Coots aren't ducks; they are members of the rail family. The scientic name for the Amercan Coot is " Fulicia Ralidae ". There is also the European Coot in western Europe.

I never saw an American Coot until I saw one in Vegas, at the time I thought it was like a mutated duck or somehow a pigeon mated with a duck and made this. Their feet look weird as hell kinda freaky. Now I know its a commonly known animal.
