How can you not know you could export to MP3 - its in the menu!

As for pushing their own format, you mean .aup? Aup is an editing format, so you can save your project and open it again with all the tracks in place, a bit like GIMP's xcf. THEN once your done you export (which mixes-down and encodes) to MP3, OGG, etc.

And if you meant pushing vorbis as "their own format" then I would be ROTFLOL'ing on the floor for eternity!

You just have to grab a version of LAME and point audacity to where it can find lame_enc.dll.

dont use that media converter, i use mencoder and ffmpeg2theora.

When most people say Linux, it is understood that they mean GNU/Linux.

Gimpshop is made from the same code, just a different interface so I don't see how you can say one is better...

MediaCoder uses MEncoder and probably ffmpeg2theora to convert stuff so there's no real downside to it.

The projects mentioned in that video are great and shouldn't be put down just because you use something else. Try being more accepting.
