Even if she did credit DeBarge, unfortunately they would receive no royalties because even though they wrote most of their music, they signed it all over to Motown years ago. This is a damn shame because they have been so sampled over the years, had they retained the rights to their music they would be sitting pretty. They wrote some classics.

I wish in the music industry they would understand that young people like me and others need music like this, we actually would prefer to listen to this than, Beyonce, Jay Z, or any other kind of overly sexual, drug, violent music. I remember listening to this song when I was 9 years old (1981). While I didn't understand the love the sang of, I was in awe with both lead and background harmonies!
