Just...ugh!
This was all wrong! All the arguments for why Arizona is in the wrong or Callie was in the wrong her highly incorrect and it still makes me angry to this day. The writers dropped the ball, HARD, on this one. But I was still thoroughly entertained!

I will be the first to admit that leaving Callie at the airport was Arizona's first so-called flaw, but Callie was really hurt by this and she wants Arizona to feel that same pain.

And its not like she bails whenever things get hard, she bailed once, and frankly she's put up with so much of callie's baggage without bailing that she should get a pass on her one mistake.

I can't believe Callie is pregnant. I mean she is a dr. she knows about protection. I know AZ left but she left to do some good in this world. Callie also took part in the break up for africa. Az has been there for Callie all the time and now she has to put up with having a kid with mark and callie. Mark is always in their relationship and now he will never leave. That was AZ's fear and it came true. I want someone new to flirt with AZ for a while for Callie to see that AZ is the most important
I think the bailing fit. When Mark said it it seemed to fit perfectly for me. Arizona may have not bailed in the traditional break-up/walk-away but emotion-wise she did on countless occaisions. She bailed on the conversation with Callie during "baby talk" yeah she eventually faced up and actually talked it out.
Anyways, I don't think it has anything to do with "prove your not a bailer by accepting this baby" the show is just tieing in a completely different point.
Meanwhile, I find it kinda funny how wonderfully understated Shonda's been when she's said Calzona will have "some bumps". This is a pretty big freaking bump!
Gosh.....I can't wait for the next episode. Been checking every 4 hours for it, even waking up in the middle of the night to check, even though I know it hasn't aired yet!!!! Talk about addicted......
Okay whoever is saying that this plot is out of the blue is totally wrong. We all saw Callie sleep with Mark while trying like hell to get over Arizona. She didn't think that Arizona was coming back. 3 years, remember? Pregnancies happen everyday and all people can say is "It was only once". Have you seen the teen pregnancy rates? Granted Callie is not a teen but the same rule applies. Shit happens. Arizona's back and claims that she loves Callie and this is just somethin' to deal with.
Bailing has been a fault of most of Callie's relationships - George, Erica, her dad, Arizona. To me that's more the point. That it's a continuing, bigger issue rather than something just isolated to Arizona. Mark saying "People bail on her. When things get hard, you've bailed" may have worked better. As is, it does sound too much like it's an Arizona-only problem.
Arizona's question was what fault do I have to admit to get her back. Mark just said she needs to know you'll be there for her, sounded alot different but I think that's what they were going for.
"I bail,when things get hard I walk away" Seriously?? Up until the whole Africa drama,Arizona has done nothing but stand by Callie.Even with the whole baby thing it was kind of a joint decision to separate,Arizona bailed once.Do the writers even watch their own show?

You know, EVERY time I watch this episode (many times now, lost count) it just speaks to me on Soooooo many levels!! EVERYthing Callie said at the beginning of this clip is what I would say to my Ex. Sigh!! funny how TV makes you look at your own life and whether you have the capacity to be more than what you are feeling and have felt to see and move beyond the hurt.

i don't really know what i am thinking about the last scene...i had always (at least) one opinion to every calzona scene, but this time my head is...kinda blocked. XD i have NO idea what callie is planning to do next...this seems like... unreal and complicated.
I reckon more than anything the thing that's changed more than anything about Arizona is that she's all dark and desperate now, it's like happy, sunny Arizona's disappeared. It's not completely without merit that she bails and that's Callie's beef with her, but I think Callie had slight abandonment issues anyway, so Arizona leaving caused her big problems. not sure about where this is all going...
I laughed at the end b/c I was nervous for Arizona. :) She'll step up! Go Arizona, and start a family with the woman you love. Just get on with it already!
I also disagree with what others have said here - I don't think Mark's sperm was an inevitability. They could adopt, they could do anything. I would be fine with anything, including Mark sperm - as long as Calzona decided that together. I am very interested to find out what the point of this whole journey Shonda has put them on will be... Who knows where this is going really.
@carelikecrazy I agree with all that you said and I also wrote it somewhere here on youtube, a child should be a decision they (Callie and Arizona) should take together, the method doesn't matter so much as long as they agree on having a child together. As you said, threesome or foursome family, it doesn't work for me either. And another thing before having a baby, who will take all your energy and your strength, they should figure out some issues that both of them have it right now.
I agree with what others have said here - Callie and Mark get the baby they've always wanted + Calzona are together does not to me = winners all round. I like Mark. And I like Mark and Callie's friendship. But I don't like it enough to feel good about this. I have no doubt they'll end up together but I love Calzona, as a couple, not a baby daddy Mark threesome or stepmum Lexie foursome. The idea that they'll all be this one big happy family doesn't delight me. It just makes me sad for Calzona.
I didn't and still don't care if Calzona have babies or not, as long as they're together. But I would want it to be a conscious decision they made rather than an accident Callie and Mark made. Major Bail: when arizona didnt want to see the ugly side of a relationship & distanced herself from her girlfriend during her chicken pox stint. MARK CAME & STAYED. he was unconditional. I was just watching on youtube some clips with Arizona from S5 and S6 and some interviews wit Jessica Capshaw and I had a strange and sad feeling that I miss "McAwesome". Now she is more sad and a lot of things to take care of or to processed, I realized that I really miss her to be happy again. Bring back "McAwesome" back to me somehow!
Mark would have been the donor option in the end anyway. The When & How the baby is made would have been the only thing different if the ladies had never split! I think its better timing now. Mark isnt involved where he needs to have input/clearance on his sperm donation by lexie or anyone else. Besides, mark wants a kid! its all up to arizona to accept or just move on. Callie/mark will be friends with a kid & have new mates or marry at some pt.

If I try hard enough, I could kinda follow the show's logic and come up with a few instances where it appeared - to Callie at least - that Arizona was ready to bail:
1). The airport
2). When she first got the C-M grant and Callie told the documentary crew that she would not even think about moving to another continent right now (they just made up and moved in together)
3). The whole "I like my life and I thought I liked it with you in it ... I hope I'm not wrong" speech around the baby conflict

@charliec101 Actually, she has bailed (quick think back) 3 times... 1) when she found out Callie was only on her second lesbian relationship (okay, it was when they started out) 2) when Callie wanted a baby but she didn't 3) leaving her at the airport... I would swear there was another incident but I can't remember.
@im1shak1biotches I thought the break up over the kids thing was mutual...in fact I distinctly remember Arizona saying that they could keep going and it was Callie that didn't think that would work ('I don't know where we're going')...so I don't see that as Arizona bailing, more like a mutual decision to end things.

She was there for callie through everything with her family and george. And now what she is a a bailer b/c of her trip to africa which she was miserable in the whole time...i hope they have a real heart to heart talk and arizona stands up for herself..
@charliec101 She does have a history of leaving/bailing, though. When she found out Callie hadn't had an extensive past with women, she just suddenly didn't want her anymore. She should be allowed to be angry, though. I feel as though she probably will. However, if she doesn't leave Torres, then she'll prove how much she truly cares. I'm sure both characters will have nice little speeches to give to one another and others throughout the next few episodes.
Since all this stemmed from Az going to Africa let's point out Az never considereed not going to stay with Cal(unstandable its was a big opportunity) but Cal did consider not having kids because Az didnt want them. S6 finale Cal said "I tried I really tried but did you ever try you dismissed by dream". Bt Cal did try to go to Africa
YES Az decided she would have kids immediately after this crazy man shotup the hosptal and killed hella people, she was emotinal and I didnt buy that 100%
I totally agree, we've only paid attention to her self assessments not really her actions or assessments of others. S6 finale pointed out how she may feel about Callie sometimes, Callie "falls in love all the time" so what makes her different, she has also accused Callie of "playing in lesbian land". Az has some insecurity issues. I'm excited to see how they explore all of this.
This simple fact that when asked to name her own flaws Az names that she's a smoker as a character flaw proves she truly lives in a pretty pink bubble. I feel at this point she may be starting to realize shes not the "perfect" person she thought she was. I think she's becoming more self aware or at least she has an opportunity to become more self aware.
@VanessaAKnox Smoking is a flaw, and is the first thing that comes up to my mind if you ask me about my flaws.But Mark pointed out her flaws is more than I can take. This part with each other flaws it should be a very opened discussion between Callie and AZ, not Mark between. She is not perfect, but neither is Callie. At this point of the storyline I think that Callie and Mark deserves each other and AZ is above them.
@VanessaAKnox I understand smoking very well and I see it like a pleasure, a vice, but not all people understand it. For me is simple because i love smoking but there are people who don't understand it so they perceive it as something disgusting and can see it as a flaw.
It's much talk about the assassination of Az's character but if you think about everything we think of her character is based on things she's said about herself. She said she a "goodman in a storm", the way we see ourselves is not always how others see us. She has never really been challenged so her personal assessment of herself up to this point has been true.
@VanessaAKnox How much do you know about Callie? Some people define themselves by their action. AZ is a "doer", she can't always talk but she action. We don't know anything about her previous relationship, but we know she smokes when she is stressed, she ate donuts when she is sad, she can pray the bad dreams away, she has authority issues, she is able to say I"love you" when you least expected, she cries and laughs, and more other things...And Karev is in peds due to her.
@lentilovski Well first let me point out again if i havent already I'm TeamCalzona i'm not taking sides just trying to assess both of them. It seems like most people are saying Cal is in the wrong when they both have issues. Cal has insecurity issues as well, why does she keep picking people who is some way she never seems to be enough for(could be Cal's train of thought). She wasn't enough for George, she wasnt gay enough for Erica & now she isnt a good enough lesbian for Az.
@VanessaAKnox Don't get me wrong I love them together, but as I said before they should discuss all of their issues and fears in order to be together again and happy. But it seems that they never talk with calm and with maturity, at this point is AZ saying "I'm sorry" over and over again and Callie who is hurt and cranky about her pregnancy, and it seems to me that both of them are lost right now.

I didn't approve the way she left, but not the fact that she left. And is good that she comes back and I am very pleased to know that she will go every 2 months to check the situation there. Callie should try to trust people again, not everyone is bad, and she should try to trust AZ again.
@lentilovski 1sti agree they definately need to talk and work out their issues thats why i like the storyline is not black and white its a gray or "grey" area you have to consider how Callie may feel or how AZ might feel, feeling are legitimate but everyone is coming down on one side or the other. 2nd Honestly i would've left to, i'm going tobe a doctor and that kind of opportunity is why you become a doctor to help people, to save lives, like you said the way she left was BOGUS.

Arizona loves her life but she never really considered the fact that Callie is part of it now and therefore there’ll be some or lots of changes. Going to Africa was probably her biggest dream before Callie but the thing is that dream was realized during Callie and there should be some consideration, some bending (should I go or should I stay), but there wasn’t. So, I think that should be Arizona’s FLAW not that she bails out.
Couldn’t they come up with a better flaw that doesn’t change Arizona’s already established character? Like not knowing how to bend for the person she loves. Her father bent for her but she’s having problems bending for Callie: the baby thing, the Mark thing, or even the frowny apartment (but she never bailed she stayed even if things got messy like their first breakup still she stayed).
...So it’s really disappointing how suddenly after returning from Africa she’s all new person. And the “BAIL OUT” thing just ruins everything. “A good man in a storm” was her strongest line Arizona’s very definition and they killed it.
Moving on to Arizona: I wasn’t a big fan of Arizona at first but as I watch her character unveil I’ve come to love her. And what I love most bout her is her consistency. I love how the writers were consistent about her principles in life: not having a baby or George being awesome for going to Iraq…

Living on different continents a whole world apart couldn't keep them from each other. Love isn't easy and it doesn't come without sacrifice. Yes Arizona should be mad, jealous.. oooh! Yell and punch Mark (not with her scalpel hand!). But at the end of the day... She loves Calliope, and she will love the baby... Hooray!
i'd be pissed if callie ends up with mark in the long run.. i mean callie and arizona need to be endgame!!! they are the cutest couple.. and greys is probably the only tv series that has portrayed a lesbian couple like every other straight couple on the show.. normal, with flaws, but over all they are so adorable together

I LOVED this episode, hilarious, heart wrenching and awesome! Love McBaby, She didn't cheat, Mark is her platonic rebound guy (always have been). They both want a baby, Lexie is too young. This baby is going to have amazing genes. I think that having a family would be good for Arizona. Plus this way Calzona baby will have a dad, and if they split the custody they can still be surgeons and have a social life. Plus Callie is going to look gorgeous pregnant!

I think the bailing fit. When Mark said it it seemed to fit perfectly for me. Arizona may have not bailed in the traditional break-up/walk-away but emotion-wise she did on countless occaisions. She bailed on the conversation with Callie during "baby talk" yeah she eventually faced up and actually talked it out.
Anyways, I don't think it has anything to do with "prove your not a bailer by accepting this baby" the show is just tieing in a completely different point.

Okay whoever is saying that this plot is out of the blue is totally wrong. We all saw Callie sleep with Mark while trying like hell to get over Arizona. She didn't think that Arizona was coming back. 3 years, remember? Pregnancies happen everyday and all people can say is "It was only once". Have you seen the teen pregnancy rates? Granted Callie is not a teen but the same rule applies. Shit happens. Arizona's back and claims that she loves Callie and this is just somethin' to deal with.

Bailing has been a fault of most of Callie's relationships - George, Erica, her dad, Arizona. To me that's more the point. That it's a continuing, bigger issue rather than something just isolated to Arizona. Mark saying "People bail on her. When things get hard, you've bailed" may have worked better. As is, it does sound too much like it's an Arizona-only problem.

You know, EVERY time I watch this episode (many times now, lost count) it just speaks to me on Soooooo many levels!! EVERYthing Callie said at the beginning of this clip is what I would say to my Ex. Sigh!! funny how TV makes you look at your own life and whether you have the capacity to be more than what you are feeling and have felt to see and move beyond the hurt.

I reckon more than anything the thing that's changed more than anything about Arizona is that she's all dark and desperate now, it's like happy, sunny Arizona's disappeared. It's not completely without merit that she bails and that's Callie's beef with her, but I think Callie had slight abandonment issues anyway, so Arizona leaving caused her big problems. not sure about where this is all going...

I also disagree with what others have said here - I don't think Mark's sperm was an inevitability. They could adopt, they could do anything. I would be fine with anything, including Mark sperm - as long as Calzona decided that together. I am very interested to find out what the point of this whole journey Shonda has put them on will be... Who knows where this is going really.

@carelikecrazy I agree with all that you said and I also wrote it somewhere here on youtube, a child should be a decision they (Callie and Arizona) should take together, the method doesn't matter so much as long as they agree on having a child together. As you said, threesome or foursome family, it doesn't work for me either. And another thing before having a baby, who will take all your energy and your strength, they should figure out some issues that both of them have it right now.

I agree with what others have said here - Callie and Mark get the baby they've always wanted + Calzona are together does not to me = winners all round. I like Mark. And I like Mark and Callie's friendship. But I don't like it enough to feel good about this. I have no doubt they'll end up together but I love Calzona, as a couple, not a baby daddy Mark threesome or stepmum Lexie foursome. The idea that they'll all be this one big happy family doesn't delight me. It just makes me sad for Calzona.

I didn't and still don't care if Calzona have babies or not, as long as they're together. But I would want it to be a conscious decision they made rather than an accident Callie and Mark made. I really don't like Arizona being a third wheel. Not cool. A Calzona baby ok, a Mallie baby no. I still believe Shonda can make just about anything work. Surely she has something up her sleeve... Please Shonda & co, make me love this. They'll have to forgive me for feeling negative right now though.

Mark would have been the donor option in the end anyway. The When & How the baby is made would have been the only thing different if the ladies had never split! I think its better timing now. Mark isnt involved where he needs to have input/clearance on his sperm donation by lexie or anyone else. Besides, mark wants a kid! its all up to arizona to accept or just move on. Callie/mark will be friends with a kid & have new mates or marry at some pt.

If I try hard enough, I could kinda follow the show's logic and come up with a few instances where it appeared - to Callie at least - that Arizona was ready to bail:
1). The airport
2). When she first got the C-M grant and Callie told the documentary crew that she would not even think about moving to another continent right now (they just made up and moved in together)
3). The whole "I like my life and I thought I liked it with you in it ... I hope I'm not wrong" speech around the baby conflict

Also Arizona has to overcome her 'flaw' of bailing and prove herself by gracefully accepting a Mallie baby? Yeah ok, that's not contrived at all...

No but Az should change 4 Callile. Well if I recall Az told Callie "that she wanted her to be in love with her instead of being in love." Check 6x23-24 it explains it all. #3 U can't just put the blame on Az alone Callie played apart in it as well.

@charliec101 She does have a history of leaving/bailing, though. When she found out Callie hadn't had an extensive past with women, she just suddenly didn't want her anymore. She should be allowed to be angry, though. I feel as though she probably will. However, if she doesn't leave Torres, then she'll prove how much she truly cares. I'm sure both characters will have nice little speeches to give to one another and others throughout the next few episodes.

Since all this stemmed from Az going to Africa let's point out Az never considereed not going to stay with Cal(unstandable its was a big opportunity) but Cal did consider not having kids because Az didnt want them. I totally agree, we've only paid attention to her self assessments not really her actions or assessments of others. S6 finale pointed out how she may feel about Callie sometimes, Callie "falls in love all the time" so what makes her different, she has also accused Callie of "playing in lesbian land". Az has some insecurity issues. I'm excited to see how they explore all of this.

This simple fact that when asked to name her own flaws Az names that she's a smoker as a character flaw proves she truly lives in a pretty pink bubble. I feel at this point she may be starting to realize shes not the "perfect" person she thought she was. I think she's becoming more self aware or at least she has an opportunity to become more self aware.

This part with each other flaws it should be a very opened discussion between Callie and AZ, not Mark between. She is not perfect, but neither is Callie. At this point of the storyline I think that Callie and Mark deserves each other and AZ is above them.

It's much talk about the assassination of Az's character but if you think about everything we think of her character is based on things she's said about herself. She said she a "goodman in a storm", the way we see ourselves is not always how others see us. She has never really been challenged so her personal assessment of herself up to this point has been true.

We don't know anything about her previous relationship, but we know she smokes when she is stressed, she ate donuts when she is sad, she can pray the bad dreams away, she has authority issues, she is able to say I"love you" when you least expected, she cries and laughs, and more other things...And Karev is in peds due to her.

It seems like most people are saying Cal is in the wrong when they both have issues. But it seems that they never talk with calm and with maturity, at this point is AZ saying "I'm sorry" over and over again and Callie who is hurt and cranky about her pregnancy, and it seems to me that both of them are lost right now.

@VanessaAKnox Regarding leaving - in my opinion AZ didn't leave her, if I were her I would left for Africa too, it's a one in a lifetime opportunity and for a greater purpose in the world. I didn't approve the way she left, but not the fact that she left. And is good that she comes back and I am very pleased to know that she will go every 2 months to check the situation there. Callie should try to trust people again, not everyone is bad, and she should try to trust AZ again.

Arizona loves her life but she never really considered the fact that Callie is part of it now and therefore there’ll be some or lots of changes. Going to Africa was probably her biggest dream before Callie but the thing is that dream was realized during Callie and there should be some consideration, some bending (should I go or should I stay), but there wasn’t. So, I think that should be Arizona’s FLAW not that she bails out.

Mmm just realized but Arizona's question wasn't what's my biggest flaw it was what one do I have to admit to to get her back. So I think Mark was kinda saying that she needs more than an apologie she needs to know you'll be there, not so much you always bail when things get tough although it did sound alot like that.

Mark and Callie started out as sex, somehow their friendship grew out of that but the sex part never left. As for Mark he's been more serious about getting Lexie back than a manwhore latley. You could tell when Callie asked, sex wasn't even on his mind as he asked her if she wanted a cookie. He was trying to forget just like Callie. At some point Arizona is going to have to forgive Calliope, and it might as well be now. Because they are in love with each other... soul mates... star crossed lovers... Living on different continents a whole world apart couldn't keep them from each other. Love isn't easy and it doesn't come without sacrifice. Yes Arizona should be mad, jealous.. oooh! Yell and punch Mark (not with her scalpel hand!). But at the end of the day... She loves Calliope, and she will love the baby... Hooray!

i'd be pissed if callie ends up with mark in the long run.. i mean callie and arizona need to be endgame!!! they are the cutest couple.. and greys is probably the only tv series that has portrayed a lesbian couple like every other straight couple on the show.. normal, with flaws, but over all they are so adorable together

AZ's possible thought process (I'm trying to get into the writer's head)
1. Always feared Callie would leave her for Mark
2. Callie didn't want to go to Africa (there could be various reasons and Mark could be a big one)
3. Callie could've bought out the subletters herself but instead chose to stay with Mark
4. Callie's now pregnant with Mark's baby
AZ's Conclusion: Maybe Callie wants to be with Mark. Does/Did Callie really love her at all or was she just having a vacation in lesbian land?

@SpAnKeR9876 I wasn't speaking to Callie's intent; we all know how Callie feels but AZ doesn't, at least not for sure and has been iffy where Callie's feelings are concerned (it's called dramatic irony) so I was theorizing what her potential thought process could be.

@embrya26 This is everything that i thought. AZ has NEVER been comfortable with Callie & Marks relationship, she tried to use that he stares at her boobs as a reason to why she doesn't like him (that was a front).she has never been confortable with the fact that Callie slept with men PERIOD (from the beginning). I don't think shes ever been comfortable voicing her insercuites to Callie. This pregnancy brings all of her insecurites to the forefront now. It's pretty damn good IMO

oh by the way: i read that the next episode is called "don´t deceive me (please don´t go)"... so maybe we will see how callie asks for arizonas help... however i am so looking forward to see how they gonne handle that- because right now all i can think is CRAP.

I LOVED this episode, hilarious, heart wrenching and awesome! Love McBaby, She didn't cheat, Mark is her platonic rebound guy (always have been). They both want a baby, Lexie is too young. This baby is going to have amazing genes. I think that having a family would be good for Arizona. Plus this way Calzona baby will have a dad, and if they split the custody they can still be surgeons and have a social life. Plus Callie is going to look gorgeous pregnant!
